In the top 10 of the 2023 NBA Mock Draft, it really doesn't make any difference whether your favorite team makes the playoffs right now. In fact, if your team is in the bottom half of the standings, it might be better, like the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs. On the other hand, even a contender like the Memphis Grizzlies or a mid-table team like the Toronto Raptors may end up getting some good rookies.
The top two in the draft are considered locked, but other drafts also fluctuate. There's no doubt that Venbanyama and Huntson are highly touted as this year's champions and leaders.
1. Victor Venbanyama (Detroit Pistons) Why Venbanyama is considered the most talented player in the last 20 years, even surpassing LeBron James. At 7 feet 4" tall, he has guard-like possession and offensive ability, and his experience playing against adult men in Europe is unparalleled. He deservedly became a champion in the NBA simulation and draft. Now, although the Detroit Pistons' frontcourt is packed with James Wiseman, Marvin Bagley III and Isaias Stewart, they are likely to prioritize accommodating Winbanyama and should build their future around him.
2, Scout Henderson (Houston Rockets) Although Jaylen Green and Porter Jr.'s backcourt looks interesting, it does not bring many wins to the Houston Rockets. The team will likely adjust their lineup around Henderson. As a result, Porter could be traded in the offseason. A point guard with a sporting flair like him, whether James Harden returns or not, Henderson has the potential to be the cornerstone of the team.
3. Brandon Miller (San Antonio Spurs) Brandon Miller has been linked to some news reports involving former Alabama player Darius Myers, and the San Antonio Spurs may be willing to take risks on Miller, who could be a good fit for this team due to the need for another high-scoring player who plays alongside Keldon Johnson. Controversy won't drop him out of the top three of our NBA mock draft.

Amen Thompson (Charlotte Hornets) Amen Thompson and O'Sall Thompson are twin brothers who are both expected to make the top five in the draft, and while his brother Osar is also promising, Amen may have higher potential to take a high pick. He will likely take on the role of primary ball handler alongside LaMelo Ball in Charlotte.
5. Osar Thompson (Orlando Magic) Osar Thompson should go to the Magic. It has great potential on the offensive end.
6. Nick Smith Jr. (Washington Wizards) Nick Smith Jr. has been dealing with a knee injury for the past few months. Now it is gradually returning to its state. He possesses extraordinary ball control skills but needs to prove himself through consistently good performances to justify his high pick.
7. Anthony Black (Portland Blazers) Anthony Black is a big man who can play point guard or touchline, and he is excellent at ball handling and passing.
8. Jarres Walker (Indiana Pacers) Jares Walker should be selected by the Pacers. He is a power forward with a strong physique and excellent offensive skills. He is also a strong defender and rebounder who can contribute in full court.
9. Kem Whitmore (Orlando Magic) Kem Whitmore is an athletic player who excels at breakaway layups and also improves his three-point shooting percentage.
10. Taylor Hendrix (Toronto Raptors) Taylor Hendrix is a skilled forward with a long reach and athletic potential, and since his range prospect has been rising rapidly, he will provide the Raptors with much-needed outside scoring.
