The mother-in-law behind the "Reign of Wenjing" - Emperor Wen of Han's wife Dou Shi and Emperor Hanjing's wife Wang Shi

Their fates are independent but intertwined. Because they are mothers-in-law, and none of them are the wives of their respective husbands. At this point, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law have a similar marriage process.

The only difference is that Dou is a woman who follows the flow and is at the mercy of fate, while Wang is an example of striving for strength.

The biggest thing that the Dou Wang family really has in common is that they are all from the lowest level of society, but they are favored by fate and leap to the peak of wealth and power.

First, the girl of the Zhao Kingdom who was sent to the palace

Empress Dowager Dou, known as Dou Fang, was a native of Guanjin, Qinghe, Zhao State (present-day Wuyi, Hebei), she came from a commoner family, and before the death of Gaozu Liu Bang and the rise of Empress Dowager Lü He, Dou Ji, who was still a naïve girl, was selected by beauty pageant officials and sent to Chang'an Palace as a palace maid.

Dou Ji's parents died early, and his family was poor, and in the era of frequent wars in the late Qin and early Han dynasties, the Dou family often did not eat the next. In order to find food, Dou Ji's father was forced to go fishing in a deep pool outside Guanjin City, but he slipped into the deep pool and died in the belly of a fish. Dou's mother suffered this blow in hardship, and soon passed away, leaving Dou Ji's three brothers and sisters struggling in the world.

However, the days of pain and poverty still did not wear away Dou Ji's natural beauty, and she grew into a graceful girl. Not only do I manage my brothers' food, clothing, and living, but I also dream of being able to marry a good family and find a way out for my brothers and myself. You don't need to think about it to know how important Dou Ji is in such a family. However, the emperor is concerned about human rights, and in order to satisfy the emperor's lust, the beauty pageant will not care about the life or death of the little brothers.

Before leaving, Dou Ji and her brother hugged each other and cried.

For his little brother, who is still unable to take care of himself, Dou Ji is even more reluctant. She begged for a basin of hot water and a bowl of cold rice from the post station where she started, and finally washed her brother's head once, and watched him finish eating, and then boarded the car with tears in her eyes and left.

Dou Ji originally went here with the despair of life and death from now on, but she did not expect that the best luck in the world would be closely connected with her with the wooden wheel of the stagecoach.

Because of Dou Ji's gentle character, she became a little maid in Lu He's palace.

Soon after, Liu Bang died. Lü He, who became the empress dowager, sent Liu Bang's sons to the kingdom, and at the same time gave them five palace maids each.

Dou Ji was among the thirty-five palace maids selected—Liu Bang had a total of eight sons, so the princes who came out of the country were seven. Fifty-seven is, of course, thirty-five.

Dou Ji heard that Gaozu had a son named Ruyi who was named King of Zhao, which was his hometown. She never dreamed that she could become the favored concubine of any Wang Ye, she just wanted to be closer to her hometown so that she could inquire about her brother who had been away for a long time.

So Dou Ji gave all his meager personal savings to the eunuch in charge of distributing palace people, asking him to be extra gracious and include his name in the list of dispatchers to Zhao.

However, the head of the eunuch had many noble people, and Dou Ji's little loose silver did not make him pay much attention at all, so when it was time to distribute, he still casually ticked a large pen, and conveniently put Dou Ji on the list of deportations to Daiguo (Jinyang, Shanxi).

When the list was finally approved by the emperor, Dou Ji realized that he had actually been given to the acting king.

Jinyang, Shanxi and Wuyi, Hebei are far apart. Anyone knows that once he enters the palace gate as deep as the sea, Dou Ji understands that he is only afraid that he will be buried in Shanxi for the rest of his life, so he will never want to know a trace of news about his hometown.

Things came to this point, Dou Ji was almost desperate, and couldn't help but cry like rain, resenting the eunuch who arranged life and death at will, and refused to step on the palace car that traveled far away.

The head of the eunuch was very annoyed that this always docile little palace maid was so stubborn at this time, and while threatening in his mouth, he called his subordinates, dragged and dragged, and forcibly threw Dou Ji, who was crying to death, into the palace car, and strictly supervised all the way to Daiguo.

However, no one expected that things would take a dramatic turn when Liu Heng, the acting king, met the five palace maidens.

The palace maids carefully selected in the palace are also outstanding without thinking, and although Dou Ji is beautiful, she washes her face with tears along the way, and it is impossible to be as beautiful and beautiful as the other four. However, among the five palace maidens, Liu Heng, the acting king, did not look at the four who competed, but only liked Dou Ji, who looked lonely.

So the god of fate began to show the first miracle: of the five palace maids who entered the palace at the same time, four were still palace maidens, while Dou Ji became the favored concubine and prince princess of the dai king. And gave birth to three children in a row: the eldest daughter Liu Yan, the eldest son Liu Qi, and the second son Liu Wu.

Of course, the harem of the acting king Liu Heng is not simple, his mother Empress Dowager Bo is the master of the harem, and he also has the queen, this queen has a higher status than Dou Ji, and has given birth to four princes before and after.

However, although the palace is complicated, it is already heaven for Dou Ji, she is very content that she can be favored by the prince and have children, and she is very respectful to the Empress Dowager Bo and the queen and even the princes who are concubines, and live the life of the prince's concubine in peace.

Dou Ji's self-denial, as well as her poor and difficult experience, in the eyes of the acting king Liu Heng and the Empress Dowager Bo and the queen, added a bit of favor and pity, and Dou Ji won a good reputation inside and outside in the kingdom.

Second, as if in a dream, Dou Ji suddenly rose into the sky and became the fourth empress of the Han Dynasty. Complete all the transformations of a sparrow into a phoenix.

In the blink of an eye, several years have passed. A major event happened in the Dai Kingdom: the Dai Queen died of illness. Liu Heng, the acting king, was only in his twenties, and there was no one to feed him, and it became a priority to succeed him as a queen. (At this time, Liu Heng was only in his early twenties, and his former queen had already given birth to four princes for him, and the reason for this queen's weak and early death was not related to excessive fertility?) Dou Ji endures hardships and stands hard work, and fertility should not be a problem, but for the queen who has been pampered since childhood, I am afraid it will become a big problem. )

At this time, in the Dai Wang Palace, the only female dependents who had a son were Dou Ji. So at the suggestion of Empress Dowager Bo, Dou Ji began to take charge of the queen's palace affairs.

While the contemporary kingdom was calmly taking care of household affairs, Chang'an, the capital city thousands of miles away, was undergoing earth-shaking changes.

After a thrilling political battle, the Lü family was completely annihilated, and Liu Ying's son, the little emperor Liu Hong, was also killed. The imperial throne of the Han Dynasty was vacant, and after deliberating with Prime Minister Zhou Ping, Imperial Lieutenant Zhou Bo and others, among the kings surnamed Liu, Liu Heng was selected as the acting king.

Funny to say, one of the most important reasons why Liu Heng was chosen was that his mother, Empress Dowager Bo, and his acting queen, Dou Ji, were poor and cautious women, and their families not only had few relatives, but also were honest friends.

In 180 BC, Liu Heng officially became emperor, the historical Emperor Xiaowen of Han.

In October of the first year of Emperor Xiaowen, Liu Heng, who had already settled in Chang'an City, sent his uncle to ride the general Bo Zhao to Daiguo to meet his mother Empress Dowager Bo and his concubines. Dou Ji and the children followed the carriage and horse and also came to Chang'an City. After sixteen years, when she returned to the Chang'an Imperial Palace, Dou Ji was reborn.

Just when Liu Heng first ascended to the throne, busy with government affairs and familiar with officials, unfortunate things happened again in his harem.

Or because of the disease of the birth mother, and the road is bumpy and hard. Coupled with the environment of Chang'an City that was not suitable for winter, the four sons born to Liu Hengfa's wife all died of illness one after another before spring came. Liu Heng lamented that his blessings might not be enough to be qualified for the position of emperor, so that his concubine was lost, and when Yueshi asked him to make him crown prince, he even had the idea of making his uncles and brothers heirs.

Although Liu Heng's remarks did not know whether his intentions were true or false, they also scared the ministers into a cold sweat: they chose this most inconspicuous prince as emperor, needless to say that they offended other princes surnamed Liu. If this master wanted to pass the throne to those princes who were vetoed by the ministers, then the next emperor would never spare the Manchu Dynasty's sin of not supporting the throne in the first place.

So the ministers repeatedly consulted, saying a lot of great principles that the heir must be the son. Liu Heng finally agreed with resentment, and made Liu Qi, the eldest son of Dou Ji and his current eldest son, crown prince that month.

In March, the ministers again asked Emperor Wen to be empressed. Empress Dowager Bo, as the head of the harem, said to Liu Heng: "Now your son, whether it is a prince or a king, They were all born to Dou Ji, and of course she should be made empress. ”

As a result, as if in a dream, Dou Ji suddenly rose into the sky and became the fourth empress of the Han Dynasty. Complete all the transformations of a sparrow into a phoenix.

In order for Dou Ji to become the mother of the country and express his intention to be happy with the people, Liu Qi issued a decree to give cloth, rice, flour and meat to all widows, widows, lonely people and poor people in the world, and for the elderly over 80 years old and orphans under 9 years old, the number was even more one stone of rice, 20 catties of meat, five buckets of wine, two horses, and three catties of cotton wool per person.

So the people were grateful to the new queen.

After the people received food and clothing because of herself, Empress Dou thought of her long-lost brother and parents who died in poverty.

As the saying goes, the world has children in order to retire and die, although Empress Dou is already very noble, but she does not dare to take the liberty to make a request to honor her deceased parents - because Empress Dowager Bo is busy honoring the ancestors of the Bo family, Empress Dou does not dare to follow suit, she has always been cautious in front of her husband and mother-in-law, so although she misses her deceased father and lost brother, she does not dare to take the initiative to ask for a visit and respect.

Due to the reasons of the establishment and the poor people, Empress Dou's life history is also widely spread among the people. Especially her surname and hometown, more people know it.

Empress Dou's life soon reached the ears of a slave.

He is Empress Dou's long-lost younger brother Dou Guangguo. Dou Guangguo character Shaojun, when his sister was selected to be sent to the palace, he was only four or five years old. Because his brother had to go out to work every day and there was no sister to take care of him at home, Shaojun was soon abducted and trafficked. He was sold more than a dozen times, grew up struggling in displacement, and finally settled down when he was finally sold to a wealthy family in Yiyang, Henan Province.

At this time, Dou Shaojun was already twenty years old and was sent by his master to burn charcoal deep in the mountains. He sells coolies during the day and sleeps under the mud walls of stone cliffs with hundreds of charcoal burners at night. Who knew that one night, the landslides poured, the entire temporary shack was buried by rubble and mud, hundreds of charcoal burners died, only Dou Shaojun was squeezed to the edge of the shack by the foreman when he was fighting for a lying position because of his young age and weakness.

So many slaves and hired workers died at once, all the families of the deceased cried and cried, and the rich man's family could not stay in Yiyang, Henan, so they had to hide far away in Chang'an City to avoid the limelight. Dou Shaojun naturally followed his master and moved to Chang'an.

Probably a blessing for his great difficulty and not dying, the first thing Dou Shaojun did when he arrived in Chang'an was to take a fortune and see how the future was. Who knew that he received a message from Piji Tailai, saying that not only would he no longer have to worry about his life, but he would also become an imperial prince and be a marquis within a few days.

Dou Shaojun was half-convinced of this divination result, but when he heard that the new empress was the Guanjin Dou clan, he felt like he had just woken up from a dream, so he had the courage to write to himself, saying that he was the empress's long-lost younger brother.

The official who received the letter did not dare to snub, and quickly reported the news to the royal family.

Emperor Wen then summoned the slave with Empress Dou.

However, the years have passed, Empress Dou has been pampered in the palace for more than ten years, and her appearance is not much different from the past, and Dou Shaojun was a toddler when he broke up with his sister, but he was an adult at this time, he knew his sister, but his sister could no longer recognize him. Although he still remembered that he had accidentally fallen off a tree while going to Caisang with his sister, Empress Dou did not dare to admit her relatives. So he asked him, "Is there anything else to verify?" ”

Dou Shaojun did not hesitate, and recalled the scene of his sister parting with himself in the post station before entering the palace, and Mu Fa begging for food. (He was only four or five years old at the time, and his memory was already so good, he was really smart.) It can be seen that Empress Dou is also a smart woman. )

After hearing this, Empress Dou couldn't control her emotions, and hugged her younger brother tightly regardless of her identity, and the siblings burst into tears. The eunuchs on the left and right also fell to the ground and wept out to set off the empress's grief. (I wonder what this rule is?) Now thinking back to this group of fake howling guys, I only feel that the original sadness has been taught to mess with them. )

Emperor Wen was also quite impressed by his wife's ability to reunite with his brother, so he rewarded the Dou brothers with a field house and a large amount of money to live in Chang'an nearby.

Empress Dowager Bo also had great pity for her daughter-in-law's life, and immediately issued an edict, posthumously naming Empress Dou's father as Marquis An Cheng and her mother as Lady An Cheng, setting up a cemetery for them in Dou's hometown of Qinghe, sealing 200 households, and worshipping at four hours according to the size of Bo's ancestral hall.

Third, the queen's career in the dark

Empress Dou, who was originally lonely and helpless, suddenly appeared two brothers in the prime of life, which caused goosebumps among the military generals of the Wen Chen, who had enough of the suffering of the Lü family, lest the Han Dynasty emerge from an outbreak of outdoor qi, and they did not know how to get up or fall than the Lu family.

Therefore, they made a strong move first, and the marquis of Jiang, the general Guan, and others came out to advise Emperor Wen, saying that the Dou brothers were from humble backgrounds, did not understand etiquette and had no knowledge, so it was not suitable to appoint official positions, so they had to be rich and idlers, and they had to choose some elders with moral ethics and learning to live next to them, and supervise and teach them every day.

Emperor Wen adopted this opinion. So Dou Changjun and Dou Shaojun became humble gentlemen in this education, and for a long time, not only did they not participate in political affairs, but even the honorable status of the uncle consciously ignored.

Therefore, the Manchu dynasty and the military and the military could not help but celebrate with the crown in no one's place.

In the first year of Emperor Wen, Dou Yifang became empress, his eldest son Liu Qi became the crown prince, and his eldest daughter Liu Yan became a princess, and the Dou family also died in mourning, Dou Yifang's youngest son Liu Wu was also made a substitute king.

