Wang Ping (1907-1998), formerly known as Wang Weiyun and formerly known as Wang Ming, was born on October 12, 1907 to a peasant family in Dahudi Village, Sanxikou Town, Yangxin County, Hubei Province. He was awarded the rank of General in 1955.

General Wang Ping was tall, half a head taller than Mao Zedong. The Red Third Army is known as the nickname of "big tall", and Mao Zedong and Peng Dehuai also called it "Wang Big Man".

General Wang Ping had long legs, was thin and thin when he was young, known as "Scud Legs", walked like a fly, as fast as the wind, and most people could not catch up. Huang Kecheng once praised wang ping for walking fast, moving fast, and reacting quickly.

In November 1933, the then leading troops accompanied the main force of the division attacked the Fourth Division, the main force of the Kuomintang Advancing Army, in the Bajiaoting area of Huwan Bay, and withdrew from the battle due to excessive casualties for two days. Wang Ping recalled that in this battle, the sixteenth regiment suffered heavy casualties, the eleventh regiment suffered even greater casualties, the political commissar Wu Zongtai was sacrificed, and the director of the political office, Gan Weihan, was wounded. After the war, Wang Ping was transferred to the political commissar and director of the political office of the Eleventh Regiment, and the regimental commander Deng Guoqing.

Wang Ping recalled that the Red Eleventh Regiment was a mobile unit and a fist unit of the Red Third Army, and during the Long March, it suddenly took the lead, the rear guard, the sudden feint, and the sudden detour, and with its rapid response ability of maneuvering and responding, it participated in important battles such as attacking Yizhang, crossing the Xiang River by force, outwitting Zunyi, crossing The Three Crossings of Chishui, Sidu Chishui, pretending to attack Guiyang, forcibly occupying the Beipan River, and besieging Huili. The Eleventh Regiment of Generals went from forward to defender on several occasions, or fell behind, or lost contact, and then miraculously caught up. The Eleventh Regiment is known as the "Scud" on the Long March.

In the early morning of April 14, 1935, Peng Dehuai, commander of the Red Third Army, ordered the Eleventh Regiment to be the advance regiment to immediately occupy the white-layered crossing of the Beipan River and cover the crossing of the main Red Army. To this end, Wang Pingqian led the second battalion (owed a company) and the regimental reconnaissance platoon to the Iron Cable Bridge 15 kilometers away, took advantage of the night to capture two positions of the defenders, and confronted the Nationalist troops of a division on the opposite bank for one day and two nights.

In his later years, Wang Ping still remembers the details of robbing the Beipan River ferry: the water along the river is not deep, but it can be wade in vain. The reconnaissance platoon and the warriors of the third battalion, stripped naked, with bullets and clothing on their heads, and guns in their hands, waded toward the opposite shore. As soon as I landed, I was attacked by the enemy. Before they could get dressed, they went into battle, and after repelling the enemy, many of the warriors chased them out of the ground bare-chested for more than twenty miles. Wang Ping said: "The common people are very surprised to see this scene."

On the morning of April 19, after completing the cover of the main Red Army crossing the river, the Eleventh Regiment was transformed from an advance regiment into a rear guard regiment. At that time, Peng Dehuai demanded that they must arrive at Xingren Town before 12 noon, otherwise they would be in danger of being intercepted by the Nationalist troops who arrived first. Wang Ping recalled,

"At that time, we immediately assembled urgently, and Zhang Aiping and I ran to the front and led the vanguard battalion, just like a race." At that time, the Eleventh Regiment ran 60 kilometers in 6 hours, bypassing the Nationalist troops who had reached xingren city before them, and finally caught up with the large troops of the Three Corps. Commander Peng Dehuai was particularly pleased, pointing to the leading "big man Wang" and saying, "Look, our 'Scud' has caught up!"

In the autumn of 1947, the Jin-Cha-Ji Field Army launched a powerful autumn offensive to annihilate the enemy in the movement. In September, the Nationalist army Luo Lirong left Shijiazhuang, and the commander of the field army, Yang Dezhi, decided to surround and annihilate the lone army's Luo Lirong troops that had penetrated deep into Qingfengdian. Before the battle began, Nie Rongzhen ordered the then-former commander to the front line to unify the local armed forces, and delay Luo Lirong's march north to buy time for Yang Dezhi's main army to go south.

