1. What is IVF?

The so-called IVF is completed by in vitro fertilization, that is, the woman's eggs and the man's sperm are taken out with the help of medicine, and then cultivated into fertilized eggs in vitro (generally in laboratories with strict conditions), and then transferred to the mother's uterus through clinical transfer to the embryo after the embryo matures to a certain stage.
It may seem like a simple process, but the actual process is complicated, and not all IVF can be successful. The first conditions for success must be healthy eggs and sperm for both men and women, and some men have asthenospermia, but it is more difficult to select, and the success rate is relatively low.

However, in today's era of rapid development of IVF technology, some people have raised the question, that is, whether babies born through IVF technology will have a difference in life expectancy and IQ compared with babies born by normal conception? As more and more people ask questions, many people have entered the misunderstanding about IVF.
To say that the biggest difference between IVF and ordinary babies is that the position of the fertilized egg when it is formed is different.
IVF is developed by selecting the sperm and eggs of the parents, forming a fertilized egg outside the mother's body, and then transferring it to the mother's uterus, while ordinary babies are directly fertilized and redeveloped in the mother (that is, the fallopian tubes). Either way, the process after normal implantation of the fertilized egg is the same, and there is essentially no difference. So is there a difference between life expectancy and IQ that people question?
It has been more than 40 years since the first IVF was implemented in the mainland, and the country's technology in this area is also quite mature. With the emergence of so many IVFs, they are not much different from ordinary babies on the road of life, the same grown up and married and have children. So far, no problems of short life and low IQ have been found due to IVF, and no study can prove this.
Conversely, IVF appears to be more secure in terms of health than a normally conceived baby. This is because during IVF, doctors will conduct genetic screening of both men and women, which can detect genetic health problems in advance and screen out unqualified sperm and eggs, such as the most common chromosomal disease - trisomy 21, and other genetic diseases, which natural fertility cannot do.
This method of conception further ensures the health of the embryo, which in turn ensures the health of the baby. Therefore, there will be no obvious difference in longevity and IQ.