Acting king, was the title before Emperor Wen Liu Heng succeeded to the throne as emperor, and now Liu Heng gave his own name to Liu Wu, needless to say, in the eyes of Emperor Wen and Empress Dou, Liu Wu was the cutest child, even more popular than the crown prince Liu Qi.

However, the emperor and empress pampered their younger son's behavior, and the ministers could not see it, thinking that this kind of favor would affect national affairs, so Liu Wu soon changed his title from acting king to king of Liang. However, the title can be changed, in the minds of his parents, Liu Wu's status is still unshakable, and even because of this change of seal, Emperor Wen Dou still feels guilty about Liu Wu. It should be said that the impersonal advice of the ministers was still far-sighted, and a few years later, Liu Wu, the king of Liang Xiao, really caused a lot of trouble for the Han Dynasty.

Just when Dou Yifang was ready to enjoy the honor of being the mother of the country, the disease haunted her. She suffered from an eye disease and became blind as a result.

Empress Dou, who was already a, lost her touching eyes at this time, and Emperor Wen's conjugal affection for her immediately froze. Although for the sake of past love and children, Emperor Wen still made her empress, but the affection between men and women quickly turned to the group of beautiful women in the harem.

Among these beautiful women, Emperor Wen's favorite are Lady Handan Shen and Yin Ji. Neither of these two beauties could give birth to children, but Emperor Wen's favor for them far exceeded that of the crown prince's mother, Empress Dou. In the harem, Mrs. Shen's material treatment and attendants were exactly the same as Empress Dou; And in private, there is much more husband and wife love than Empress Dou. The old husband and young wife, Emperor Wen almost fell in love with Madam Shen. If it weren't for Mrs. Shen's failure to give birth to a son, I'm afraid it wouldn't be a problem to change the queen.

Once, Emperor Wen took Empress Dou and Lady Shen and other harem concubines to Shanglin Garden together. After having fun, everyone should sit down and rest. When Emperor Wen and Empress Dou sat down in turn, Madame Shen prepared to sit beside Empress Dou as she usually did in the inner palace.

As a result, Yuan An, who followed Emperor Wen, did not allow Lady Shen to sit down, and led her to the side table to sit with the attendants. Mrs. Shen suddenly felt humiliated, her face was full of anger, and she refused to sit down no matter what she said. Emperor Wen also felt that Yuan Ang had swept away the face of his favorite concubine, and he refused to sit on the table anymore, so he got up and left. Empress Dou did not dare to make a sound, so she had to follow the emperor closely behind, bowed her head and followed.

But Yuan Ang inherited the gene of ambition from his father, who was a bandit, since he was a child, and he was not afraid of the emperor's anger at all, but chased up and explained the truth to Emperor Wen: "As the saying goes, respect and humility are orderly, although the emperor favors Mrs. Shen, but the title is high and low, the lord of the harem is Empress Dou, and Mrs. Shen is just a concubine, how can she be on an equal footing with his wife and empress?" If the emperor indiscriminately favors her because of partiality, and breaks the rules of the state, although love actually harms her. The lessons from the past are not far away, Emperor, have you forgotten the tragic situation of Mrs. Qi becoming a 'human being'! ”

A word woke up the dreamer, and Emperor Wen suddenly realized, and suddenly his whole body was cold, not only did his anger disappear completely, but he turned his anger into joy, but also immediately rushed into the back hall and relayed what Yuan Ang said to Madam Shen.

After hearing this, Mrs. Shen couldn't help but feel afraid, and was very grateful to Yuan An's kindness for saving herself, and immediately took out fifty pounds of gold and gave it to Yuan Ang to show her gratitude.

In fact, Mrs. Shen's exclusive favor is only pediatrics. Emperor Wen not only loved beautiful women, but also liked beautiful men and was keen on homosexuality. His male favorites are found in at least three people in historical records, including his close eunuch Zhao Tan, Beigong Bozi, and a famous Deng Tong.

Emperor Wen was diligent and thrifty, even Lady Shen, who favored the harem, could not wear luxurious embroidered clothes, but in order to pamper Deng Tong, he even gave him the copper mountain of Shu County, and let Deng Tong mint his own coins. His favor for Deng Tong was even more than his favor for his heir Liu Qi, which made the life of Dou's mother and son trembling.

The husband is a bunch of female and male favors, plus he is a rare filial piety, the real master in the harem needless to say is also the mother-in-law Empress Bo who is more and more alive, and he is disabled, and he is middle-aged Dou Yifang, although as the empress of the Han Dynasty, life is actually not easy at all.

A prophecy, a woman's choice, the fate of a dynasty

Just when Empress Dou was picking up her spirits in the dark to find the joy of life, there was a beautiful woman on the outskirts of Chang'an, dreaming of flying on a branch and becoming a phoenix. Her name is Wang Jiao.

Wang Jiao had the opportunity to dream like this because of Empress Dowager Bo and a friend.

Shortly after Dou Yifang lost his sight, Liu Qi, the crown prince of the Han Dynasty, also reached the age of marriage. His grandmother, Empress Dowager Bo, in order to maintain the prosperity of the Bo family, chose his niece Xiao Bo as the crown princess for her grandson.

Although Xiao Bo was of noble origin and had distant cousins with Liu Qi, she was also not qualified to require the future emperor's husband to keep his life like jade.

Although Liu Qi was dissatisfied with the wife chosen by the imperial grandmother for himself from the beginning, the completion of marriage symbolized adulthood, and after the marriage, he could naturally recruit beautiful women and fill the imperial womb; What's more, the relationship with the grandmother's family helped to consolidate the status of the prince. Therefore, although Liu Qi was not enthusiastic about Xiao Bo's arrival, he also behaved decently on face.

Soon after the marriage, Liu Qi obtained the consent of his grandmother and parents and officially began the beauty pageant of the imperial womb.

When the elected American official came to Wang Jiao's hometown of Huaili (Fufeng Huali Town, Shaanxi), Yao Weng, a physiologist invited by Wang Jiao's mother Zang'er, also happened to come to the Wang family.

Yao Weng was a very famous astrologer and acolyte at that time, and Zang'er was not an ordinary minmin, she was the granddaughter of Zang Xuan, a general in the early Han Dynasty and the king of Yan, who fell here because her grandfather was killed in a rebellion. Zang Er first married Wang Zhong and had a son, Wang Xin, and the second daughter was Wang Jiao and Wang Xijie. After Wang Zhong's death, she remarried the Tian family in Changling on the outskirts of Chang'an, and gave birth to two sons, Tian Yu and Tian Sheng, for her later husband.

With the children of the oil bottle, after all, it is inconvenient to live, and the family burden is too heavy, Zang'er, who is good at calculation, naturally will not drag down her status in the Tian family for a few children, so she married the eldest queen off early. The husband Wang Jiao married was named Jin Wang Sun, and Wang Jiao soon gave birth to a daughter for the Jin family after marriage, named Jin Custom.

Then again, although Zang'er was noble in her ancestors, but now she has fallen after all, why would she give up her old capital and invite Yao Weng, who asked for a lot of money, to come to her home?

That is, of course, for the reason for the beauty pageant of Prince Liu Qi. Zang'er's youngest daughter Wang Xijiao Fangling is unmarried, just in line with the basic requirements of the beauty pageant, Zang'er attaches great importance to this God-given opportunity (well, only this kind of people will regard the pageant as a good opportunity) and hopes to grasp it more, so she spares no expense to invite Yao Weng to come to the house to meet her little daughter.

It was about the future of the family and sister, so Wang Jiao also made a special trip back to her mother's house to listen to Yao Weng's high opinion.

Unexpectedly, when Yao Weng saw Wang Jiao, he was immediately stunned, and was so shocked that he even changed his tone when he spoke: "The real great nobleman is your eldest daughter, Madame, she can give birth to the Son of Heaven and become an empress in the future!" As for your youngest daughter, although she also has a bright future, she can't compare to her sister. ”

Zang'er's mother and daughter were all overwhelmed by Yao Weng's words.

Being able to be the mother of the Son of Heaven and the Empress Dowager, such a brilliant prospect is much better than being a commoner's wife. And the poor husband who threw off his parents' lives, the furry girl who cried and cried every day, and the poor life of getting rid of rough cloth and food are all dreams for Wang Jiao, so there is no problem at all. What's more, since she was a child, she has listened to her mother reminisce about the past, and she yearns for wealth and glory. However, she also knows very well that she is a married woman and a living wife, how can she run for election?

Such a small matter, of course, is difficult to see the well-informed Ms. Zang'er, she immediately volunteered to come forward for her daughter, went to bargain with her son-in-law Jin Wang Sun in person, and asked him to write a divorce document immediately, and the father and daughter broke off all relations with Wang Jiao - let's go to the East Palace, you kid stand aside and go cool!

Jin Wang Sun listened to his mother-in-law's high argument, and was angry, no matter what Zang'er said or promised silver, he refused to sign and pledge the divorce document, and scolded his shameless mother-in-law and wife with blood.

Zang'er's mother and daughter were extremely annoyed with this poor stick who was not on the road, and simply did not bother to settle the formalities with him (mainly because they did not want to ask for scolding anymore), and went to the beauty pageant on their own.

During the Han Dynasty, women who were selected to be selected as concubines in the court had to undergo strict physical examinations, and Wang Jiao only participated in the election of the crown prince's attendants, but the process would not omit much.

At this time, it is a great opportunity for Zang'er to exert her. She raised silver taels and put the internal officials who presided over the pageant properly, and sure enough, Wang Jiao successfully passed the test and became one of the beauties who was finally selected. The family sent her on the road to Beijing.

  5. Sisters marry together, and noble sons are successive

When the beauties selected from all over entered the imperial womb, Liu Qi saw the group of thousands of charmers in front of him, and he was simply overwhelmed.

And the crown princess of the Xiao Bo clan, although she did not taste it in her heart, still calmly accepted the etiquette of the newly arrived concubines to see their wives on the surface.

At this time, Xiao Bo, who was sitting expressionless in the crown prince's throne, would never have imagined that among these beautiful women who looked gentle and charming and were saluting herself, there was a killer and a future queen who would replace her throne.

The future queen, needless to say, is the queen who abandoned her husband and daughter; And the killer is Li Ji from as far away as Shandong.

Xiao Bo is one of the unfortunate Chinese queens. Her marital relationship is as snubbed as her grandaunt's Empress Dowager Lao Bo, and her temperament is also like Lao Bo's rebellion and obedience, but her fate is very different from Lao Bo's - the main problem is that she does not have as good luck as Lao Bo in terms of having children: Lao Bo can get a man in one fell swoop, but Xiao Bo can't give birth to a man and a half girl. Maybe it's really that she doesn't have the life of "being the mother of heaven". Old Bo probably never imagined that among his grandson's concubines, there was a woman who came with the same astrological prophecy as himself back then, and would become a talisman for his niece and granddaughter.

Xiao Bo's greatest misfortune and innocence is not that she was snubbed by her husband and slandered by her concubines, but that she has a very high identity and origin, but she has never used it. She is a very honest and loyal woman. It's a pity that honest people always end up with no good fruit to eat.

Why is it said that Xiao Bo is kind to people? The reason is very simple, at the same time that Xiao Bo has never been able to give birth, the concubines in the imperial womb keep giving birth to dolls one after another. If the righteous crown princess Xiao Bo used the power of her grandmother to suppress these concubines, how could they have such a chance to give birth.

The first woman to give birth to a son for Liu Qi was Li Ji. Since giving birth to her son, Li Ji has almost become a crab in front of other women in the imperial womb, and her spirit is extraordinary.

Li Ji's eyes are nobody, of course Liu Qi can't see it, Li Ji still maintains a coquettish image in front of him.

But Liu Qi can't see, which doesn't mean that others can't see it. Xiao Bo was born cowardly, and he wanted to be a good wife, so that's all. But Li Ji's behavior, in the eyes of the ambitious Wang Ji, could not bear it, and she almost hated Li Ji to the point of teeth in secret.

But Wang Jiao waited to come and go, and did not wait for her son to come out of her belly, but gave birth to three daughters in a row: the lord of Pingyang County, the lord of Nangong County, and the lord of Longxi County.

At this moment, she is in a hurry, she has no son, what to fight with Li Ji? The mother of the Son of Heaven and the honor of the queen are even more thoughtful.

So Wang Jiao thought of her sister Wang Xijie. I think that the first phase Yao Weng also said that Wang Xiji has a great noble appearance, and for several years, Wang Xiji has not been able to choose a wishful son-in-law in his hometown outside the palace, maybe he is waiting for the "big noble" to come to the prince's side. If my sister can give birth to a son for Liu Qi, isn't it equivalent to a son with herself?

So Wang Jiao immediately recommended her sister to the crown prince Liu Qi, describing Wang Xiji as seductive as a flower. Liu Qi heard that Pet Ji recommended so vigorously, and naturally felt difficult, and immediately sent someone to pick up his sister-in-law.

Zang Er had already received the letter from her eldest daughter and was waiting for it, and as soon as the carriage arrived, she immediately sent her youngest daughter out in full dress.

When Liu Qi saw it, he really lived up to his name, and he was immediately pampered. Moreover, at the same time, he also deeply praised Wang Jiao's "virtuous and not jealous" character, but instead of being greedy for the new and forgetting the old, he paid more and more attention to Wang Jiao.

After Wang Xijian entered the imperial womb, he really lived up to his sister's trust and gave birth to four sons for Liu Qi in a row. These four little children later became princes, namely: Liu Yue the King of Guangchuan, Liu Zhi the King of Jiaodong, Liu Cheng the King of Qinghe, and Liu Shun the King of Changshan.

For a time, the Wang sisters were in the limelight in the imperial womb.

However, the good times did not last long, and soon after giving birth to Liu Shun, Wang Xijie died.

Wang Jiao, who lost her sister as a backup, had to face many beautiful opponents in the harem alone.

However, Wang Jiao did not have her own biological son at this time, her sister died, and she went as an aunt to compete for the favor of her nephews, how to say, the waist pole is not as hard as Li Ji, who has a biological son. So, Wang Jiao endured this breath and temporarily retreated to the side, allowing Li Ji to go to the limelight.

Li Ji's biggest wish is to replace the crown princess Xiao Bo, become the empress in the future, and her son will become the prince, and she will be the mother of the world. Therefore, she kept stirring up trouble in the imperial womb and provoked the relationship between Liu Qi and Xiao Bo. Gradually, Liu Qi, who was already dissatisfied with the arranged marriage, became more and more cold to Xiao Bo. In the end, even a little cousin love is no longer there. No matter how much Xiao Bo forbears to give in, it will not help.