Yang Dezhi recalled that he did not expect that after Wang Ping received the task, he would swing his whip and gallop rapidly. Then he changed horses and continued to gallop. After Wang Ping rushed to the front line, he personally led a regiment and thousands of militiamen to fight to block the enemy. Yang Dezhi said: "We are the main force in the Battle of Qingfengdian, and before the main force was put into battle, the local armed forces commanded by Wang Ping had already begun to fight." Scud's name is well deserved!"

General Wang Ping has a loud voice, and his political work can be reasoned and mobilized, which is extremely infectious. At every critical moment in the battle, Wang Ping would wave his fist and shout slogans, which not only boosted morale, but also shocked the enemy.

On April 27, 1934, Wang Ping led the 11th Regiment to participate in the fierce battle to defend Guangchang, the northern gate of the Central Soviet District. When the Kuomintang army broke through the forward position, Wang Ping and the regimental commander Deng Guoqing commanded two battalions to jump out of the position to counterattack.

During the battle, eight aircraft of the Nationalist army suddenly took turns to dive and strafe, and some soldiers never saw this position, lying still, and the counterattack was blocked. At this time, Wang Ping shouted loudly: "We can't stop, we can't move forward, and rushing past is victory." Seeing wang ping taking the lead in charging forward, the morale of the Red Army was greatly boosted, and it rushed through the dive area of the aircraft in one breath and rushed to the forward position in time, and then, a "thunderbolt" counterattack repelled the attack of the Nationalist army.

In the spring of 1935, the Red Army launched the Battle of Loushan Pass, with the Red Thirteenth Regiment as the vanguard and the Red Eleventh Regiment as the rearguard. At first, the officers and men of the Eleventh Regiment were a little emotional, but Wang Ping was not impressed. After the battle was launched, the Red Thirteenth Regiment occupied the commanding heights of Jinshan, and after fierce fighting, forced the Nationalist army to flee to Zunyi in a panic.

At this time, the eleventh regiment, which was originally a rear guard, became a vanguard, and Wang Ping led his troops along the muddy road from Banqiao to Zunyi, chasing and fiercely fighting for 40 kilometers. Along the way, the slogan was issued: "Resolutely destroy the enemy and occupy Zunyi City again!" Don't be afraid to run, don't be afraid to get tired, and resolutely hold the enemy!" Slogans rose and fell on the march, and morale was high.

On the morning of February 28, the Red Army reoccupied Zunyi.

But In the modernization battle, General Wang Ping's practice of still using slogans is the formalism of empty words.

General Wang Ping fought bravely during the war years, was wounded twice, and was in countless dangers.

In a certain battle, General Wang Ping attacked with his troops, and suddenly felt that his waist was hit by a heavy hammer, and he thought that he would undoubtedly be shot, and he was unharmed after the war. Careful inspection is blocked by a leather file bag, and the warhead clips are inside the bag.

In another battle, General Wang Ping squatted in the fortifications and commanded a counterattack by telephone, and suddenly felt that someone was pushing himself, the force was very large, unstoppable, and his mind was also "buzzing". Cover a mortar shell near the front, deafening.

During another battle break, General Wang Ping and the guard squad leader took a lunch break on a hillside. In the haze, the squad leader "hummed" and opened his eyes to see that a certain soldier wiped his gun and went off, the squad leader was killed, and a bullet pierced through the squad leader's head, and was rubbed by the general's ear.

In another battle, General Wang Ping and Commander Deng Guoqing set up a tunnel to observe the enemy's situation. Suddenly, a bullet hit Commander Deng's hand, the general looked back sharply, and another bullet flew in, and was wiped by the back of his head, fortunately only the skin broke and bleed. If you don't look back, the bullet hits the forehead.

General Wang Ping was not only brave in battle, but also witty.

In April 1927, Chiang Kai-shek staged a coup d'état in Shanghai and went on a killing spree. Xia Douyin, commander of the 14th Independent Division of the National Revolutionary Army who was stationed in Yichang, Hubei Province, sent a telegram to Chiang Kai-shek to help the local tycoons and inferior gentry counterattack and hunt down the leaders of the peasant associations everywhere. One day, a company of Xia Douyin's remnants suddenly surrounded Wang Ping's hometown of Dahu, and a squad of soldiers was ordered to arrest Wang Ping. At that time, Wang Ping was just at the mouth of the village, and he took the initiative to greet him. One soldier asked, "Where does Wang Weiyun live?" Wang Ping replied, "It's right there, and I'll take you there." Wang Ping led them around to the back of the village, pointed to an empty courtyard in front of the hillside, and said, "That's Wang Weiyun's home, so go!" When the Nationalist army dispersed to encircle the empty courtyard, Wang Ping took the opportunity to slip away. "Wang Weiyun", that is, Wang Ping's own nickname.

