Later, after being recommended, Yu Chenghui, who was the martial arts instructor of the Ningxia Wushu Team at the time, finally said that he starred in this epoch-making movie under the persuasion of bitter persuasion.
At that time, Yu Chenghui was over 40 years old, and although he was a newcomer in the film circle, he was already famous in the martial arts world.
One
On August 16, 1939, Yu Chenghui was born in Penglai, Shandong Province, a place where martial arts novels often appear.
Because he was naughty and active since he was a child, and he loved to fight, he was sent by his father to learn martial arts and wanted to hone his temperament.
Yu Chenghui, who grew up listening to martial arts novels, has a natural yearning for jianghu chivalry.
Since then, he has adopted his heart, concentrated on hard training, and never fought with anyone again.
In 1951, at the age of 12, Yu Chenghui entered the Qingdao Amateur Sports School to study martial arts, and nine years later, he won the all-around championship in the Qingdao Wushu Competition and was selected to join the wushu team of Shandong Provincial Institute of Physical Education.
In 1963, Yu Chenghui participated in the martial arts competition in East China, surprised four people with a set of drunken sword skills, and unsurprisingly won the championship.
Note: In "Shaolin Temple", he played Jet Li's nemesis Wang Renze, and it was with this set of drunken swords that he conquered every audience in front of the screen.
However, fate tricked people, just when the 24-year-old Yu Chenghui was just emerging in the martial arts world, he injured his leg during a training session and had to retire early.
After he left the martial arts team, he was assigned to the Huangtai Paper Machinery Factory in Shandong Province, where he worked as a crane driver.
The young Yu Chenghui did not recognize his fate, he could not let go of his favorite martial arts, he had been practicing martial arts for more than ten years, how could he say that he would lose it?
He endured the temperament to recuperate from the injury, poured all his spare time into martial arts after work, never forgot to study and exercise, and his social activities were basically zero, and he was called "martial fool".
During this time, one of the projects he devoted himself to was to restore the "two-handed sword" that had long been lost in history.
What does that guy say is a "two-handed sword"?
"Two-handed sword", as the name suggests, is a kind of play with a sword in both hands, which is said to be the most formal way to hold a sword when facing the enemy on the ancient battlefield.
The two-handed sword technique can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty's strange knife playing method.
Bruce Lee said: "Waist and horse unity", the strength of the waist is the source of the strength of the whole body, with both hands holding the Tang knife, you can give full play to the waist strength. The Miao knife improved by the Ming Dynasty anti-Wu soldiers also followed this technique.
However, in modern times, the sword method is mainly one-handed, such as the Taiji sword and the shape sword are one-handed.
It is said that this originated in marksmanship, where the other hand is freed up to hold the shield.
As martial arts have evolved in the direction of weighing their shape rather than their use, one-handed swords have become more and more common, and two-handed swords have been lost.
Legend has it that Zhang Sanfeng Zhenren, a martial arts taidou, had the True Martial Emperor dream of teaching Taijiquan, and Yu Chenghui also had this opportunity.
In the early morning of September 15, 1975, during a rainstorm, he saw the image of mantises wielding "giant axes" in trees and "fighting" with thunderstorms, and finally realized the true meaning of the two-handed sword.
In the following 4 years, he immersed himself in research and continuous improvement, and finally created the mantis-shaped "Twenty Methods of "Two-Handed Sword".
This set of sword techniques danced like clouds and flowing water, containing a huge impact, dazzling, shocking the entire domestic martial arts industry.
In the spring of 1979, the Ningxia Wushu Team graciously invited Yu Chenghui to be the coach.
Yu Chenghui cherished this hard-won and noble job very much, and when director Zhang Xinyan found him, he repeatedly stressed that he would come back to teach after acting. Who knew that with the sensation caused by "Shaolin Temple" in the world, Yu Chenghui's acting life was also fully opened.
Two
"Shaolin Temple" was released in 1982, and in the same year, Yu Chenghui was invited to work as a martial arts designer in the Shandong TELEVISION drama "Wu Song", and starred in Zhang Tuanlian in the play, playing a wave of soy sauce.
Shortly thereafter, Zhang Xinyan invited him again to play Bao Shengfeng in "Shaolin Kid".
"Shaolin Kid" was originally called "Dragon And Phoenix Village", the story itself is very light and funny, not as bitter and vengeful as "Shaolin Temple".
Bao Shengfeng is also a serious and slightly funny positive character, but Yu Chenghui's non-angry and threatening image still frightens a little fart like Pi Ge.
"Shaolin Kid" also achieved unprecedented success, and then Shaw Company also took a fancy to the Shaolin kung fu theme, digging jet Li and other original people to star in "North and South Shaolin" directed by Liu Jialiang, and Yu Chenghui became the main villain in the film, Herso.
Interestingly, Yu Chenghui and Ji Chunhua are always inseparable, and when Yu Chenghui plays a positive character, Ji Chunhua is the big villain;
When Yu Chenghui played the main villain, Ji Chunhua retreated to the second line to play the thugs around him.
"Yellow River Hero" is a film tailored by director Zhang Xinyan for Yu Chenghui, in which he starred as the protagonist Of the Yellow River Hero Ma Yi.
The male no. 2 car was originally designed for Jet Li, but Jet Li refused, so he was replaced by a newcomer Chun Yu Shanshan, so that Jet Li finally missed the fourth cooperation with Yu Chenghui.

After 2000, with the decline of mainland martial arts movies, Yu Chenghui also turned his focus to TV dramas, starring in roles such as famous villains or martial arts masters.

Played Fu Qingjue in "Seven Swords Under the Heavenly Mountain";

The association with director Xu Haofeng is Yu Chenghui's last gorgeous performance in the film.
He played the role of "the first master" Qiu Dongyue in "The Trail of Wokou", dancing a double-peaked six-gun with a mysterious hand.
Playing the hermit master Kuang Yimin in "The Arrow Soldier Willow White Ape", he is also a gun, although simple and solemn, it contains great destructive power, which is chilling.

Zhou Dong was an idol in Chenghui's heart, but unfortunately, until his death, he still failed to fulfill this wish.
On July 4, 2015, Yu Chenghui died of lung disease in the middle of filming the TV series "Qinglian Wei Zheng", at the age of 76.
This TV series has not been completed so far, and he still owes three films directed by Xu Haofeng to be completed, which has also become a permanent regret for the audience.
A generation of martial arts masters left, Wu Jing, Wu Fan, and other stars sent him off, and there was no real hero in Chinese martial arts films.
