On March 15, Zhou Hongyi, founder of 360, said in an exclusive interview with The Paper that the emergence of GPT-4 will be used as a "power plant" to process big data into water and electricity, and output it to thousands of industries in the form of SaaS services through API interfaces, comprehensively improving the level of intelligence in human society. At that time, all digital apps, software, and websites are worth redoing with ChatGPT. 

On March 14, local time, OpenAI launched the latest large language model GPT-4. According to reports, this is a large multimodal model, compared with the previous model GPT-3.5 used by ChatGPT, its text processing capacity has been expanded to 25,000 words, and it can also process image content. In cases where the user enters both text and images, it is possible to generate text such as natural language and code. 

Once launched, GPT-4 became the focus of public opinion because of its performance of "looking at a sketch, you can generate a website in one second", and appeared on Weibo hot search. Professionally and academically, GPT-4 has demonstrated near-human levels. For example, it scored in the top 10 percent on the mock bar exam, compared to the bottom 10 percent of GPT-3.5. 

ChatGPT is not a fill-in-the-blank machine, with a real level of intelligence and understanding

"The emergence of GPT-4 once again validates my point that ChatGPT is not a fill-in-the-blank machine, it already has a complete level of real intelligence and understanding, and it is the singularity of general artificial intelligence and the inflection point of the arrival of strong artificial intelligence." Zhou Hongyi said.

 He believes that in terms of technical level, the parameters of GPT-4 have been improved, from the original 175 billion to at least trillion or 10 trillion level. At the same time, the training corpus of GPT-4 is likely to increase to at least tens of millions of books. In this knowledge situation, GPT-4 is already not only a strong AI, but also a super AI. 

Zhou Hongyi believes that the development of artificial intelligence has gone through three stages, the first is the "artificial intellectual disability" stage, although it can do some technical, such as face recognition, text OCR recognition and other single tasks, but can not understand what humans are saying; The second stage is general artificial intelligence, such as the previously launched ChatGPT, which can not only smoothly talk to humans, but also pass the Turing experiment; The third stage is super artificial intelligence, that is, OpenAI's launch of GPT-4. 

"At present, there are hundreds of small vertical companies in the United States that use ChatGPT's API to create vertical scenarios. In the future, China can also cultivate pendant applications based on ChatGPT. It can be said that in the future, every industry, every company, and even everyone will have their own ChatGPT. Zhou Hongyi thought. 

It is worth noting that in a previous interview with The Paper, Zhou Hongyi once talked about the "triple personality" of ChatGPT in his heart - in terms of knowledge, it is like a doctoral student, knowledgeable but not yet active; In terms of emotional intelligence, it is like a slippery middle-aged person, saying that everything is dripping and must not offend the user. However, it is actually really capable like a small child who needs to be trained in questions and answers to learn skills. No matter how smart children are, they must be trained to solve the Olympiad problems they have not learned.

Domestic catch-up GPT-4 requires "two wings to fly together"

Speaking about whether 360 has a layout in ChatGPT-like, Zhou Hongyi said frankly: "360 will undoubtedly work GPT-4, and I believe that all companies pay strategic attention to it." ”

In his view, many people focus on OpenAI, but ignore the huge role played by its collaborator Microsoft. It was the combination of OpenAI and Microsoft that led to the success of ChatGPT. 

In January, Microsoft "officially announced" that it would expand its partnership with OpenAI and deploy OpenAI models in products; On February 8, Microsoft officially announced the integration of a new generation of ChatGPT into its search engine "Bing", and the new function supports search in the form of chat. 

Zhou Hongyi suggested that the technological development of catching up with GPT-4 in China needs "two wings flying together". First, we must have our own technology accumulation and not give up core technology research and development; Second, we must use the existing capabilities of mature companies and not give up seizing core user scenarios and traffic. 

He said that in the future, 360 will closely integrate artificial intelligence technology with existing businesses, give full play to the company's advantages in technological innovation, engineering and scenario-based, and comprehensively deploy generative large-language model technology from the three dimensions of individuals (toC), small and medium-sized enterprises (toSME), government and large enterprises (toB&toG), and empower the development of digital China. 

On the toC side, 360 will learn from the combination of Microsoft and OpenAI capabilities to launch New Bing's model, that is, a new generation of intelligent search engine, and launch artificial intelligence personal assistant products based on search scenarios; On the toSME side, 360 will make SaaS vertical applications based on generative large models, and continue to solve the digital transformation problems of small and medium-sized enterprises. "Although the inventor of ChatGPT wanted to pay everyone a flat wage, ChatGPT didn't think so, it wanted to wipe out humanity. I don't think humans should be replaced by artificial intelligence. What we have to think about is how to use it, how to control it. At the same time, I feel that I always feel that I will be replaced, and I panic, which is a loser mentality. Zhou Hongyi said frankly.
