Directed by Chen Sicheng, starring Wang Baoqiang and Liu Haoran, and starring her husband Mu Cong, Tony Jia, Masami Nagasawa and others, the movie "Detective Chinatown 3" was postponed for one year and released nationwide on the first day of the Chinese New Year in 2021.
The film tells the story of "Bangkok Gold Murder Case" and "New York Five Elements Serial Murder Case", "Chinatown Detective Group" Tang Ren and Qin Feng were invited to Tokyo by Noda Hao to investigate a bizarre murder case. The Japanese detective Noda Hao, played by his wife Satoshi Mu, has also become an important role in the story of "Tang Detective 3".

In 1997, the 17-year-old wife Satoshi Mu participated in a Japanese talent show, stood out from 3 million people and won the highest award, embarked on the road of acting, and had a steady career, filming representative works such as "Five Splashing Teenagers", "Evil Man", "Anger", and cooperating with director Hou Xiaoxian in "Assassin Nie Yinniang". And "Detective Chinatown 3" is his second collaboration with director Chen Sicheng.
The interview was completed before the Spring Festival in 2020, and his wife Mu Cong came to China to promote the film, and chatted with the Beijing News reporter about the filming experience of the film, as well as the previous cooperation with director Hou Xiaoxian and the Chinese and Japanese wine culture.
Dress too fancy in life and feel shy
Detective Noda Hao, played by his wife Satoshi Mu in the movie "Detective Chinatown 3", is golden, narcissistic, and often posts selfies online, which may not look very likable, but is also a warm person. In the film, his costume style is mainly red or flower color, bright and high-profile.
During the filming of "Detective Chinatown 3", his appearance in the film was photographed by the Japanese media, and he mistakenly thought that this was the dressing style in the life of his wife, Satoshi Mu. "Actually, they don't understand, it's filming." His wife, Satoshi Mu, said that because he wanted to perform Noda Hao's narcissism, he would wear such clothes, but in real life, he would never wear it like this, and he would be shy.
His wife, Satoshi Mu, said that he would feel shy if he had to dress up as fancy in the movies in his life.
The filming of "Detective Chinatown 3" also allowed his wife Satoshi Mu to have many unforgettable experiences, and most of the filming locations in the film were also the first time to go as a Japanese wife, Satoshi Mu. For example, in the courtyard of Hama Rigu Palace in Tokyo, he found it particularly beautiful, and through Chinese movies, he discovered that there was such a good place in Japan.
In addition, there is a scene where several protagonists quarrel in different national languages, Chinese, Japanese, English... It was very interesting and difficult for his wife, Mu Satoshi, to find it very difficult, "Everyone looked at each other's expressions and guessed whether the other was finished, so it was particularly funny when performing."
Everything about "Assassin Nie Yinniang" stems from his laughter
Shijing Yaguchi, the director of the film "Five Splashing Teenagers" (2001), said that if he let his wife, Mu Satoshi play a role that liked two girls at the same time, the audience felt that they could be forgiven, but if others came to play, they would definitely be scolded as scumbags. Ikematsu, an actor who has collaborated on the film Our Family (2014), commented that his wife, Satoshi Mu, is a "super gentle person who makes the people around me feel very happy, and even makes me wonder if I am too evil."
Especially his smile was healing. Director Hou Xiaoxian has told screenwriter Xie Haimeng more than once that the story of "Assassin Nie Yinniang" "began to be conceived after seeing the smile of his wife Mu Cong." Nie Yinniang's personality is dark and tortuous, what kind of character can open her sealed innocent side? Hou Xiaoxian's answer is to find someone whose smile is as bright as sunshine and who can make the viewer want to laugh with it. This person is his wife, Mu Cong.
"The director never seems to have said in front of me that he should tell me directly and I will be happier," his wife, Satoshi Mu, joked. In "Assassin Nie Yinniang", in a faction of murderous, sad, and cold character faces, the mirror-grinding teenager played by his wife Mu Cong is the only character as fresh as the sun, and even Nie Yinniang has a rare smile in front of him.

