In the Yuncui Garden in the east of Dali City, there are two lakes in the north and south directions, and the Yuncui Garden was built in the Nanzhao period. Nanzhao is an ancient state name, founded in 738 and died in 902, it is an ancient kingdom that rose in the Yunnan region in the eighth century, and was established by Pi Luoge, the leader of the Mengshe tribe, in the 26th year of the Tang Dynasty.
Speaking of Yun Cuiyuan, we have to start from the history of Nanzhao.
It is said that in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, there were six small states in the Erhai region, which were very powerful, commanded by six kings, called the Six Commandments, namely the Mengwei Zhao, the Yue Jie Zhao, the Lang Qiong Zhao, the Xiao Zhao, the Shi Lang Zhao, and the Mengshe Zhao. The Mengshe Zhao is in the south, so it is also called nanzhao. In the history of Nanzhao, there was an important king named PiLuoge.
In the twenty-fifth year of the new century, that is, in 737 AD, PiLuoge defeated Heman and took the city of Taihe. In the following year, Pi Luoge entered the court to meet Tang Xuanzong, who gave Pi Luoge the name of Meng guiyi, and became the King of Yunnan, the Duke of Yueguo, and the kaifu Yi Tongsan Division.
Before unifying the Six Commandments, Meng Guiyi gradually became stronger, and slowly he began to have ambitions to annex the other Five Commandments.
Because Meng Guiyi began to enter the dynasty very early, he said that he had submitted to the Tang Dynasty and was willing to be a vassal, and thus received imperial gifts, and was very rich. With the support of Datang, he wanted to annex the Five Commandments and unify the Six Commandments even more. At first, he wanted to peacefully summon the other kings of the Five Commandments to a meeting to explain that unification would be stronger, and to declare that he was the true king and that he would rule everyone.
However, the kings of the other five edicts did not agree. This is very powerful, after all, no one wants to change from a king to someone else's subordinate.
Although this time was unsuccessful, Meng Guiyi saw the concubine of the king of The Dragon (邆赕, yin tong pain shan), and he was immediately attracted to this concubine, because the concubine was so beautiful, so beautiful that it was a bit demon, and it was absolutely charming. The concubine was called Bai Jie, she was of the Lang Qiong Zhao clan, married to the king of the Qiao Zhao, and people called her Lady Bai Jie.
Meng Guiyi had explicitly stated that he wanted to marry Lady Bai jie, but was refused. Therefore, Meng Guiyi wanted to unify the five commandments and get this concubine.
Later, Meng Guiyi thought of a way, he asked the craftsmen to build a Songming Building at the Mengshe Dragon Pond as soon as possible, and once again invited the other kings of the Five Commandments to discuss things, pretending to worship the ancestors. The king didn't think about it so much, and after the rectification, he was going to go to the Songming Building. However, Mrs. Bai Jie knew that she was a righteous person and bitterly advised her husband not to go. Unfortunately, the king did not listen to Bai Jie's words and insisted on going.
In desperation, Mrs. Bai Jie asked someone to take a iron bracelet (an ornament worn by a woman on her wrist, and several bracelets in parallel were jun), put it on her husband's left arm, and then cried goodbye to her husband. Subsequently, the king of The Qiao Zhao went.
On June 23, the king of the Liaozhao and the other four kings arrived in Nanzhao one after another, and Meng Guiyi warmly invited them to the Songming Building to prepare for the meeting. Everyone was drinking and chatting, the atmosphere was not bad, the scene was very lively, and everyone was very happy. The more the five kings drank, the happier they became, and slowly they all let their guard down.
At this time, the drunken Meng Guiyi suddenly said that he wanted to understand it. The crowd didn't think much of it, waving their hands to tell him to hurry back. Meng Guiyi, supported by his attendants, wandered downstairs. After descending the Songming Building, he immediately sobered up, made a big move, and the soldiers who were ambushed nearby surrounded him, dismantled the ladder, sealed the gate, set up firewood and hay, and then lit a fire on all sides.