But the old Bo clan was still alive, and he was obeyed by his own son and Liu Qi's father, Emperor Wen, Liu Heng, and Liu Qi, as a grandson, did not dare to openly disagree with the little Bo clan.

Old Bo, on the other hand, lived a long life, two years longer than his son Emperor Wen.

In the past six years, Liu Qi, who has become the emperor of the Great Han Dynasty, still has to play the role of filial grandson in front of his grandmother, so he still can't treat Xiao Bo as such. So Liu Qi's first empress was still the Xiao Bo clan.

However, Xiao Bo's life was bitter, and after ten years of crown princesses and six years of empresses, she failed to give birth to children. Although the old Bo family was anxious, he could only force his grandson to stand up, but there was no way to force his grandson to get close to the little Bo family.

In this way, it would be impossible for Prince Yan to be born and raised from the belly of Empress Xiaobo. In March 155 BC, Emperor Jing Liu Qi finally justifiably made Liu Rong, the eldest son born to Li Ji, crown prince.

Liu Rong's becoming crown prince was great news for Li Ji, and better news came in April of that year: Xiao Bo's grandaunt, the old Empress Dowager Bo, finally passed away.

At this time, Li Ji had already decided that the position of the queen of the Xiao Bo clan could not sit for long, and it was time for her to become the first noble lady in the world.

However, Xiao Bo has always been respectful, and although she does not have her grandaunt, she is still cared for and protected by her mother-in-law Empress Dowager Dou with her gentle character.

Kuri Ji could not tolerate her own son calling other women "Queen Mother", and she began wave after wave of offensives. And hiding on the side to help dismantle the back stage of the emperor is Ms. Wang Jiao.

Today's Wang Jiao is different from the past: she has given birth to her own son.

From the moment this son settled in his mother's womb, he fully showed his extraordinary origins.

It is said that when Wang Jiao, who was eager for her child, became pregnant for the fourth time, she had a strange dream that a round sun slipped from her mouth into her belly. Wang Jiao, who woke up from the dream, told Liu Qi about this strange dream, and Liu Qi was overjoyed when he heard it, and said to Wang Jiao: "This is a noble auspicious omen, you will definitely be able to give birth to a son for me this time." ”

This noble son really came from a lot of beginnings, and before he came to life, his grandfather Emperor Wen Liu Heng died first.

On the 7th day of the first month of the seventh month of Emperor Jing's first year, Wang Jiao gave birth to a son for Emperor Jing Liu Qi in the Qilan Hall of Weiyang Palace in Chang'an. He was Liu Qi's seventh son, but Emperor Jing's first.

Wang Jiao has been looking forward to her son for a long time, and she is very careful about raising this precious son. In order to feed herself, she gave her son a humble nickname: 彘'er - that is, pig.

Of course, the emperor's son could not be called "Liu Zhu'er", so this child also had a big name: Liu Che. He is the future Emperor Wu of Han.

  6. Aggressive Kuri Ji

Although Emperor Jing had many sons, Liu Che was after all his first son after becoming emperor, not to mention that his mother had always been known as "virtuous and virtuous".

Therefore, the elated Jing Emperor Liu Qi immediately rewarded Wang Jiao, who had a meritorious son, and canonized her as a "beauty". In the harem establishment of the early Western Han Dynasty, the position of "beauty" was second only to the empress, which was equivalent to the princes and secretaries among men.

Wang Jiao finally climbed the key step and stood on an equal footing with the prince's biological mother Li Ji. She truly felt that the queen's throne was shining with golden light towards her. But she didn't want to come forward by herself to bring down Xiao Bo, who was in position, she just watched coldly, waiting for Li Ji, who had been rubbing her fists for many years, to make a move.

And Li Ji, who had no scenery for a while, did not care at all about this gentle Wang beauty beside her, and all her attention and spirit were focused on finding the little thin queen.

Li Ji is not only a reckless woman at heart, but it seems that her knowledge is also very lacking, and she does not know anything about Wu Guo's allusion to "praying mantis catches cicadas and yellow finches are behind".

She didn't understand, but Wang Jiao understood very well. In the eyes of Wang Meiren, the little thin queen at this time is the cicada, Li Ji is the praying mantis who contributes on her behalf, and the final winner, Huang Que, needless to say, is Wang Jiao herself.

In the battle for the rear position, Wang Jiao cleverly hid in the shadows and avoided the limelight. While Li Ji aggressively rampage in the harem, Wang Ji made good friends in the harem, especially for her husband, further plumping up her image of frugality and virtuousness, and watching Li Ji act as her own scavenger with a smile.

Empress Dowager Dou herself had tasted being snubbed by her husband, and she really wanted to take care of Empress Xiaobo, but now it was different, and Liu Qi was already the emperor. Moreover, the long-term slander and his son's stubborn attitude are also a wear and tear on Empress Dowager Dou's love. It not only wore her support for Xiao Bo, but also wore her love for her eldest son Liu Qi. So much so that later she thought that Liu Qi and Liu Qi's sons were too bad, and it was only right that the imperial throne should be passed to her younger son Liu Wu.

But of course, Liu Qi still tried his best to please the old lady, and as soon as he ascended the throne, he began to add wealth to his mother's family.

Although Empress Dowager Bo posthumously sealed the tomb for Empress Dowager Dou's parents, it was just a crowned grave. Every time Empress Dowager Dou thought of her father buried in the abyss, and even the bones could not be salvaged, she was full of sorrow.

Liu Qi also understands his mother's heart very well. As soon as he ascended the throne, he gave permission to his grandfather to build a large grave.

Empress Dowager Dou immediately sent an envoy to her hometown in Hebei (now Hengshui City) to fill in the entire abyss where her father was buried, and piled up sealed soil, the scale of which resembled a soil mountain, which the people called "Dou's Green Mountain".

If all things had animism, the water god in the abyss would weep bitterly: only because he killed an angler, now even the old nest has been destroyed.

At the same time, the children and grandchildren of the Dou brothers, who were raised as wealthy idlers and strictly disciplined during the Emperor Wen's period, all received extremely high official ranks.

Empress Dowager Dou's younger brother Dou Guangguo was made Marquis of Zhang Wu (this escaped charcoal burning slave is now truly glorious). However, Gedou Changjun did not live to the time when he was highly regarded by the high-ranking official Houlu, and he died long before his nephew ascended the throne. Therefore, Emperor Jing transferred Dou Pengzu, son of Dou Changjun, to the Marquis of Nanpi.

The Dou family is also full of talents. During the Three Years and Seven Kingdoms Rebellion of Emperor Jing, Empress Dowager Dou's cousin Dou Ying volunteered to fight. This young man, who prides himself on being a hero since he was a child, really made great battle merits, and therefore made Wei Qihou with military merit. Although this is a battle achievement, it is also not unrelated to Empress Dowager Dou. The three marquis of the Dou family also indirectly consolidated and increased the majesty of Empress Dowager Dou, and Emperor Jing became more and more filial to this old lady.

In addition to giving priority to his mother's relatives in terms of wealth, Emperor Jing was also very clear about his mother's admiration for the art of Huang Lao, and although he was somewhat reluctant, he still let his sons respect and learn the art of Huang Lao, and he first set an example.

In short, Emperor Jing is still very flattering and betrayal in front of his mother.

The biggest flattery and betrayal was to express his filial feelings for his brother Liu Wu the King of Liang in front of Empress Dowager Dou - how Emperor Wen of Han and Empress Dowager Dou favored Liu Wu, Emperor Jing simply knew too well. When Emperor Wen was still alive, Liu Wu, who had already reached adulthood, often returned to Chang'an, and stayed for a year and a half, even spanning two years, and his father Emperor Wen's mother Dou Shi still felt that the time was too short to love his younger son.

In 166 BC, Liu Wu entered Beijing from his fiefdom to meet his brother and the emperor. At this time, Emperor Jing had not yet made a prince, and when he was chatting with his brother about wine, he consciously or unconsciously said: "After I am long lived, I will pass on to you the king of Liang." ”

King Liu Wu of Liang listened to his brother's promise, and although he immediately expressed humility and did not dare, his heart was ecstatic and needless to say. Empress Dowager Dou was even more happy when she heard that her eldest son had such a thought.

In the spring of that year, a great chaos broke out in the Liu family of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and Liu Bi the King of Wu, Liu Biao the King of Jiaoxi, Liu Peng the King of Chu, Liu Sui the King of Zhao, Liu Piguang the King of Jinan, Liu Xian the King of Lingchuan, and Liu Xiongqu the King of Jiaodong jointly raised troops and rebelled.

As the emperor's own brother, Liu Wu and his Liang state bore the brunt of the attack by the Seven Kingdoms Alliance. Liu Wu shared his brother's worries, rose up to resist, and successfully contained the deployment of the Seven Kingdoms army to attack the capital with a weak enemy. After the war, people were surprised to find that the battle merits of the Liang army and the number of rebels who killed prisoners were not much different from the imperial army.

In the crucial battle to protect the security of the empire, Liu Wu's merits were not inferior to those of his brother who held the throne high.

After making such a great achievement, how can I say that Liu Qi should also fulfill his promise to take his brother as his heir, right?

  Nope!

On April of the second year of Liu Wu's great achievements, Liu Qi issued a decree to canonize his eldest son Liu Rong as crown prince.

Empress Dowager Dou was very dissatisfied with her eldest son's broken word. In order to appease the old lady's emotions, Liu Qi repeatedly increased Liu Wu's fiefdoms and rewards. In the end, Liu Wu, the king of Liang, had as many as forty fiefdoms, and most of them were large cities and fertile land. Liu Wu's palace in Liang's country has a radius of more than 300 li. The ceremonial guard used is even more pompous, and the road must be cleared and paved for entry and exit, and the banner hunting is comparable to the Son of Heaven.

However, although Liu Wu had a vast fiefdom and his military and financial strength exceeded the treasury in Chang'an City, he still did not make any rebellion against the throne.

While national events are gripping, the dark tide in the harem is also surging. Empress Dowager Dou was also happy to accept Liu Qi's repeated dedication, and closed her eyes to her son's private affairs.

Such a mother-son understanding agreement reached between Empress Dowager Dou and Liu Qi was the deadliest blow to Xiao Bo.

Finally, four years after the death of Empress Dowager Lao Bo, that is, in the autumn and September of the sixth year of Emperor Jing, two years after Liu Rong became crown prince, the vain empress Xiao Bo was deposed by the widowed emperor's husband Liu Qi.

The queen's throne is finally empty! All the women in the harem stared intently at the throne, but most of them warned themselves that this seat did not belong to them, because they were not the mother of the crown prince.

Of course, Li Ji was overjoyed, she could already foresee that she was sitting on the queen's throne, and she accepted the worship and respect of the world in every way.

But Li Ji would not have thought that there was an additional Wang beauty in the harem, she did not belong to the kind of concubine who was willing to admit defeat, and she would end her dream of being an empress.

However, what really helped Wang Jiao was precisely Li Ji's own arrogant temper.

As mentioned earlier, Empress Dowager Dou gave birth to a girl as early as when she was Emperor Wen's concubine, and this daughter named Liu Yan was later named Princess Guantao and married Chen Wu, Marquis of Tangyi.

Princess Guantao is very clever, not only particularly popular with her mother Empress Dowager Dou, but also especially caring for her two younger brothers: Liu Qi, the Emperor of Jing, and Liu Wu, the Prince of Liang.

The harem of the Western Han Dynasty, beautiful women like clouds. But these beauties were not personally selected by the emperor. As the saying goes, each flower enters each eye, so the women who enter the palace do not necessarily fit the emperor's eyes. Of course, the emperor himself has the right to screen these palace maidens, but after all, such behaviors will affect the "clean reputation" of Mr. Emperor, and may leave a reputation of "lecherous and lewd" in future generations. So, who wants to stand up and take on this responsibility for the head who cherishes the feathers?

There are all kinds of people who are responsible for the later emperors, often called "sycophants", "the evil of the king" - in fact, they are really more wronged than Dou'e.

And for Emperor Jing Liu Qi was the Guantao Princess Liu Yan, who knew his preferences well. As the emperor's sister and Empress Dowager Dou's beloved daughter, Liu Yan came and went freely in Emperor Jing's harem, and was very willing to match the beauties of the harem, and even often taught them face-to-face opportunities, pointing them to know what the emperor liked in this regard. Needless to say, Emperor Jing saw these well-informed and knowledgeable wonderful people, and he was simply soulless.

After the "Longyan Great Joy", of course, these beauties will be able to obtain titles at all levels, break away from the identity of ordinary palace maidens, and become the emperor's concubines, and from then on, they will rise to the top and shine brightly. (The concubine system during the Jing Emperor period was divided into seven levels, the lowest level of "young envoys", and there were also servants and treatment equivalent to the "public passenger" level of men in the court.) That's how many men can't get a position in their lifetime. )

Liu Yan was so understanding, Emperor Jing was naturally grateful to her, and simply regarded the old sister as a lucky star from the sky. And those beauties who were able to get ahead and become famous because of Liu Yan's recommendation and their families regarded her as a reborn parent and a recreation of grace.

However, what Liu Yan did, when it came to Li Ji, became a heinous crime. She hated the "fox spirit" who shared her husband with her, and of course, she hated Princess Guantao who helped the fox spirits.

Before the Xiao Bo clan was squeezed out of the back position, Li Ji still very rare to put up with Liu Yan for a while, and when his own son Liu Rong was made a prince by Emperor Jing, especially after Empress Xiao Bo was also deposed, Li Ji suddenly felt that she had completely toed up! Now, she is about to become the empress of the Han Dynasty, and what can a long princess and an eldest princess who dares to offend her for a long time be counted?

Kuri Ji feels that her chance to turn over and take revenge is just around the corner.

  7. The selection of the son-in-law of the princess of Guantao

Liu Yan is a smart person, as a woman, she knows very well that Li Ji is quite dissatisfied with her behavior of recommending beautiful women, but she thinks that this is all to please the emperor, the emperor has the privilege of three palaces and six courts, even if Li Ji becomes an empress, I am afraid that she will have to show her demeanor so - it seems that Liu Yan really overestimated Li Ji's political acumen.

At the same time, Liu Yan also hopes to match her baby daughter Chen Jiaoxu to Prince Liu Rong born to Li Ji. In this way, you can make yourself close to the emperor's brothers, and in the future, become the niece-in-law of the emperor, or even the grandmother of the little emperor, and become more and more prosperous, and the descendants will be thousands of generations.

