Antecedent: Lü Bu killed Dong Zhuo
Lü Bu kills Dong Zhuo: In 192, Lü Bu conspired with Wang Yun to kill Dong Zhuo, so his old subordinates Li Wei and Guo Qiang, fearing that they would become the next Dong Zhuo, raised troops to besiege Chang'an.
In 192, Dong Zhuo was just beheaded by Lü Bu, and his old subordinates Li Wei (jué), Guo Zhuo (sì) and others captured Chang'an under the guise of avenging Dong Zhuo, killing the mastermind Situ Wang Yun, Lü Bu fled in defeat and defected to Yuan Shao. From then on, Li and Guo controlled the Han emperor Liu Xie and held the imperial government for four years.

When Dong Zhuo was killed, his Liangzhou generals Li Wei and Guo Xian were stationed in Shaanxi County. Fearing that they would harm themselves, they took the initiative to beg Wang Yun of Chang'an for pardon, but Wang Yun refused, and wanted to deprive the generals of Liangzhou of their military power.
Li Guo and the others planned to flee back to Liangzhou. At this time, Jia Xu, Dong Zhuo's former adviser, encouraged them to kill back to Chang'an and "come to Kuang Zheng Tianxia by the Son of Heaven", that is, to follow Dong Zhuo's old path, "take the Son of Heaven" and take charge of the dynasty.
Therefore, Li Wei, Guo Xiao and others led thousands of troops to Chang'an overnight.
When Wang Yun learned that Li and Guo were going to rebel, he immediately sent Dong Zhuo's old subordinates Xu Rong and Hu Yi to meet them. The two sides met in Xinfeng County, and as a result, the veteran Xu Rong would rather die in battle than surrender. Instead, Hu Yi led his troops to surrender.
In this way, Li and Guo collected stragglers all the way, and then joined other old troops, gathering a total of more than 100,000 troops.
The menacing Li and Guo troops besieged the city of Chang'an for eight days and had not yet broken through. Why is that? According to the "History of Chinese Architecture", the height of the Han Chang'an city wall is more than 12 meters, and the width of the lower part is 12 to 16 meters thick.
In other words, the capital city in the Western Han Dynasty had high walls, easy to defend and difficult to achieve, and of course could not be broken for a while. Therefore, Li Wei and Guo Qiangxing's troops came to attack, and they were immediately blocked by the city defense fortifications, and there was no suspense at all.
But as a result, two days later, they successfully broke through the city and drove away Lü Bu, a flying general who could fight a good battle.

It is not that the city defense is not strong enough, nor is there enough food and grass in the city, but that internal ghosts have appeared.
This inner ghost is "chaotic intrusion". "Soldiers" means Shu soldiers.
A few Shu soldiers who opened the door to let Li Wei and Guo Qiang's troops enter the city were the subordinates of Zhao Qian and Zhao Wen, the brothers of the Yizhou family.
The reason why the Zhao brothers rebelled was on the one hand from Wang Yun's pressure; On the other hand, the Zhao brothers' nest is likely to be related to Lü Bu's lecherousness.
After Dong Zhuo was killed and took power, Wang Yun began to suppress dissidents. The first raised the butcher knife against Cai Yong of the Central Plains Shi clan; Then, he was wary of the Guan sergeants such as Sun Rui and Yang Zan who assassinated Dong Zhuo, and did not impose a reward; He even turned on the mode of contempt for his accomplice, Lü Bu, and treated him as a "swordsman".
Therefore, the brothers Zhao Qian and Zhao Wen, who are former generals, are worried that it will be their turn next.
At the same time, Lü Bu has always had a hobby of cuckolding his subordinates, and even later there was an incident of running naked with his wife. In the "Records of the Three Kingdoms", it was evaluated that he "betrayed his wife and loved the generals", which made the ministry generals how could they endure.

The defection of the Yizhou brothers Zhao Qian and Zhao Wen allowed Li Wei and Guo Wanjun to easily break through Chang'an City.
After the successful siege, Zhao Qian and Zhao Wen also took the position of Situ successively as they wished, and began the old path of Dong Zhuo who controlled the imperial government by force.
Consequences: Cao Cao blackmailed the Son of Heaven to order the princes
Cao Cao held the Son of Heaven hostage to order the princes: Li Wei and Guo Xiao after they attacked Chang'an, and they controlled the imperial government, and also held Emperor Xian of Han hostage. Until 196, under the escort of the military generals Yang Feng, Dong Cheng, the Son of Heaven escaped from Chang'an and prepared to move east. At this time, Cao Cao took the initiative to welcome the Son of Heaven and move the capital to Xuchang, and from then on Cao Cao was able to "hold the Son of Heaven to order the princes".
Conclusion: Li Wei, Guo Xiao and others in the old department of Liangzhou besieged Chang'an and held the Son of Heaven hostage for four years, but it was still only a continuation and copy of Dong Zhuo's hegemonic dynasty and the public, and the effect was not the same as Cao Cao's "holding the Son of Heaven to order the princes" after welcoming the Son of Heaven into Xuchang.
