Bronze statues of Chiang Kai-shek on the island of Taiwan became "second-hand goods" and appeared in the Kaohsiung flea market

In December 2022, Taiwan's internal affairs department issued new regulations that provide NT$100,000 for each bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo's father and son removed. At that time, it was proposed that the demolished bronze statue could be sent to the thrift market to make another profit. Now, three months later, it is clear that this policy has been implemented. A bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek has appeared in the thrift market in Kaohsiung, and there are traces of wind and rain erosion.

However, Taipei Mayor Jiang Wan'an, who claims to be a descendant of the Chiang family, could not even keep the bronze statue of his great-grandfather, and when this policy was introduced, he only said lightly: "Public opinion politics is Taiwan's precious asset", which means that if Taiwan's public opinion wants the bronze statues of the two Chiang to disappear, then he also approves.