Therefore, during the period when Li Ji was playing a little and the whole court also thought that she was about to succeed as empress, Guantao Princess Liu Yan chose an auspicious day and personally went out to ask Li Ji to kiss him.

Needless to say, Princess Guantao thinks that this upside down affair is a completely stable matter: are there stupid people in the world who do not want to form a close alliance with the emperor's own sister and the queen mother's own daughter?

What Princess Guantao never expected was that she was not afraid of 10,000, just in case, Li Ji was such a stupid person.

As soon as Li Ji heard about Princess Guantao's "good intentions", she immediately sneered and scoffed at this future sister-in-law, how, now you know that you want to flatter me, hmph, it's really feng shui turns, you don't want to think about it, my son is going to be the emperor in the future. You will introduce so many beautiful women to the emperor, you should know that my son will also be qualified for countless beautiful beauties in the future, just based on your daughter's appearance, which one can he compare? Want to rely on that hairy girl Princes Wandai?! There are no doors!

Of course, Kuri Ji may not have said it so harshly, and it was me as the author who was mean. But judging from what happened later, Kuri Ji may have said it more blatantly than I suspected.

Li Ji may not understand the importance of political marriage, but she may have overestimated the status of her mother and son in the emperor's eyes and valued her son's "prince" title too firmly. Or, she had already begun to calculate in her heart the beautiful prospect of marrying the girl of her Li family as the crown princess, how could she be willing to "cheaply" harm her Princess Guantao Chang who kept the empty house?

In short, Li Ji's unexpected character made a mortal enemy for herself at this moment, deciding the final outcome of herself and Liu Rong.

Princess Guantao touched a nose of ash here with Li Ji, naturally very unhappy, especially what made her frightened was that it turned out that Li Ji hated herself so deeply. Now that she is hot, she dares to give herself a can't come to the stage in person, if her son becomes the emperor and she becomes the empress dowager in the future, won't her aunt, be dead?

The more Liu Yan thought about it, the more sweaty she became, but this incident could not even be said by her mother, Empress Dowager Dou - because Empress Dowager Dou wanted to establish her youngest son Liu Wu as the imperial brother, what would she say if she knew that her baby daughter wanted to have a relationship with her nephew Crown Prince.

Guantao walked around the harem, and finally came to the Qilan Hall where Mrs. Wang Jiao lived.

Wang Jiao has always been kind to people in the harem, making a wide range of friendships, and is even more devoted to the emperor's sister, the eldest princess, so the resentful Princess Guantao immediately vented her resentment and complaints to Mrs. Wang without shyness.

Wang Jiao listened to Princess Guantao's complaints, and echoed with understanding. He sighed even more: "Mrs. Li really failed the princess and your good intentions, Gillian is a lovely person, I want to have such a good daughter-in-law, I really want to wake up laughing in my dreams." But it's no wonder that she is now the mother of the prince and is about to become the queen, and she has some thoughts, which is indeed a little concubine like me who can't guess. Long princess, long princess, don't be too angry, these words don't matter to me, out of my place, don't say it again, then you can't get into trouble! ”

This intimate "persuasion" provoked Princess Guantao to turn around more and more.

After a few circles, Princess Guantao made a ruthless heart: for the sake of her own wealth, she must not let Li Ji become an empress, let alone her son become an emperor!

So, once Liu Rong is gone, who will succeed the crown prince? Princess Guantao's eyes lit up: Of course, it must be my own son-in-law to succeed the crown prince! And this future son-in-law, far away and close at hand, is the son of the "confidant" Mrs. Wang in front of him!

At this time, there were five unmarried little princes around Wang Jiao, four were the sons of her sister who died early, and the youngest was her own son. According to age, Wang Xijie's eldest son Liu Yuecai of Guangchuan should be Chen Jiao's most suitable husband, but if they marry like this, the motivation of Wang Jiao and the eldest princess to advance and retreat together will naturally not be too high. If Chen Jiao is married to her younger cousin Liu Che of Jiaodong Wang, not only will Mrs. Wang have to work with her inside and outside to get Li Ji, but the little son-in-law will naturally be much better fiddling with than the eldest son-in-law.

After some calculation, Princess Guantao took the initiative to propose a kiss for her daughter for the second time in a day, saying that she was willing to marry her daughter to Wang Jiao as a daughter-in-law.

What a clever person Wang Jiao is, speaking and listening, she immediately understood how Princess Guantao's abacus beads were pulled, and Princess Guantao's abacus was exactly what she had secretly held for many years, of course, she would not let go of this good opportunity. Immediately flattered, he accepted and contracted the marriage for his six-year-old son Liu Che.

While Wang Jiao happily thanked her future mother-in-law on behalf of her son, she added fuel and firewood and deliberately sighed: "Alas, it's a pity that this kid of mine is just a prince, and I am really wronged by a gillian girl." Princess, although you don't dislike a large number of adults, our mother and son are ashamed to be tight! ”

A word just right poked the intestines of Princess Guantao, now Wang Jiao's mother and son are also their own people, Princess Guantao simply opened the skylight and said brightly, and said her own idea clearly: My son-in-law, how to become the future emperor, must be successful!

Wang Jiao was so happy that she almost kowtowed to her aunt immediately. However, she has also been a "virtuous person" for many years, and she has not forgotten to be modest: "As the saying goes, the heir is either the elder, Mrs. Li is about to become the queen, and then Liu Rong is not only the eldest son, but also the concubine, me and the pig are born with a thin life, what else to say." Princess, you must be silent, this matter is still just that, in case it can't be done, in the future, our mother and son, won't we have to be the second Mrs. Qi Liu Ruyi? Bitter............"

Wang Jiao's sad and heartfelt performance touched the ambition of Princess Guantao: "Hmph, a little Li Ji, also want to fight with Princess Li Chang?" She wants to be the queen and the queen mother? Bah me! As long as I, Liu Yan, she doesn't even want to touch the door! "As the saying goes, strike iron while it's hot, sooner rather than later. Princess Guantao said just do it, and went straight to the palace where Liu Qi lived.

Looking at the figure of Princess Guantao disappearing from the dust, Wang Jiao's heart was so beautiful! What the acolytes said, it is time to start to realize step by step!

VIII. The first deposed crown prince of the Han Dynasty

Sure enough, Princess Guantao immediately ran to her younger brother to order Li Ji's rotten medicine: "Emperor, I heard that you want to canonize Li Ji as the empress of my dynasty?" That's a must! ”

Liu Qi doted on Li Ji, and the wish to set her up for the future has long been made on the pillow I don't know how many times, for a while I really don't know what the third sister means by saying this, and I was stunned for a while: "What is the solution?" ”。

Princess Guantao said: "Li Ji is a two-faced and three-knifed woman, full of malice, and strangely jealous, she hates the beauties you now favor the emperor, not only does not have a heart of friendship, but also curses non-stop, and occasionally when they meet, she spits on the beauties." You think, she is just a concubine now, dare to fight the prince so arrogant, once she is in the middle palace and becomes the empress dowager in the future, I see that the miserable image of 'Renbiao' in the future is only afraid that it will reappear in the Liu family, and the emperor, your beloved children now may be unable to escape! If you are really a holy son, don't be deceived by this fox again! ”

Liu Qi was made to sweat coldly by his sister's words. He couldn't believe that the woman he loved was so femme fatale, but he had been married to Li Ji for many years, and he also knew some about her temperament, and knew that she was a master with a bad temper, but he was afraid that what his sister said was not groundless.

On this day, Emperor Jing specially came to Li Ji's palace and tentatively opened his mouth to her: "Lian has established Liu Rong as the prince, and Ai Ji will become an empress soon." Now that my health is getting worse, if there is something good, the entire Han Dynasty and the Union will be entrusted to you. The concubines in the harem are young, and the kings of the alliance (that is, the princes who have been crowned kings) are all young, and the harem of the imperial court is troubled and dangerous everywhere, and at that time, you must help me maintain them. ”

Emperor Jing is about thirty-seven or eight years old this year, if it is now, this is the best age for a man to mature and strong, but Liu Qi's body has long made the Yingying Yanyan in the harem weak, but his body is not good. Although these words were tentative words, they were also the words of the emperor's heart, and it was not unsentimental to say.

If Li Ji is smart enough, she should quickly accept it, and it is best to comfort and comfort her husband, saying that he must be lucky and good. But the innocence did not give her a little brain, and no matter how good the words passed in her ears, they all changed their taste: Why, this damn flower heart radish, to death have not forgotten his gang of goblins and those little mongrels ?!

So, Li Ji immediately changed her face and became angry. Not only did he refuse to agree to take care of Zhu Ji and his children, but he also refused to say a good word to the emperor, and he was confronted in person.

When Emperor Jing saw her face, he couldn't get angry, feeling that he had really recognized the wrong person and spoiled her for so many years, and immediately got up and flicked his sleeves away.

When Li Ji saw that her husband was uncharacteristically not coming to whisper, she was even more angry, crying at Emperor Jing's back, and couldn't wait to throw out a series of foul words. Insulting the harem concubine is still idle, and more importantly, she carries and scolds Emperor Jing for being an "old dog"! That's why I messed with those shameless women in the harem, really "dog men and women"!

Just when Li Ji was jumping all over the ground and making a big fuss, she forgot that although Emperor Jing felt that he was in poor health to explain the aftermath, after all, he was not yet forty years old, and when he was not old enough to the back of his ears, he could remember the cruel words she said clearly without a word.

Heh, the harem concubines and the emperor Yan Hao are "dog men and women", so is Li Ji herself the original wife? What should she be herself?

Well, woe comes out of your mouth, and that's it.

However, although Li Ji greatly offended the emperor because of this matter, Liu Qi did not have a seizure for a while. The reason, of course, was because her son was a prince. Liu Rong, as the eldest son of Emperor Jing, has been a piece of his father's heart since he was a child—not to mention the emperor, it is an ordinary family, and the birth of the first son should bring great joy and ecstasy.

Liu Qi actually did not immediately make the action of deposing the prince and Li Ji, which made Wang Jiao depressed. After thinking about it, she decided to add fuel to the fire. She believes that with her understanding of Liu Qi, she will definitely be able to prompt him to abandon the relationship between father and son and make a decision that meets his wishes.

Wang Jiao had the advantage that she had always been kind to people and enjoyed a reputation for benevolence and virtuousness inside and outside the imperial court. Because she pays attention everywhere on weekdays, she also has a good relationship with the ministers of internal and external affairs. Now, it's time for her to show her strength.

On this day, Wang Jia cleverly arranged for her cronies to go to the Grand Governor (Minister of Ceremonies) and convey Mrs. Wang's thoughts to him: "Mr. Grand Officer, now the crown prince has been established for many months, but the prince's mother is still a concubine, how can it be appropriate to continue like this." The emperor was naturally willing to appoint the crown prince mother as the empress, but no one installed this step for him. Mrs. Wang has always had a good relationship with you, so I hope you will not be careless at this time, not only affecting the emperor's impression of you, but also affecting the harmony of the country and the royal family. ”

Wang Jiao has always been kind to people in the harem, and the official also respected Mrs. Wang's character very much, and now listening to this righteous speech that is serious about the country and the people, it is even more mountainous. So nature obeyed and gave a note to Emperor Jing in 150 BC.

Here's what Sonzhang says: "... The son is precious to the mother, and the mother is expensive to the son. Now the crown prince has no number, and it is appropriate to be made empress. ......”

What Daxing Guan never expected was that when Emperor Jing saw this recital, he immediately became angry and roared: "This is a family matter, can you take care of it?!" "Immediately, I couldn't help but say that I would beat the great official into the heavenly prison, and stab him in two paragraphs.

The official was thus sent to the city of death by Wang Jiao, whom he idolized.

After Liu Qi cut down the big official, his anger was not extinguished, and he thought again: No, this minister of etiquette has always dared not talk and move, how can there be more trouble? It must have been instigated! So, who is this movement good for? Of course it's Kurihime! Needless to say, it must be this mother-in-law who befriended the minister and sought benefits for herself! Well, she is really lawless, and she wants to stretch her hand from the harem to the court with her son! But her son Liu Rong is an ignorant boy, won't he want to bury the world of my old Liu family in the future?

——This is not that Liu Qi has a problem with intelligence, but this kind of reasoning is logical, who would have thought that a "virtuous" palace concubine who seemed impossible to get any benefits on the surface would marry someone and urge officials to make other women empresses? Liu Qi and Daxing officials had to fall into Wang Jiao's calculations.

In order to cut off Li Ji's interference in political affairs and the possibility of the Han Dynasty reappearing as Lü He's second, Liu Qi made a ruthless decision and immediately issued a holy decree: depose the crown prince Liu Rong as the king of Linjiang. At this time, it was only a few days before the death of the official in vain.

Li Ji was shocked, angry and regretful, never expecting that the man who had been loving his mother and son for so many years could change his heart so ruthlessly. So he was bedridden in hatred. At this time, she was no longer what she used to be, she couldn't even find a guard in front of her hospital bed, her son was also deposed from the palace and could not be seen, and the emperor's husband couldn't even look at a shadow. There were also people who came to report to her, saying whose palace the emperor went to today, and who Ming'er accompanied to the garden. Li Ji soon lost her support and became terminally ill.

IX. The coveted position of Crown Prince

While Li Ji was tossing and turning on the hospital bed, thinking about her husband's change of heart, Wang Jiao and Princess Guantao were happily high-fived each other. At the same time, Princess Guantao also praised Wang Jiao's son Liu Che in front of Emperor Jing: This child is really smart and different, and he is studious at a young age, and more importantly, he is naturally filial ah, he really deserves to be the emperor's son!

Coming and going, Emperor Jing also liked Liu Che in his heart. If you like this, there is no place that is not pleasing to the eye, and it is really a wrestling that is particularly stylish and stylish. Thinking of the strange dreams that Wang Jiao had when she was pregnant with this son, Emperor Jing was even more impressed by this six-year-old son.

At the same time that Emperor Jing was being tricked by his sister and favored concubine, Empress Dowager Dou was also beating her own little Jiujiu.

As mentioned earlier, Empress Dowager Dou really didn't like Liu Qi very much, and what she really liked was her youngest son Liu Wu. Since she didn't even like the eldest son, of course, she didn't have a son born to her who could see it, so Liu Qi abolished Liu Rong, the prince of Li, and this grandmother did not express any objections.

And Liu Rong's deposition and the vacancy of the position of crown prince were great news for Empress Dowager Dou. She immediately had Emperor Jing summoned in front of him and asked him to make Liu Wu the Prince of Liang the Prince of Liang his brother and pass the throne to him in the future.