In November 1934, during the Red Army's Long March, Wang Pingzhi's 11th Regiment was ordered to advance in the direction of Ningyuan to contain the Kuomintang army. Due to a problem with the three armies, on the way back from the mission, they mistakenly entered a valley, and there were Nationalist troops on both sides of the mountain, and the eleventh regiment was in the middle of the attack between the two mountain nationalist troops, which was extremely dangerous. It was early in the morning, and the white fog was vast and indistinguishable from human form. The Nationalist army on the mountain fired two tentative shots, Wang Ping shouted loudly, and the Nationalist army on the mountain immediately stopped shooting. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Wang Ping ordered his troops to quickly withdraw from the dangerous situation.

Mao Zedong received Wang Ping

General Wang Ping and Mao Zedong met during the Long March. One day after the Three Crossings of chishui in the Long March, Wang Ping led the eleventh regiment over a large mountain and suddenly encountered the troops directly under the Central Column of the Central Military Commission. The eleventh regiment descended from the top of the mountain, and the direct subordinate team went up the mountain from the bottom of the mountain and met halfway up the mountainside. At that moment, Wang Ping saw a tall man walking out of the line, holding a stick in his hand, and shouting as he walked: "Big man, stop first, don't go." Wang Ping rushed forward, saw that it was Mao Zedong, did not dare to be idle, and immediately ordered the troops to "stop advancing" and report to Mao Zedong in advance. Mao Zedong said, "You have come just in time, and I will give you a task."

It turned out that according to the report of the Central Military Commission investigators, a division of the enemy army was rushing to attack the central column. In the past, the central column moved together with the Red First Army, but at this time, the main force of the Red First Army had advanced to the direction of Gulin and Xuyong in Sichuan, and there were no troops available for a while. Mao Zedong ordered Wang Ping: "You should immediately go over and intercept and cover the passage of the central and Central Military Commission organs, and the Fifth Red Army will come up to take over and replace you."

Wang Ping received the order and immediately led the eleven regiments to the designated place. The general's later memories:

"That time, it was so dangerous!" Before he could climb to the top of the hill to catch his breath, the enemy came up. The heavenly responsibility concerning the safety of the Party Central Committee was great, and the commanders and fighters of our whole regiment fought desperately until they reached the Fifth Red Army. After handing over the position, he went to catch up with the large troops of the Red Third Army. ”

Because of the good fighting of this battle, the reputation of the "king and the big man" was also called open.

In December 1935, General Wang Ping graduated from the University of the Red Army and was assigned to the 27th Red Army in northern Shaanxi as a political commissar. One day, Mao Zedong summoned the new leader of the Twenty-seventh Army to talk, and the commanders He Jinnian and Wang Ping went to receive the task together.

After explaining the task, Mao Zedong asked, "Is there any difficulty?" At this point, Wang Ping stood up and said: "Chairman of the report, I want to change my name." Mao Zedong seemed puzzled and asked, "Wang Ming, this is a very good name, international representative!" The international representative, that is, the king who returned from the Soviet Union, Akiya. At that time, Wang Ming was very popular in Yan'an. Wang Ping replied, "Because of this, others always call me an international representative, so I want to change my name."

"Okay then!" Mao Zedong took the brush in his hand, and the dragon flew and the phoenix danced and wrote."

In August 1937, the main force of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, and Wang Ping and He Jinnian led the Red Twenty-seventh Army to Zhengning, undertaking the task of guarding from Fuxian County, Shaanxi to Zhengning, Gansu. At that time, the entire army of the Red Twenty-seventh Army only had more than 100 yuan, which was extremely difficult. Wang Ping hardened his scalp and called Mao Zedong and asked for 1,000 yuan in support. Mao Zedong said, "No, I don't have a single dollar." Wang Ping asked, "What if you don't?" Mao Zedong said humorously: "Then think of a way, one person can't think of two people to think, two people can't think of it, just three people think, or think about it, or sleep when they can't think of it, and think about it after sleeping."

Wang Ping had no choice but to come up with a way to raise funds on the spot.

The first to focus on the residents is the director of joint security who uses the earthen fence to hoard grain. After negotiations, guaranteed by the Kuomintang county magistrate, the director of the joint guarantee handed over 5,000 oceans and 500 stones of grain.

Wang Ping called Mao Zedong to report the good news, but Mao Zedong said: "You can't take all the money, according to your original request, leave 1,000 yuan, and send the remaining 4,000 yuan to Yan'an." You can bring as much grain as you want, okay?"

