The second season of the stage play "Blossoms" has been officially established a few days ago, and it is determined that it will be staged at the Majestic Theater from November 28 to December 5. Four years after the release of the first season, this stage play will open a new chapter. In the new season, more than ten new characters will appear in the play, including Tao Tao, Mei Rui, Xiaoqin, Chun xiang, Xuezhi, Teacher Li, Reiko, Ah Bao's father, etc. With the release of the main creator and cast of the crew, it is particularly noteworthy that Shanghainese performance artist Pan Hong will join the second season of "Blossoms" and play the role of Teacher Li, which is also after 17 years of the star version of "Thunderstorm" in 2004, Pan Hong has returned to the stage after a long absence.

The stage play "Blossoms" is based on Jin Yucheng's novel of the same name, "Blossoms", and at the beginning of its premiere in 2018, the creative concept of "stage drama" was established, and the stage interpretation of this huge work was completed with the volume of three seasons, and the three seasons were independent and interconnected with each other.
The first season of "Blossoms" has been performed 56 times in four years, and has always been welcomed by the audience and the market. At the end of 2020, the co-producers Shanghai Wenguang Performing Arts Group and Shanghai Wumeng Culture began the conception and creation of the second season of the stage play "Blossoms", and followed the main creative team model led by the original author Jin Yucheng, screenwriter Wen Fangyi and director Ma Junfeng, and strived to maintain the artistic standards of the previous season.
The first season of the stage drama "Blossoms" crossed the two timelines in the 60s and 90s of the last century, using the process of the three brothers in the original book (Ah Bao, Hu Sheng and Xiao Mao) from "acquaintance to renunciation" as the clue to the whole play, while the second season described how the three brothers went from "breaking off to reuniting" to string together the complicated stories of the new season. Many characters who did not appear in the first season will appear one after another, presenting a feast of mixed conditions and a rare lament in this life.
The producer and the main creative team said that the second season will go further in "contemporary expression", from "relative realism" to "relative freehand", to achieve the purpose of inheriting the spirit of the city and a new urban style, showing "Shanghai in memory", "Shanghai now" and "Shanghai in the future".

The stage design is directed by Liu Kedong, who will combine the architectural characteristics of Shanghai with the special era vocabulary in the original "Blossoms", strive to break through the stage framework of the first season, and pursue the "sense of depth", "poetic sense" and "imagination" in the stage language. In the first season, the well-received music design B6 and lighting design Tan Hua will once again join the main creative team. Costume styling designer Hu Xiaohui will also help the character styling of this play.
In terms of cast, in addition to some of the actors in the first season, there are many outstanding Shanghai actors who have joined. One of the most concerned is undoubtedly the addition of Pan Hong, who chose the second season of "Blossoms" as his return after 17 years of leaving the stage.