Empress Dowager Dou's motion was no less than a thunderbolt on a sunny day for Emperor Jing Liu Qi, and he was immediately dumbfounded. To make matters worse, Liu Wu is now in the imperial palace of Chang'an City, waiting to listen to the letter.

Fortunately, the same rice raises a hundred people, and when it is critical, there are still people who dare to speak out.

This person is Yuan An, who once favored his concubine for Emperor Wen, and spoke up for Empress Dou, and now Empress Dou has become Empress Dowager Dou, but his rectum is old and strong. At this time, he stood up again, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the fact that King Liang was the heir, and tried to block the matter.

Yuan Ang had great favors to Empress Dowager Dou, and Emperor Jing had this help, of course, he pushed the boat along the water and vetoed his mother's proposal.

Needless to say, Empress Dowager Dou's disappointment was needless to say, and Liu Wu was even more resentful, refusing to stay in Chang'an City for a day, refusing to spend the New Year with his mother, and returned to Liang Kingdom with his own care. ——Pity the hearts of the parents of the world! Liu Wu is really a filial son!

Liu Wu's early departure was most likely to put a little pressure on his mother, Empress Dowager Dou, to work harder to win the position of crown prince for herself. But on the other hand, his departure alleviated Emperor Jing's worries, and Emperor Jing could finally calm his eyes and concentrate on his son's appointment as a prince.

Soon, at the insistence of Emperor Jing Liu Qi, under the joint planning of more than a dozen of his trusted ministers such as Yuan An, and even under the private activities of Princess Guantao and Lady Wang, Liu Che, the ninth son of Emperor Jing and the then seven-year-old Liu Che, was determined to be the candidate to succeed the crown prince. Since Liu Che was at the bottom of Emperor Jing's thirteen sons and was young, there was no good reason to succeed as crown prince smoothly, so it became inevitable that his mother Wang Jiao would succeed him as empress in advance: only in this way could Liu Che become the crown prince as a "concubine".

Wang Jiao is about to become the Empress of the Great Han! This news was quickly reached Li Ji's ears with ulterior motives.

This news, for Li Ji, who was lying on the hospital bed and moaning lonely, was nothing less than a thunderbolt on a sunny day and a life-urging charm. She knew that her last of her hopes had been wiped away by her husband. She was not only panicked, but also extremely angry, unable to bear the tragic fate of falling from heaven to eighteen levels of hell. After trying her best and uttering a series of curses and curses, she vomited blood and died.

Character determines fate, and Li Ji's violent and reckless character killed herself and her son's splendid future and even life in a moment; And Wang Jiao's forbearance has achieved the top wealth of her mother and son for life.

In April of the seventh year of Emperor Jing, the early summer festival of birds singing and flowers and clothes flying.

On April Otsumi, Wang Jiao's dream finally came true and she was named Empress of the Great Han Dynasty. The queen's throne, which had been vacant for more than half a year, had a new owner.

Twelve days later, on April Ding Day, Wang Jiao's baby son Liu Che became the second crown prince of Emperor Jing, and nine years later became his father's successor: Emperor Wudi of Han.

  10. "If Gillian is a woman, build a house of gold and store it!" ”

If Wang Jiao hadn't cleverly promised her son to Princess Guantao Chang, how could she and Liu Che have achieved such a status? At the same time, the successful experience of his mother and son, as well as the lessons of the failure of Empress Xiaobo and Li Ji's mother and son, prompted Wang Jiao to see the situation clearly and know that the "Dou Tai Lord" Liu Yan, the aunt, could never be offended. He must fulfill the promise he promised to marry.

However, in this regard, both Wang Jiao and Princess Guantao encountered a problem: that is, Chen Jiao and Liu Che had a congenital deficiency in entering into marriage: the woman was older than the man.

In ancient times, men's 20-line crown ceremonies and women's fifteen ceremonies were considered to be the best marriageable age.

From this point alone, the two parties to the marriage, the man must be older than the woman, it has become a conventional rule at that time, and now Chen Jiao is several years older than Liu Che - how old we can't be sure, but Liu Jiao is Liu Qi's sister, and Chen Jiao once proposed to Liu Che's eldest brother Liu Rong, which shows that even the "female junior" is far more than that. Even in the eyes of the people, they are not very suitable, not to mention that Liu Che is already the crown prince of the imperial dynasty and the future emperor, what reason does he have to marry a big sister as a wife?

Sure enough, as soon as Wang Jiao mentioned the words of being engaged to Liu Che and Chen Jiao, Emperor Jing Liu Qi refused: "Chen Jiao's age is not matched, not to mention that Che'er is still young, it is a little too early to think about this now." Let's talk about it later. ”

It didn't matter if the confused emperor who was in the dark said this, but Wang Jiao and Princess Guantao were anxious.

——Wang Jiao has the fate of Li Ji's mother and son as an example, how dare she not promise her son to Chen Jiao? She was not only grateful to this aunt, but also shuddered, and she would never dare to disappoint her aunt.

——As for the Princess Liu Yan of Guantao, let alone that, she spent a lot of effort to bring down Li Ji's mother and son, and helped Wang Ji's mother and son to the throne of the queen prince, but she couldn't share the first benefit, how could there be such a cheap thing in the world? She doesn't do it.

So, this pair of scheming women planned a good show that has flowed through the ages.

It is said that one day, Princess Guantao took Chen Jiao to visit the palace of Wang Jiao, during which she teased her nephew Liu Che and said, "Do you want to marry a good daughter-in-law?" ”

Xiao Liu Che listened and immediately nodded.

So Princess Guantao pointed to the maids in the queen's palace one by one, and asked her nephew which one did she fancy?

However, Liu Che shook his head again and again, saying that he did not want to marry any of these palace maidens.

Finally, Princess Guantao pushed her daughter Chen Ajiao in front of her little cousin, and said with a smile: "That aunt married Gillian cousin to you, right?" ”

Who knew that as soon as Liu Che saw his cousin, he immediately smiled, clapped his hands excitedly, and made a wish to Princess Guantao and said: "If my aunt is willing to give Gillian to me as a daughter-in-law, I will build a golden palace for her to live in!" - "If Gillian is a woman, build a house of gold and store it!" ”

As soon as these words came out, Princess Guantao was simply overwhelmed.

So, she immediately ran to her younger brother Liu Qi, repeated what her nephew said to him, and mentioned Chen Jiao's marriage to Liu Che to her brother again.

As soon as Emperor Jing heard it: The little doll who had not dried up the milk smell would actually want to marry his daughter-in-law, and even identified the object. He shook his head repeatedly, saying that he couldn't believe it.

Princess Guantao saw that Liu Qi did not believe him, so she simply led him to the palace of Wang Jiao and asked him to ask his precious son in person.

Sure enough, in front of his father, Liu Che made another wish to Jin Wu Zangjiao.

Emperor Jing couldn't help but laugh, feeling that this matter was not only interesting, but also seemed to have providence, otherwise how could his son recognize his cousin Chen Jiao? What's more, he also made such a solemn wish, then he should conclude this marriage, although his son is young, he is also the future son of heaven, Chrysostom promised, he must not let his son break his vow.

So, in the laughter of Emperor Jing and the comprehension of Wang Jiao and Liu Yan, the confused Chen Jiao and the even more confused Liu Che became a small couple.

This is the origin of the famous allusion to the historical "Kanaya Zangjiao".

To be honest, a seven or eight-year-old little doll can actually make such a decision, and how to look at it is also a very child's thing. Speaking of which, I am afraid that it is still the product of Wang Jiao's anxious wisdom, and she taught her son to say so. I have seen little milk dolls treat "marriage" as delicious candy, and they will shout about who they want to "marry" with whomever they want, even their own parents, their own cats and dogs are all "married".

However, under the "temptation" of dozens of harem beauties, Liu Che did not renege on the spot, and he looked at his cousin Chen Jiao wholeheartedly, and even made such a grand wish as "Golden House", and his liking for Chen Jiao was not fake. This also shows that in the mind of this little brother, the cousin is very attractive. Future generations can also think of Chen Ajiao in the year of Fanghua, just like her name, coquettish and charming - unfortunately, Chen Jiao's husband is the young Liu Che - he is too far from the age of the Merry Martial Emperor. This unhappy ending of the marriage was thus foreshadowed.

While the harem was enjoying the beauty of this marriage, the aftermath of the Western Han Dynasty's dispute over the crown prince was shaking above the court.

  11. Overly doting negative teaching materials

Liu Che was a prince, and Liu Wu, the king of Liang, who was far away in the sealed state, knew. Seeing that his hopes had been dashed, and his mother did not try to fight for herself, he glared angrily. Although Mu Chengzhou could not be changed, his anger could not be contained, and he had to vent his thoughts.

How can you lose your heart? The result of Liu Wu's discussions with his cronies Yangsheng and Gongsun Wei was to send people to kill more than a dozen ministers led by Yuan An, because they were the ones who obstructed it, so that Empress Dowager Dou's motion to establish King Liang as crown prince finally came to naught.

When the first Assassins arrived in the capital, they found that Yuan An's reputation was so good that even passers-by praised him, so they changed their original intentions and made a special trip to meet Yuan An, warning him: "I came to assassinate you, but now I change my mind because you are a respected elder." But there are more than a dozen groups of killers sent by my lord, and although I can't bear it, they won't be unbearable, so you must be more careful. ”

When Yuan Ang heard this, his heart was naturally very uncomfortable. It turned out that just before this assassin came to see him, several strange things happened in the Yuan family one after another. Yuan Ang was depressed, so he went to find a warlock named Pearson to divinate the murderer.

Yuan Ang never expected that on his way back from divination, the successor killer would come.

This time, the killer did not show mercy, and immediately moved to kill Yuan Ang on the spot in the countryside outside the gate of Anling City.

When Emperor Jing heard the bad news, he was shocked and angry, and ordered the whole country to arrest the murderer, but he could not catch it for a while.

The murderer actually has such skills? Jing Di thought about it, and intuited that the mastermind behind this matter must be King Liang. So according to this line of thought, the murderer was quickly captured, and as expected, Yuan An's assassination was exactly King Liang's idea.

The prince dared to send someone to assassinate a heavy minister of the imperial court! Emperor Jing was so angry that he constantly sent envoys to Liang Guo to inquire about the roots, and after repeated inspections, the envoys wanted to arrest Yangsheng and Gongsun Wei, who gave orders directly to the killer.

Yangsheng and Gongsun were embarrassed, and finally had to hide in King Liang's harem.

The envoy did not dare to enter the prince's harem to search for him, and seeing that the emperor's fate was difficult to do, he turned to put pressure on the officials of the Liang state. State Minister Xuan Qiu Leopard and Neishi Han Anguo were angry at both ends, like ants on a hot pot, so they had to take turns to advise Liu Wu, the king of Liang.

Liu Wu saw that the general trend had passed, and it seemed that it would be impossible not to hand over these two guys, but he was afraid that they would leak the inside information of their mastermind. So he did not do anything and forced Yangsheng and Gongsun to commit suicide. In this way, all the messenger got was two ugly corpses that could not speak, and Liu Wu's secret was dead.

Yang Sheng and Gongsun Wei probably didn't understand until the neck of the knife frame, that the "cronies", especially the "cronies" involved in the conspiracy, were not so good!

Although the death of the witness made Liu Qi unable to ask Liu Wuxingshi about the crime, this action itself had confirmed that Liu Wu did have the intention of killing the minister to peep at the imperial throne. Liu Qideng hated this own brother to the bone marrow.

Of course, Liu Wu himself was well aware of this, and as soon as the envoy left on the front foot, he sent Neishi Han Anguo into Beijing on the back foot. He also taught Ji Yi face-to-face, telling Han Anguo to first meet his sister and eldest princess Liu Yan, and follow the path of his mother Empress Dowager Dou through her.

Sure enough, Empress Dowager Dou protected the calf unstoppably, and Emperor Jing had no choice but to deal with this matter.

Hearing that his brother's anger had gradually subsided, Liu Wu dared to write to the imperial court and ask him to see him in Beijing.

When he came to Hangu Pass, the courtier Mao Lan advised King Liang to stop using ceremonial guards, and only took two guards to enter Beijing alone, and hid in the palace of his sister Princess Liu Yan to see the limelight first. The trepidation Liu Wu immediately adopted the idea.

In this way, the envoys sent by the royal family to meet King Liang were empty, and no one in the conglomerate could tell the whereabouts of King Liang.

When Empress Dowager Dou heard that King Liang was missing, she immediately burst into tears: "He obviously said that he wanted to come to visit me, how could he disappear?" It must have been the emperor who killed my son and prevaricated me with his disappearance! "——This old lady doesn't know what is in her mind, isn't Emperor Liu Qi her son?

King Liang, who was hiding in Liu Yan's Palace, finally let go when he heard the news that the Empress Dowager was crying and the emperor was worried, so he entered the palace with a torture instrument on his back to show his sincerity.

Emperor Jing was being upset by the old lady, and when he saw King Liang descending from the sky and relieved himself of the siege, he was overjoyed, and even ignored his crime of assassinating the heavy minister, and immediately performed brotherhood in front of the old lady.

Liu Wu, the king of Liang, finally passed another level by relying on Empress Dowager Dou, but Liu Qi, the superficially friendly Jing Emperor, was very jealous of this younger brother from then on. Don't say that the love for drinking alone in the past has disappeared, even when he travels, he will definitely not share a car with Liu Wu, lest he play assassination again.

If you make a mistake, you will lose the whole game. Liu Wu knew that the general trend had passed, and since then he has converged a lot, especially he has a deeper understanding of the energy of his mother Empress Dowager Dou, and his filial piety has become more and more intense. Every time I heard that Empress Dowager Dou was unhappy, he would sleep and serve in waste, and when Empress Dowager Dou saw her beloved little son cherishing her so much, she really felt that she had not given birth to him in vain, and she pampered him in every way. ——Alas, who knows if he is afraid that the old lady will not be able to afford to get sick, and he will end up being settled by his brother after the fall, so he will have a hard time sleeping!

Four years later (144 BC) in the winter, Liu Wu, the king of Liang, returned to Beijing to meet him. The period of the pilgrimage soon expired, and he made a twist to Emperor Jing as usual, asking him to postpone his stay in Chang'an. According to the previous custom, this twist is just a passing scene, and it is already customary for King Liang to stay in Beijing.

However, this time it was very unexpected, Emperor Jing did not approve King Liang's request to stay in the capital, and let him, like the other princes, go back when the time for the pilgrimage arrived.