Wang Ping was so anxious that he bargained with Mao Zedong: "That's not okay, we only have 1,000 yuan left, we can't solve the current difficulties!" Finally, after Wang Ping repeatedly explained the difficulties, Mao Zedong reluctantly agreed to Wang Ping's stay of 2,000 yuan.

Wang Ping recalled that at that time, the CPC Central Committee was negotiating with the Kuomintang government on the issue of appropriations. The 3,000 yuan sent by Wang Ping solved the urgent needs of the central authorities.

In 1962, Mao Zedong inspected Nanjing and received cadres at and above the division level and local responsible comrades at the Great Hall of the People in Jiangsu. Also on the rostrum were Jiang Weiqing, secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee, and Hui Yuyu, governor of Jiangsu Province.

Mao Zedong crossed his hands at his waist, stood in the center, and said four sentences in Hunan dialect: "After finishing his words, turn around." After Mao Zedong left the auditorium, he held up his finger to Wang Ping and Xu Shiyou and said, "Don't send it, each running for the future." Immediately get on the bus and run to Shanghai. At that time, Xu Shiyou was the commander of the Nanjing Military Region, and Wang Ping was the political commissar of the Nanjing Military Academy.

Wang Ping and Fan Jingxin

In the ranks of the CCP, due to regional influences, many revolutionaries are "consorts" in a relationship, commonly known as "one burden to pick up." but

After the outbreak of the Lugou Bridge Incident in 1937, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army entered the Fuping area of Hebei Province and established the Jin-Cha-Ji Anti-Japanese Base Area. In September, Wang Ping was ordered by Zhu De and Peng Dehuai to take four people to Fuping County, Hebei Province, to open up an anti-Japanese base area.

Fuping is located in the hinterland of the mountainous area of western Hebei, the people's customs are strong, the masses rise together, and the enthusiasm for resisting Japan is high. At the beginning of October, Wang Ping organized the "Fuping County Chinese National Revolutionary War Field Mobilization Committee" (hereinafter referred to as the "Mobilization Committee") and served as its director, with propaganda, organization, armed forces, women and other departments under it, and the anti-Japanese activities were carried out in full swing. During this period, Wang Ping met Fan Jingxin, then the women's director of the first district of the "Motion Committee" of Fuping County.

The Fan family is a well-known anti-Japanese family in this area: his father, Fan Cheng'er, was the first director of the village committee, his second uncle, Fan Maoru, was the director of the grass-roots traffic station, and his fifth uncle, Fan Yinggao, was also an underground party member. In such a family atmosphere, the sons and daughters of the Fan family have successively embarked on the revolutionary road.

The eldest sister, Fan Jingxin, just graduated from Fuping Simple Normal School and served as the director of the first district of the Fuping County Motion Committee; The second sister Fan Jingming and the daughter of the second uncle Fan Maoru, Fan Jingyang, signed up to join the Third Division Stormtrooper Drama Club and became literary and artistic fighters of the Eighth Route Army. In the flames of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region, the eye-catching Fan family "sister flowers" appeared.

After the establishment of the "Motion Committee" organized by Wang Ping, Fan Jingxin was transferred to the Women's Department, leaving a good impression on Wang Ping. After Wang Ping left Fuping, the two exchanged letters, and their feelings grew.

In January 1939, Wang Ping went to Pingshan, Hebei Province, for a meeting, returned to Jizhong and passed through Fuping, where he married Fan Jingxin, who was then the director of the Fuping County Women's Rescue Association.

In 1941, at the age of 26, Wang Zonghuai was transferred from the organization director of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region to the Third Sub-district as the director of the Political Department. After reporting in, Wang Ping, the political commissar of the sub-district, was about to introduce him to the target as soon as he finished talking about his work. This object is his sister-in-law Fan Jingming. Wang Zonghuai and Fan Jingming fell in love at first sight, and their feelings developed day by day. In June 1944, Wang Zonghuai and Fan Jingming ended the Qin and Jin dynasties in Yan'an. Wang Zonghuai, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, served as deputy political commissar of the Kunming Military Region and deputy political commissar of the Second Artillery Corps, and was awarded the rank of lieutenant general in 1955.

In 1940, Fan Jingyang, who joined the revolution with his two sisters, married Yi Yaocai. Yi Yaocai was then the chief of staff of the Fourth Military Subdistrict of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the first deputy commander and political commissar of the North Sea Fleet, and was awarded the rank of major general in 1955.