The Songming Building was extremely tall, and when the King of the Five Commandments realized that something was wrong, the flames had already reached the upper floor. Although the crowd understood the plan, they had no choice, and if they jumped, they were guaranteed to be killed. Even if he did not die, he would still be seriously injured, and he would still be killed by The Righteous at that time. The king of the Five Commandments did not dare to jump, and all of them were burned alive.
Lady Bai Jie knew that Meng Guiyi wanted to kill all the kings, including her husband, the King of Qiao Zhao. Therefore, she put the iron on her husband's arm, just in case, to prevent her from being unrecognizable after her husband's death and unable to collect the body.
Two days later, on June 25, Lady Bai Jie rushed to Nanzhao and broke into the Songming Building despite the obstruction of Meng Guiyi's subordinates. The bodies were burned black and unrecognizable. So Madame Bai Jie began to examine the arm of the corpse, and she turned over and turned it over, and finally on the arm of a corpse, she saw the iron judon.
It seems that this corpse is her husband, the king, that is, her husband. Lady Bai Jie was heartbroken, fell to the ground and cried bitterly, and fainted when she cried, and when she woke up, she continued to cry, so seven times. Under the persuasion of the entourage, Lady Bai Jie slowly settled down.
After her mood stabilized, Mrs. Bai Jie put her husband's body on the car and pulled it to the hanging hill of the bird and buried her husband solemnly.
In this way, Meng Guiyi killed the other five kings, and he and the Tang army united to destroy the Yue Analysis first, the third wave, and then the Meng Yue, and soon unified the Six Commandments. The concubines, wives, concubines, and daughters of the other five kings were all occupied by Mengguiyi. However, only Lady Bai Jie did not obey.
The more you don't get it, the more you want to get it.
Meng Guiyi saw that he could not get Lady Bai Jie's heart, so he tried to coax her, and he sent someone to build a cloud crest garden in the South Lake. Yuncui Garden has a three-mile road length and width, east of the Erhai Sea, there are pavilions in the garden, there are pavilions, there are thirty-six landscapes, quite magnificent. Meng Guiyi also built the Fengle Pavilion next to the Sea Temple (near the sea), also to make Lady Baijie happy.
Bai Jie's heart will never succumb to the righteousness, she will be with her husband forever. However, Meng Guiyi kept sending people to keep an eye on her, and she didn't get a chance.
After seeing the completion of the Fengle Pavilion, Lady Bai Jie asked the maid to send a message to Meng Guiyi: As long as on the afternoon of the eighth day of the eighth month, Meng Guiyi ken set up an altar sacrifice on the eighth floor of the Fengle Pavilion to pay tribute to my husband, and I will marry him. This is not a bad thing for him, after all, it can show benevolence. He sent people to set up an altar at fengle pavilion, personally paid tribute to the king of The Dragon Zhao, and falsely shed a few tears.
After the sacrifice of righteousness, Lady Bai Jie continued to sacrifice her husband.
Lady Bai Jie's sacrifice, the emotion is naturally more sincere than the return of the righteousness, more than 10,000 people watched from the side, saw Mrs. Bai Jie reading the sacrifice words, telling her and her husband about the past, the two people's love bit by bit, more than 10,000 people were moved to tears. After sacrificing her husband, Bai Jie took out a bottle and a spirit card from her arms. Inside the bottle was poisonous wine, and she drank the poisoned wine, held her husband's spirit card, and calmly jumped into the sea.
Meng Guiyi was horrified and sent people to the sea to salvage, but there was a storm, and everyone salvaged them, but nothing was salvaged. At that time, people said that Lady Bai Jie was a martyr and did not submit to the righteousness, she touched the heavens and the earth and the sea god, so the sea god did not let others fish her body.
Later, the locals built the Shrine of Our Lady of Baijie on the seashore, and the incense was constantly burning. On the walls of the ancestral hall, there are poems inscribed by literati poets of past generations, a total of more than 160 poems. There was a man named Fan Tianpei who copied down all these poems and made them into a booklet called "Lady Shengde Baijie Praise".