After Liu Wu returned to the fengguo in panic, he was restless, so he went hunting in Liangshan, Shandong in the fiefdom to dispel his heart. Unexpectedly, as soon as he arrived at the hunting ground, someone sent him a strange cow, and this cow also had legs on its back. Liu Wu was very disgusted with this cow and felt that it was a bad omen.

Sure enough, in mid-June, Liu Wu fell ill with heat stroke and died after only six days. He was only about forty years old at this time.

Hearing that her youngest son had died, Empress Dowager Dou Qifang immediately cried bitterly, cut off her diet, and said in a hurry: "As expected, the emperor still killed my good son in the end!" ”

The old lady is so partial and unreasonable, Emperor Jing Liu Qi is both sad and afraid, sad that his mother really does not have the slightest love for herself, afraid that she makes such a trouble, in case there is a three long and two short, won't he leave a notoriety of "unfilial piety" in the history books?

Liu Qi, who was at a loss, had to go to her sister Guan Tao Chang Princess Liu Yan, who knew her mother best, for help. Liu Yan really deserved to be Empress Dowager Dou's intimate little cotton jacket, and soon gave him a good idea: Isn't the old lady partial to her younger son? Then the emperor will take good care of Liu Wu's children and give them unconventional rewards, and the old lady will naturally believe that you have not poisoned you, and will give you a good look in the face of your little grandchildren.

Liu Qi was so impressed by his sister's good idea that he immediately reported to the old lady. Empress Dowager Dou listened to Liu Qi's plan to confer the seal, and only then became happy, and immediately resumed her diet, eating a meal in front of Emperor Jing to show him as a reward.

The old lady finally gave up being the "first empress dowager in history to die of hunger strike", and Liu Qi, who withdrew from the empress dowager's palace, wiped the cold sweat on her head and immediately implemented the promise of appeasement one by one.

First of all, he called Liu Wu, the king of Liang, "filial piety" to show his praise for touching the heavens with filial piety. Therefore, when Liu Wu is mentioned in the history books, he is called "King Xiao of Liang".

Then, the great state of Liang was divided into five parts, and Liu Wu's five sons were divided equally. Among them, the eldest son Liu Mai inherited the title of King of Liang, and was historically known as King Gongwang of Liang; second son, Liu Ming, was crowned King of Jichuan; the third son, Liu Peng, left the title King of Jidong; the fourth son, Liu Ding, was crowned King of Shanyang; The fifth son, Liu Bu, was the king of Jiyin.

In the end, even the five daughters of Liu Wu, the king of Liang, each received a share of Tang Muyi's territory, and their actual income caught up with the princess.

Empress Dowager Dou was satisfied, and finally she was willing to pretend to Emperor Jing.

I don't know if Empress Dowager Dou understood that it was only because of her overindulgence and pampering that Liu Wu, the king of Liang, made a mistake again and again, and was almost stabbed twice by the emperor; Although he escaped the scourge of murder, he finally died prematurely in years of fear. The most beloved son could not end well because of his mother's love, I am afraid that Empress Dowager Dou did not expect it at first.

She never expected that when she transferred her love for Liu Wu to Liu Wu's children, the same doting, the same process, and the same ending would be repeated again: among these five kings and grandchildren, four of them were spoiled and murdered, or they were indiscriminately killed or indiscriminately killed, and they were eventually abolished and sealed the country, and even some were abolished to the point of being degraded and lost without a trace. Liu Xiang, the only eldest grandson of Liu Wu who managed to keep the throne, was also reduced to the Eight Cities fief for his disobedience and unfilial piety, and the queen Ren was beheaded on the street.

Dou Qifang's doting on his younger son and grandson is one of the typical negative teaching materials for grandparents and parents in the world.

XII. The deposed prince who fell into the trap

At the same time that Empress Dowager Dou was in love with her younger son, Wang Jiao was also using another method to express her love for her son.

Liu Rong, the son of Li Ji and the "Prince of Li", who has been deposed as the king of Linjiang, has not been forgotten by Wang Jiao and Princess Guantao, although he has been abolished by his mother. They know very well that Liu Rong is the eldest son of Emperor Jing, not to mention that his deposition has no reason to be on the stage, plus he has cultivated his mind for two years, and his wind evaluation is much smarter than the smelly child Liu Che, and Li Ji is dead again, and the dead person will not be annoying anymore, but will often remind people of her good times when she was alive. To sum up, it is difficult to guarantee that Liu Rong will not be taken to heart by his father Liu Qi one day.

Therefore, how to eliminate Liu Rong's grass has become the top priority of his mother Wang Jiao and his aunt Princess Tao Chang.

After a period of planning and waiting, they finally had a "chance".

The Linjiang Palace where Liu Rong lived was relatively small and inconvenient, so Liu Rong wanted to expand. Next to the palace is the temple of his grandfather, Emperor Taizongwen. Therefore, an ordinary project was forcibly implicated and became Liu Rong's rebellious and evil deeds that wanted to "encroach on the temple land". was sued by the internal traitor who had already been arranged to Emperor Jing.

Emperor Jing ordered Liu Rong to come to Chang'an to interrogate the case.

The person in charge of questioning the case was Zhi Du, and although he was a cool official, he did not deal with Liu Rong. It's just that although Liu Rong is young, he already understands that he has fallen into a trap and has no way out. Instead of dying at the hands of his courtiers, it is better to be pure by liberating himself.

In March of the second year of Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Rong, the king of Linjiang, committed suicide in prison.

When the news of his eldest son's suicide came, Emperor Jing Liu Qi did not show any regret, and ordered a burial without thinking. Wang Jiao and Princess Guantao were of course even more excited about this news, feeling that once Prince Li died, the last possible obstacle was also razed, and they were simply happy.

Later, some people lamented that if Liu Rong could endure the simplicity of the residence, he would definitely not end up like this.

The affirmation of these words is that the whole family has not been involved in politics and power for seventeen or eight generations.

Liu Rong's death was simply expected, because his death was completely a political conspiracy, and no matter how careful he was, he could not avoid this ending.

Although Zhidu Li was impartial, he was also extremely harsh. What's more, Liu Qida handed over his son to the officials at the beginning, instead of asking him personally, and he didn't have any good intentions at all.

If he can die when his father is in power, in fact, it is already a good life for Liu Rong, the prince of Li, if he waits a few more years, by the time Liu Che becomes emperor, I am afraid that the end will be even worse - by then he should already have children and daughters, and he will be killed by Princess Guantao Chang and Wang Jiao, and end up with the husband and wife father and son losing their heads together.

Here I have to say another woman who has faded out of people's sight for a long time: she is the former empress of the Xiaobo clan, who has always been unknown. I think that she was careful and obedient at the beginning, but in the end, she still failed to escape Li Ji's jealous sight, and was innocently deposed in the cold palace, and the family also fell into the mud.

I am afraid that when she was sent to the cold palace in the first place, Xiao Bo would not have thought that in less than a year, Li Ji, who framed her, would die, and two years later, even Li Ji's son died in front of her. When these two news arrived one after another, how should she feel after suffering in loneliness?

Is it the joy of revenge? Or is it a deeper fear and tremor for her widowed husband Liu Qi?

No matter what you think, Xiao Bo and Li Ji, they are both losers, they are fighting, and in the end they just pave the way for Wang Jiao and complete her top life.

The year after Liu Rong's suicide, Xiao Bo died in the cold palace.

After Xiao Bo's death, Liu Qi, who had long been cut off from her kindness, buried her as a palace man, and the burial place was in the south of Pingwangting, east of Chang'an City.

Thirteen, the four women around the young Martial Emperor play one play: the Empress Dowager, the Empress Dowager, the Empress, and the Grand Princess

In the first month of the third year after Emperor Jing of Han, Liu Qi and Wang Jiao held a crown ceremony for the crown prince Liu Che.

It is said that the crown ceremony, which represents the age of majority of a man, should be held when he reaches the age of twenty. And Liu Che's actual age at this time was less than sixteen years old, even if he counted the imaginary age, it was far from twenty. The biggest reason is probably that Emperor Jing's body is no longer able to withstand the actual age of his son's full crown ceremony.

Later history seems to confirm this conjecture.

Just a few days after Liu Che held the crown ceremony, on the first lunar day of the third year after Emperor Jing, Liu Qi, the fourth emperor of the Han Dynasty, collapsed in the Weiyang Palace. On February Day, he was buried in Yangling.

In the same month, Liu Che ascended the throne as emperor, and at the same time honored his grandmother Dou Qifang as empress dowager and his mother Wang Jiao as empress dowager.

Emperor Hanjing, who was still in his prime, died just like that. However, his old and strong lady Dou Qifang became more and more spiritual. The life of Wang Jiao Liu Che's mother and son, just like the mother and son of Empress Dowager Dou who begged for life under the shadow of Empress Dowager Bo back then, was really not very good.

Fortunately, the marriage that Wang Jiao concluded for Liu Che and Chen Jiao back then showed its importance even more at this time. Under the smooth and smooth operation of the eldest princess of Guantao Tao, "Dou Tailord" Liu Yan, the grandchildren and daughters-in-law can finally maintain a superficial harmony.

In addition, in the third month of Liu Che's reign as emperor, he made his mother Wang Jiao's half-brother Tian Yu the Marquis of Wu'an and Tian Sheng the Marquis of Zhouyang. These two nouveau riche, together with their half-brother Gaihou Wang Xin, who had already been divided when Wang Jiao was declared empressed, formed the backing of Wang Jiao and Liu Che's mother and son, and began the power struggle between the Empress Dowager family.

When did Chen Jiao marry Liu Che? Shi Wumingzai. However, before Liu Che became emperor, Chen Jiao's crown princess had been serving as the crown princess for several years. It can be seen casually that Liu Che was a completely ignorant child when he first got married, and he was actually anxious to become a groom brother, the only reason is that Chen Jiao has grown up, and it is really not good to stay in her mother's house.

The eldest daughter-in-law and the younger husband, you can imagine how Liu Che was in awe of his eldest cousin's wife at the beginning of his marriage. So that for a long time after becoming emperor, Chen Jiao did whatever she wanted and indulged in the harem, and the concubines in the harem, together with her emperor's young husband, bowed to her.

From the crown princess to the empress, Chen Jiao has been spoiled for more than ten years, and she has indeed lived a very happy life.

However, I don't know if her husband is too young, or Chen Jiao herself is older, or the blood is too close, the sending lady just refuses to give this Gillian queen a green eye, Chen Jiao has never been able to get pregnant, let alone give birth to a prince.

Regarding the infertility of Chen Jiao, Xiao Bo and other concubines, it has always been a matter of speculation.

People now know that pregnancy is often affected by psychological factors, and the more you want to have children, the more the child will not come to reincarnation. For a woman like Chen Jiao, this may be a more important reason.

The emperor had no heirs or few heirs, which had more to do with their adolescent lust, excessive wine, and even infertility.

But it is a little strange that many women who are exclusively petted are infertile. Maybe it's kissing and kissing that makes it difficult for them to give birth? However, the blood marriages of ancient Egypt and the Japanese imperial family still have descendants.

I flipped through the ancient medical books again, and I poured, until the Qing Dynasty, I thought that after a woman's menstrual cycle was the best time to conceive - this is obviously a safe period for absolutely impossible pregnancy! ——It can be imagined that many concubines who used the "best time" to entangle the emperor's husband could possibly conceive a dragon species! Needless to say, Chen Jiao and Xiao Bo and so on... They are all women who have been harmed by this "medical view". Therefore, often nameless palace women in the harem can give birth to children, and favored queen concubines are often infertile: because favored women have the right to fight for the chance of luck when they think it is most suitable to conceive, and palace women can only hit luck. However, those who hit the big luck often collide, and those who want to fight for it can only be in a hurry, I am afraid that this is an important reason. ——By the way, the unlucky ones also include the men themselves, and there is no recruitment.

At this time, Emperor Wu's court, Empress Dowager Dou was old and strong, and continued to promote her most convincing Huang Lao's art and Taoist words in the dynasty of her grandson as emperor.

However, the young Emperor Wu and his close ministers, Zhao Xuan, Langzhong Ling, Wang Zang, the second clan of Tian Wang, and even Empress Dowager Dou's nephew, Dou Ying, wanted to change the way of Huang Lao to Confucianism and consolidate centralized rule.

At this time, Confucianism was actually more suitable for the actual situation of the Han Dynasty: many princes and princesses with high weights were unwilling to live in their own fiefdoms, and had to stay in Chang'an City to stir up trouble, dictate national affairs, and even have a vague ambition to seize the throne of the monarchy. And Confucianism attaches great importance to honor and inferiority, and it is absolutely impossible to tolerate them making such trouble.

Therefore, Liu Che built the Ming Hall and asked the princes to return to their own fiefdoms, otherwise they would be punished. In this way, the guys led by the Marquis of the Dou Clan could not sit still, and ran vigorously to the East Palace of Empress Dowager Dou, and some did not say all the bad things about Liu Che and the ministers.

Although Empress Dowager Dou couldn't see with her eyes, her idea was very big. Especially when she heard that Liu Qi's son actually wanted to have a bad relationship with the old Dou family, and also violated the policy of governing the country implemented by his husband Emperor Wen, she was even more angry: This Liu Che Xiaoer, I saw him as not a good thing at the beginning, but I hated the rebellious son Liu Qi regardless of brotherhood, and had to kill my good son Liu Wu and pass the throne to him - hmph, although my eyes are blind, I understand better than anything in my heart, and now sure enough, Liu Che actually dares to shake the ancestral law! Abominable to the extreme!

Therefore, Mrs. Dou later settled the general account after the autumn, and had a big attack, not only forcing Liu Che to destroy Mingtang, but also forcing him to kill several close confidants and ministers, and even her own nephew Dou Ying could not escape, and she was relieved of her official position and locked up at home to think about it behind closed doors.

But then again, Empress Dowager Dou's strong reaction to Liu Che also made some sense.

This truth lies in the fact that Wang Jiao's cutting of Liu Rong's grass and roots was too bad.

Although Empress Dowager Dou did not say good things for Liu Rong out of selfish desire to establish Liu Wu when Liu Rong the Prince of Li was deposed, it was her eldest grandson after all, and her love for Liu Rong was far deeper than that of her own father Liu Qi.

The news of Liu Rong's suicide reached the ears of this grandmother, and Empress Dowager Dou was simply furious. Although Liu Rong's death was not directly related to Zhi, she was not good at what happened immediately, but she still insisted on removing her post and investigating.