However, the film was shot without a complete script, and his wife, Mu Satoshi, experienced this way of working for the first time, and was very surprised and nervous every time, "After arriving at the scene, he gave me a page of Chinese script and said that he wanted to memorize it, at that time I had not yet learned to Chinese, so I relied on rote memorization, and the results were cut." ”
Filming "Wicked Man" was too deep into the drama and did not come out for two years
In interviews, Satoshi Mu mentioned at least four times the film "Wicked Man" (2010) starring him.
When he first entered the industry, his wife Mu Cong listened to others say that an actor should have a personality, but because of his gentle personality, he was always said to have no personality by others. "In fact, there is no personality, but it is also a kind of personality." However, he will try to choose some characters with personalities.
"The Wicked Man" is one of the works that had the greatest influence on him.
In order to star in the movie "Wicked Man", his wife Mu Satoshi specially dyed his yellow hair.
Since "Wicked Man", Satoshi Mu has changed his way of acting, and every time he receives a role, he will spend a lot of time thinking about where the character lives, and then go to that place to experience life. In the film, he plays a construction worker who runs back to his hometown to work, lives with the workers, dyes his hair, and tries to be as close as possible to the character. He also won the Japan Academy Award for Best Actor for this role.
On the day of the launch of the movie "Fury" (2016), Watanabe Ken, a senior who worked with him, was afraid that his wife, Satoshi Mu, would enter the drama too deeply and warned him: "Don't bet your life on the movie." However, after playing "Wicked Man", his wife, Satoshi Mu, remained immersed in the role and "probably didn't come out for two years", during which time fortunately he had family and friends around him. Although I made other movies later, it was no problem to enter other roles, but as long as I returned to my own life, I was still in the role of "Wicked Man".
——Sino-Japanese Wine Culture——
"It turns out that in China, toast is to be drunk"
His wife, Satoshi Mu, likes to drink, and always drinks a little alcohol the night before his vacation, and then gradually feels guilty about getting up in the afternoon, so he has some control. On a trip to London to shoot an advertisement, he and Oguri were on the plane, cup after cup, a bit like a tavern, and asked the flight attendant to refill the cup until the fourth cup, when the flight attendant stopped.
He thought that the amount of alcohol was OK, but he bowed down in front of Chinese, "Chinese's alcohol is very strong." He remembers the first time he went to South Korea to participate in the Busan International Film Festival and drank with Chinese, Japanese and Korean filmmakers, "In Japan, we say toast is to touch the glass, and then drink a little bit. At that time, Koreans and Chinese came to toast, and after toasting, I only drank a little, and they said that the toast was to be finished. As a result, I drank five beers that day, and then I felt really terrible."
Beijing News: Chinese movie fans have given you a nickname called "Little Seven", you know?
Satoshi Mu: I've heard about it before, and maybe everyone thinks it's more cordial to call it that way, and I think it's pretty good.
Beijing News: You are actually a relatively prolific actor, do you like this rhythm of filming?
Satoshi Mu: I make about three or four films a year, including some characters that are not starring. In fact, I am not very accustomed to a long period of rest, for example, when filming Hou Xiaoxian's "Assassin Nie Yinniang", because of various situations, I took a month off in the middle, and I didn't know what to do, I could only drink every day, and I gained a lot of weight. Therefore, I can't rest as a person and should work all the time.
Beijing News: Have you participated in three Chinese films, "Assassin Nie Yinniang", "Detective Chinatown 2" and "Detective Chinatown 3", and are there any Chinese directors who especially want to cooperate?
Satoshi Mu: Not long ago, I watched "The Last Night of the Earth" directed by Bi Gan and thought it was very good, so I hope to have the opportunity to cooperate with him. I also really like director Ang Lee, and of course I hope to work with director Hou Xiaoxian again.