Emperor Jing was reluctant to Zhi, and secretly appointed him as the Taishou of Yanmen, teaching him to stay away from the Empress Dowager and become an official.

Not to mention, Zhidu is really a person, as soon as he arrived at Yanmen Pass, the Xiongnu did not even dare to fight him, and immediately fled after hearing the wind, afraid of his cruel and murderous desire. What's more, even the puppet arrow target made by Zhaozhidu, no Hun dared to shoot an arrow.

Unfortunately, within a few years, this matter was known to Empress Dowager Dou, and she immediately forced Emperor Jing to kill Zhidu.

Emperor Jing defended: "Zhidu has great merit in guarding the border and is a loyal minister. ”

Empress Dowager Dou roared, "He is a loyal minister, then my grandson Liu Rong is not a loyal minister?!" ”

Yes, Emperor Jing finally had the courage to teach this old lady to roar back. The hero and good man could not do it, and had to hang his head and order the beheading of Zhidu.

Alas, think about it, Old Lady Dou's second fire, it's really not the right time!

Anyway, Old Lady Dou's disgust and disgust for Liu Che has been around for a long time. If it weren't for Liu Che kid marrying the petite daughter of her daughter Liu Yan, I'm afraid how many times she would have died in her hands.

However, although Chen Jiao's mother, Princess Guantao, was able to contribute to Liu Che's imperial throne in front of Empress Dowager Dou, Chen Jiao's own infertility was constantly looking for trouble for her mother and young husband.

Empress Dowager Dou's dislike of Liu Che's mother and son has long been deep-rooted, and it is not a day or two that she wants to replace this Emperor Sun. When Liu Che was seventeen years old, she wanted to abolish him, and although she took back this idea under the mediation of her daughter Liu Yan, it was just a stopgap measure.

By the time Liu Che was eighteen years old, Empress Dowager Dou once again came up with a new method with the princes and ministers of Liu Dou's second clan: under the pretext that Liu Che "had no prince", saying that he guarded a huge harem, but could not even give birth to a son and a half daughter, there must be something wrong, for the sake of the country's plan, he elected his uncle Liu An the Prince of Huainan as the crown prince as the crown prince to succeed Liu Che. ——This Liu An is the founder of tofu.

The eighteen-year-old young emperor is in his youth, why should he assert that he must not have children in the future? It's just a matter of choosing an heir for him in a hurry, but if you want to choose a guy who is honored by the elders, can't the entire old Liu family find a little baby to inherit at this time? What idea Empress Dowager Dou hit, people can simply guess.

For a time, the internal turmoil of the Western Han Dynasty changed, and Liu Che's mother and son were terrified.

Although Princess Guantao once again intervened to stop this coup, this attempted coup has deeply imprinted the terrible consequences of "childlessness" in Liu Che's mind - Liu Che, who was already tired of his cousin, has even more reason to mess with flowers.

  XIV. The Young Emperor's Affair

Since Liu Che was the emperor, his flowers and grass were naturally larger than ordinary people, and even his eldest sister, Princess Pingyang, helped him choose beautiful women in his territory on the grounds of "worrying about his disciples".

In the spring of the year Liu Che was eighteen years old, he received a "big gift" from his sister: the kabuki Wei Zifu.

Wei Zifu's entry into the palace made Chen Jiao furious: I didn't expect that her cousin husband, who had always been honest and obedient, would dare to go outside behind his back to hook up!

Chen Jiao's anger had no small consequences: Wei Zifu was abandoned as a palace servant, and Liu Che's "disorderliness" was sued by Princess Guantao in front of Wang Jiao.

As soon as Wang Jiao heard Princess Guantao's accusation, she knew that things were not good: this aunt could not afford to offend.

After sending away Princess Guantao with a smiling face, Wang Jiao immediately summoned her son to the front and taught him an important life education: "Son, son, you are young when you first ascended the throne, and those old guys in the dynasty are not very convinced; A while ago, because of the matter of Mingtang, he provoked the Empress Dowager, and almost didn't even guarantee the imperial throne. It is precisely when you want your aunt to strongly support it, why argue with your aunt and cousin over such a thing? My mother is a woman, and now I want to teach you a little way to deal with women: women are very easy to deal with, you can do whatever you want behind your back, don't forget to say good things in front of her, as long as the sweetness pleases her. You are still young, you must be careful in everything! ”

Wang Jiao's words are really old-fashioned, and two thousand years later we can still discover the secret of her success: first, she is very aware of her weaknesses as a woman, so she will not be dazzled by the "affection" occasionally revealed by her common husband Liu Qi like other harem concubines, but always stay awake and control the situation as much as possible; Second, because she is familiar with the weaknesses of women, she is more able to create a situation favorable to herself in the pile of women in the harem: anyway, if she sounds good, she does not need capital, and her lips are endless when she touches it, but it is enough for her to turn enemies into friends and make good connections in the harem; Third, and more importantly, she never had any thoughts such as Zhi'en Tubao in her mind, Liu Yan and her or some affection, but Chen Jiao for her, is just a tool to use - this mother-in-law is simply from the interests rather than from the husband and wife relationship and kindness to persuade her son and daughter-in-law to reconcile. Just as the so-called parents are the growth role models of their children, Liu Che can already see what kind of attitude he can adopt towards his concubine in the future under the words and deeds of the old woman.

Liu Che listened to the old woman's words, and immediately nodded and said yes, and resumed his respectful attitude towards his aunt, mother-in-law and cousin's wife.

Of course, Liu Che's respect at this time was only superficial, and behind the scenes, he was already a wild horse that could not be contained.

Soon, Liu Che and Wei Zifu rekindled their old relationship, like glue. Although he hid Wei Zifu in the outer courtyard of the palace in order to prevent the leakage of the wind, the wind still inevitably leaked: Wei Zifu was pregnant.

After a battle, Chen Jiao lost a big battle in the fight for her husband. Seeing that it was useless for her daughter to cry and seek death, Princess Guantao wanted to kill Wei Zifu. As a result, in order to protect Wei Zifu and the fetus in his womb, Liu Che hid Wei Zifu in his own dormitory, but his feelings became closer. So Liu Yan turned to kill her brother Wei Qing, but not only let Wei Qing run, but also made him promoted to official because of misfortune.

In the process of this family farce, neither Empress Dowager Dou nor Wang Jiao participated openly. Wang Jiao's non-participation can be imagined, and Empress Dowager Dou's non-participation is more understandable: they are all harem women from concubines, and they all have instinctive difficulty accepting Chen Jiao's behavior.

Wei Zifu's pregnancy fundamentally overturned the hypothesis that "Chen Jiao is infertile, and its disease lies in Liu Che". The people inside and outside the palace turned their skeptical eyes to Chen Jiao.

Chen Jiao herself also knew that something was wrong, and thankfully Wei Zifu's first, second, and third children were all daughters.

Taking advantage of the fact that Wei Zifu and other concubines in the harem failed to give birth to sons, Chen Jiao and her mother, Princess Guantao, sought medical treatment and medicine, spending 90 million money before and after. But no amount of money is useful, if you don't give birth, you don't give birth.

  15. With the death of Empress Dowager Dou, the foreign relatives of the Dou family gradually set the western mountain, and the foreign relatives of the Wang family began to make a grand appearance.

When Liu Yan and Chen Jiao were anxious about the "sister-in-law" without a shadow, something worse happened:

In the summer of the sixth year of Liu Che's accession to the throne, Empress Dowager Dou finally fell ill and became terminally ill. This legendary woman will pass away after enjoying all the honor of the world and tasting the bitterness of the world.

At the end of his life, Dou Qifang still missed the children he raised. Two of her three children have died before her, and although her living daughter, Liu Yan, has long been an adult and is rampant, she will always be a lovely and pitiful child in her mother's eyes.

Dou Qifang's last words were: All the artifacts in the Empress Dowager's palace, as well as all his accumulated property, belonged to Liu Yan.

After making the last efforts and arrangements for her daughter's prosperity, on May Ding Hai, Empress Dowager Dou Qifang died of illness.

Empress Dowager Dou, a mother-in-law who was bent on living with her mother and son, finally died, and Wang Jiao could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

With the death of Empress Dowager Dou, the foreign relatives of the Dou family, who had been in full bloom, gradually set the western mountain, and the foreign relatives of the Wang family began to make a grand appearance.

As early as when Wang Jiao was first crowned empress, her half-brother Wang Xin had already become "Marquis of Gai"; Her biological father, Wang Zhong, who died early, was posthumously honoured as "Marquis of Gong" and set aside 200 households in Yuanyi. By the time Liu Che first ascended the throne, her mother, the snobbish lady Zang'er, became the "Prince of the Plains" (on the day of the title, Zang'er must have sung the praises of her wisdom in the past); his half-brother Tian Yu is "Marquis of Wu'an"; Tian Sheng is the "Marquis of Zhou Yang".

In April of the summer of the fourth year of Emperor Wu, Lady Zang'er, the "Prince of the Plains", died of illness. Although Wang Jiao was obsessed with her biological father, she still buried her mother and Tian stepfather in the Changling area according to common sense, and the scale and number of households in the mausoleum were the same as those of her biological father.

According to Wang Jiao's wishes, she should be more willing to let her own brother Wang Xin get more power. It's a pity that Wang Xin didn't fight for his sister, and after he had a knighthood, he concentrated on pleasure, good wine and greedy glasses, and didn't even bother to move his brain except for studying eating and drinking. Wang Jiao had to support the two younger brothers surnamed Tian, and from then on, the Empress Dowager Wang family began the history of controlling the internal and external affairs of the Han Dynasty.

The two brothers Tian Yu and Tian Sheng are very keen on power, greedy for wealth, and very clever, able to speak well, thick-skinned, hands and feet are also very diligent, coupled with the diligent treatment of the Empress Dowager's sister, they have received her firm support, and gradually power over the world——(Hey, it seems that corrupt officials and traitors are not easy to be!) )

Speaking of which, the Empress Dowager Dou's family can quickly replace the Empress Dowager Dou family above the court, which has a lot to do with the fact that Empress Dowager Dou is always confused.

The Dou family is full of sons and brothers who are capable of pleasure and lewdness, and the only person with real talent and majesty is his nephew Dou Ying. However, after Empress Dowager Dou was old, she didn't make decisions at all, and everything was transferred by her own eccentric eyes, so she instead regarded Dou Ying, the top talent of the Dou family, as a thorn in her eyes.

The reason is simply that from the very beginning, Dou Yingda resolutely opposed Empress Dowager Dou's bad idea of making Liu Wu the Prince of Liang an imperial heir, believing that Empress Dowager Dou's excessive doting would not only harm Liu Wu, but also harm the entire Dou clan.

Empress Dowager Dou was faint, and did not appreciate her nephew's painstaking efforts, but became angry and removed him from his official position. It was not until later when the nations were in turmoil and the state was in an emergency that he had to be recalled again. Later, Empress Dowager Dou and Dou Ying also had a good relationship, and even strongly recommended him to Emperor Jing to be the prime minister. But not long after, because Dou Ying liked Confucianism, Empress Dowager Dou turned her face again, removed her nephew from his post again for investigation, and locked him up. As a result, the Dou family once again lost the opportunity to grasp power.

The Empress Dowager, on the other hand, understood very well from the beginning the importance of cultivating family power - of course, more importantly, the Tian brothers had aspirations with the Empress Dowager in establishing the crown prince.

With Empress Dowager Dou's action of digging into a corner in front of herself, the collapse of Dou Ying and the entire Dou family was several times faster than it was a matter of course.

In fact, the death of Dou Ying, which implicated the entire Dou family, is an inexplicable and confused case, and what can be related before and after, in addition to Empress Dowager Dou, there are also factors such as Tian Yu, Doufu, Empress Dowager Wang and others.

  16. The duel between the two uncles: Dou Ying and Tian Yu

The character of the field worm is completely the inheritance of the mother's Zang'er, a whole snob. Therefore, he must have a better relationship with his half-sister Wang Jiao, and Wang Jiao's care for this younger brother is therefore more reasonable.

In the third year of Emperor Jing, Empress Dowager Dou's nephew Dou Ying was already in the position of a great general, and Tian Yu was just the half-brother of "Mrs. Wang" and a small Lang official, which was really different from Dou Ying.

In order to flatter the general and the Empress Dowager Dou behind him, Tian Yu frequently ran to the general's mansion, kneeling to serve Dou Ying with the gift of children and grandchildren, and his attitude was extremely respectful.

With the passage of time, "Mrs. Wang" became "Empress Wang" and "Empress Wang", and Tian Yu's identity became higher and higher, and finally became a grand marquis. Especially after Liu Che ascended the throne and the second empress dowager Dou became regent, Tian Yu's recitals and suggestions to his sister Empress Dowager Wang were almost unimpeded. It is in stark contrast to Empress Dowager Dou's restriction of Dou infants. Gradually, all the officials and famous men in the world left Dou Ying and turned to Tian Yu.

With the momentum, Tian Yu naturally wanted to be an extremely powerful minister. However, at this time, Empress Dowager Dou was still there, and Tian Yu knew that his wings were still in his infancy, so he retreated to advance, and instead asked his sister Empress Dowager Wang to suggest his nephew Emperor Wudi of Han to make Dou Ying the prime minister, and himself to be the imperial lieutenant - the position of imperial lieutenant, although the reputation is not as loud as the prime minister, but the status and influence are comparable to the prime minister, but it is a good position to make a fortune without showing mountains and water.

A year later, Empress Dowager Dou had another big seizure and removed her nephew Cheng, who dared to contradict her, and refused to even see him. Well, now Mrs. Dou is surrounded by good relatives who sing praises and praises, and her heart finally blooms.

Unlike Mrs. Dou's stupidity, although Wang Jiao was forced to agree to dismiss his younger brother as a lieutenant, she had been secretly supporting him, and anyone recommended by Tian Yu could be reused, and all his ideas could be adopted. As time passed, Dou Ying became depressed day by day, but Tian Yu's strength became more and more impressive. Finally, he waited for the good day when Empress Dowager Dou drove Hexi.

As soon as Empress Dowager Dou died, Tian Yu immediately changed his body and became the new prime minister of the Han Dynasty. He immediately showed the face of an upstart, and the pie leader immediately saw the wind.

Whenever he entered the palace to perform affairs, he put on the appearance of a national stock and an uncle of the family. The officials of the Han Dynasty appointed and dismissed him to take control, and those recommended by him could rise from idlers to 2,000-stone ministers at once. After a long time, Emperor Liu Wudi instead wanted to make a request to him: "Have all the officials you want to appoint already been appointed?" If there are still vacancies, how many would I like to appoint? ”

When the power is great, of course, it is necessary to put on a big show. So Tian Yu felt that his mansion was not big enough, and he wanted to choose a land to expand - choose to choose, he took a fancy to the National Examiner's Office. I want to demolish the government building and build my own yard. Emperor Wu couldn't help but get angry and complained: "It's better for you to simply dismantle the national arsenal and move it away!" Tian Yu found that his nephew Emperor was really angry, so he dismissed the idea.

Although Tian Yu put on a posture of honor in front of the emperor, in front of his own family, he did not take "seniority and childhood" seriously.

Speaking of which, Gaihou Wang Xin's blood is closer to Liu Che, not only his uncle, but also Tian Yu's half-brother. However, when Tian Yu set up wine and banquets at home, he all put on the appearance of being the prime minister of the dynasty, and insisted that Wang Xin sit at the accompanying table, and he sat high in the main seat to the east. The reason is: he is the prime minister of the Great Han Dynasty, and his status is noble, how can he forget his public affairs because of his private interests, and let the district Hou Ye mess up the rules and regulations of the country? ——At this time, Tian Yu seemed to have forgotten that he was in front of the emperor and asked the emperor to respect his virtues with family etiquette.

Tian Yu was so alive in front of the emperor and his brother, let alone in front of other ministers and officials.

The most obvious manifestation and the biggest contrast was in front of Dou Ying, who had served as a descendant when he was cold.

Dou Ying had lost his power at this time, and the sycophants of the past had also left him, and only General Doufu treated him as always.

The bushman is a military general, good at fighting the enemy, but not good at bragging about horses, and very contemptuous of those who climb to high positions by sneaking horses, and is now in color. In addition, he is more reckless, so he is often calculated by people with real power, and although he has been repeatedly reinstated because of the real needs of the country, he has repeatedly been demoted for some small things.

Only then did Dou Ying discover the straightness and benefits of the doufu, so he became close to him and shared brotherhood.

Doufu is very dissatisfied with Dou Ying's situation and wants to help him improve his status.

This is how the disaster began.

XVII. The death of the infant of the doufu

During the mourning period, he went to visit Tian Yu the day before. Tian Yu said politely without words: "I originally wanted to go with you to visit Wei Qihou Dou Ying, but you are now in mourning, so I can't go." ”

Shufu hurriedly replied, "The prime minister is willing to stoop to see Wei Qihou, how dare I shirk your good intentions because of mourning." I will go and tell Wei Qihou Dou Ying, let him set up a ceremonial guard commensurate with your status, prepare a sumptuous banquet, and wait for your visit tomorrow. ”

  Tian Yu casually agreed.

The bushman was very happy and immediately told Dou Ying. Dou Ying was very happy, bought wine and meat to prepare dishes, and also cleaned the house again, busy all night until dawn.

Who knew that he waited until noon, and he didn't see the shadow of Tian Yu.

Dou Ying and his wife planned to swallow their anger, but the bushman was angry and went to the door to ask Tian Yu. Tian Yu didn't take the promise of the previous day seriously at all, and when the bushman arrived, he was still sleeping. I really couldn't push it off, so I went out slowly.

Coming to Dou Yingfu, in order to enliven the atmosphere, Gufu sang and danced in the banquet, and invited Tian Yu to appear together. Tian Yu pretended to be deaf and dumb. Shufu finally couldn't help but get angry and mocked Tian Yu with words.

Dou Ying did not dare to offend Tian Yu, so he did everything possible to forgive the bushman and said all kinds of good things, which made Tian Yu drink the banquet until dark.

Soon, Tian Yu took a fancy to Dou Ying's Tian Mansion in the south of Chang'an City, so he sent Guofu to ask Dou Ying for it. Dou Ying was very angry and said, "Although I am not what I used to be, although he is a nobleman, but everything has to be reasonable, how can I rob my property?" When he heard it next to him, he was even more angry, and he scolded the martial general-the martial general scolded people, then it was far from being comparable to an old master like Dou Ying, and it must be very impressive.

Gufu is a good person, he had a friendship with Dou Ying in the past, and he couldn't bear to let him suffer losses, so he endured the stinky scolding of the doufu, and made up another set of lies to round the field for Dou Ying, coaxing Tian Yu to say: "Dou Ying is old and dying, please wait a while longer, and then give you the field after death." ”

Who knew that there was no wall in the world that did not leak, and soon Tian Yu knew the truth, and immediately became furious, and calculated the general account: "Dou Ying, this guy, his son is my life; I think that when I served him, I was very respectful to him, and he owed me more, and now he asked him how many fields he wanted, and he couldn't bear it? And the old immortal man, I don't want his family's land, what is he doing next to him? I don't want this land anymore, but I won't let these two guys go! ”

In the spring of 131 BC, Tian Yu took the momentum of his nephew Emperor Wu to strictly deal with the sins of Gufu running amok in the countryside. And the bushman is not a fuel-saving lamp, and he has already secretly grasped some hidden things about the field worm. So the two attacked each other in person, and what should not be said and what should not be done was all out of the cage, making a mess. The onlookers and ministers couldn't see it, and they all interceded. The two saw that the other party did have their own mistakes in hand, and if they continued to fight, they might lose both, so they reluctantly reconciled.

However, this is just a delayed eruption of the volcano, to put it ugly, just covering the surface of the mass, but the inside has been suppurated, once it occurs, the consequences are even more unimaginable.

In the summer of the same year, Tian Yu married a wife, and the new lady was noble, and she was the granddaughter of Liu Ze the King of Yan and the daughter of King Jia of Kang.

Needless to say, this marriage was arranged by the Queen Mother, in order to make her brother's status more icing on the cake. Therefore, she also made a special decree, asking all the princes and royal relatives to go to congratulate and drink happy wine.

The bushman knew that the wine was not good, and he couldn't control his emotions after getting drunk, so he was afraid that he would cause trouble, so he didn't want to go. However, Dou Ying thought that the wedding banquet would help further reconciliation, and he had to be dragged away. —— Whether it is a blessing or a curse, just in the moment, Dou Ying's thought made him fall into a situation where everything could not be recovered.

At the banquet, Tian Yu toasted everyone first, and everyone left the table to the ground, expressing their disdain. And when Dou Ying then toasted everyone, most of the people still sat high.

For this kind of treatment, Dou Ying himself did not make a sound, but the bushman was very uneven. When he toasted himself, he took the opportunity to scold the Marquis of Linru, who refused to salute him.

Tian Yu was very dissatisfied with the trouble-stirring bushman and had a seizure. This attack did not matter, the bushman used the strength of the drink to incurse the donkey, and cursed on the spot. Shufu pressed his neck and asked him to apologize, but he refused to admit his mistake.

Tian Yuzheng was worried that he could not find a fork to dispose of the guofu, and seeing that he was pretending to be crazy with wine, he immediately ordered people to imprison him, and wrote to his sister Empress Dowager, saying that the gufu had disrupted the wine banquet and insulted the empress dowager's will, which was "great disrespect" and should be exterminated.

When Dou Ying heard the news, he was extremely angry, so he took the initiative to go to the emperor to defend the doufu and explain the situation at the banquet in detail. Emperor Wu also felt that the gufu was just a drunken gaffe, and he should not die, let alone exterminate the clan. However, Tian Yu said the opposite, not mentioning the incident of the drunken faux pas, but talking about the other faults of the doufu, and everything could be vigorously involved in the rebellion.

Emperor Wu then turned to the other ministers present, and Han Anguo, the imperial master, said: "Gufu's father died fighting for the country, and Gufu is also a famous number one warrior in the army, and it is indeed very undeserved to be executed for a few words of wine." But he ran amok in the countryside with merit, and insulted the royal family and state in public, how to deal with it, the emperor himself took up his own mind. ”

Han Anguo said this, but did not say it, and Emperor Wu asked the opinions of others. As a result, the vast majority of the Manchu dynasty did not dare to speak out.

Emperor Wu realized that the courtiers were more afraid of the two prime ministers than he was the emperor, and he was immediately furious and flicked his sleeves back to the palace.

Who knows, the palace does not let him be quiet. Wang Jiao had already sent someone to inquire about the news in the court, so he knew exactly what happened ahead. As soon as the emperor returned, she immediately went on a hunger strike in anger and said, "If I am still alive, others will dare to bully my brother, and when I die, won't I cut him as fish and eat him as meat?" Since you are an emperor, you dare not make your own claims in everything, and you still want to let this group of ministers debate? These guys will only echo now, if you die someday, will there be a reliable person ?! ”

At this time, Liu Che, although he was reluctant in his heart for a thousand or ten thousand, but like his grandfather Emperor Wen and father Emperor Jing, he had nothing to do with the old woman, so he had to bow his head and admit his mistake.

In this way, the bushman is dead.

Dou Ying still wanted to try his best to save Doufu's life, so he asked his nephew to write to the emperor, saying that he had an edict from Emperor Jing in his hand, hoping to be summoned by Emperor Wu again.

What Dou Ying did not expect was that the official who kept the archives actually reported to Emperor Wu, saying that there was no such edict in the record, and Dou Ying must have forged the will of the previous emperor. In this way, Dou Ying not only failed to appeal for the doufu, but also caused great trouble.

In October 130 BC, both Shufu and his family were executed.

After getting the news, Dou Ying was so angry that he had a stroke. In this way, Tian Yu refused to let him go—and soon, rumors about Dou Ying spread in Chang'an City, all the way to Emperor Wu's ears. Emperor Wu ordered the investigation - what was the result of the trace, you could figure it out with your toes ...

On the last day of December 130 BC, Wei Qihou Dou Ying, who was already half-dead, was tied up by five flowers and beheaded in public on the streets of Weicheng.

The bushman who dared to be disrespectful to himself and the dou infant who once bowed to his knees were all killed by himself, and Tian Yu let out a big breath of evil and was in a good mood.

Although the doufu is indeed rude, and he has done a lot of domineering things and is unpopular with the people, but Tian Yu is actually more arrogant and domineering than him, so how can he have the right to accuse the bushman? What's more, it was enough to sin in one person, but Tian Yu had to wipe out the Guan family, and even more wanted to fake rumors to trick the emperor into killing even Dou Ying. This person's character and face are also terrifying enough.

XVIII. The unjust soul demands his life, and the retribution of the field worm

  Sure enough, retribution soon came.

In the spring of the following year (the third year of the Yuan Dynasty, 126 BC), Tian Yu fell ill. Every day, he kept shouting, saying words of apology and confession.

Needless to say, this strange scene can frighten the entire family headed by Wang Jiao. Hurriedly invited a wizard who could see ghosts to come for treatment.

The wizard turned around and left, saying, "The prime minister can no longer be saved, there are two powerful ghosts guarding his bedside, and these two ghosts are very vicious, they are unwilling to take his life." ”

Ask the wizard about the appearance of the two ghosts, and the wizard who has never seen the two powerful ghosts described by the doufu and dou baby, but it seems to be exactly the same as the doufu dou baby.

Well, as soon as I heard the wizard's words, starting with Wang Jiao, everyone was cold and had nothing to say.

Soon, Tian Yu died in the midst of gibberish. Only a few months longer than the doufu infant he killed.

Four years later, Tian Tian's son Tian committed a crime and deposed the knight. The bad deeds that the Tian family had done in the past were revealed to the world at this time.

In the first year of Yuangari (122 BC), Liu An the King of Huainan and Liu Ci the King of Hengshan rebelled. When tracking down his fellow party, Tian Yu had previously belonged to Liu An.

That was when Emperor Wu first ascended the throne and Tian Yu became the imperial lieutenant. At that time, Empress Dowager Dou, on the grounds that Emperor Wu had no children, wanted to make Liu An the Prince of Huainan the crown prince as the imperial uncle, waiting for the opportunity to depose Liu Che. At that time, Liu An entered Beijing to meet him, and Tian Yu, who was good at seeing the wind and rudder, went to Bashang to greet him, and said to Liu An: "The emperor has no prince, you are both wise and a grandson of Gaozu, once the emperor dies early, who is still qualified to succeed you if you do not succeed to the throne?" ”

Tian Yu was the emperor's own uncle, and of course he said this differently, listening to Liu An'an's cheerfulness, he felt more and more that the little emperor was betraying his relatives, and he was prosperous, and immediately gave a large amount of gold and silver treasures, and introduced Tian Yu as a confidant, promising that once he was promoted, he would not forget his grace of knowledge.

Needless to say, when Martial Emperor Liu Che heard this "old news", he hated how itchy his teeth were. When he killed Dou Ying earlier, he was already very unwilling, thinking that the two of them did not deserve to die, and they were all forced to do it by their mother. Now when he heard such news, he was even more angry and cursed: "But the hateful Tian Yu also accused the bush of rebellion, he is a real chaotic thief!" If this guy hadn't died early, I would have exterminated his clan!" ”

Tian Yu's ability to do evil is inseparable from Wang Jiao's support. This also shows how much Wang Jiao protects her mother's family. - Huh, who said girls are extroverts?

Of course, Wang Jiao's protection is no more than to Tian Yu, but in addition to Tian Yu, she also cares for other family members very favorably.

  19. Beautiful man Han Yan

Wang Jiao managed his only son, Liu Che, the son of heaven at the time, needless to say, very tightly. Because this is not only her only son, but also the whole dependence of her family. In addition, it seems that it has become a habit for the early Han emperors to fear their mothers, and everyone is silent in front of their biological mothers. Needless to say, Lü Xi and Liu Ying, even Empress Dowager Bo, who was the mildest and most cautious in the history books, let her son Liu Qi offer it like a god.

Wang Jiao naturally learned a lot of skills from her predecessors. For example, her mother-in-law Empress Dowager Dou's hunger strike to protest her son, she once performed it because of her younger brother Tian Yu, and forced her son to kill the minister who did not want to kill.

Of course, her son's obedience is Wang Jiao's biggest dream (and the dream of all parents in the world), so in her opinion, anyone or thing that may lead her son to go on an "evil path" or even go against her will is of course unforgivable.

It was in this situation that Han Yan hit the iron plate.

Han Yan is Han Xin's great-grandson and Liu Che's close friend who grew up together. To be precise, he is the one who accompanies the princes to study, and among all the princes and accompanying students, Liu Che is the only one who is most in tune with him. When Liu Che became emperor and practiced martial arts to prepare for the Xiongnu, he took the lead in practicing Xiongnu weapons and practicing "knowing oneself and knowing oneself".

In addition to official affairs, his relationship with Liu Che in private is also very good, Liu Che often eats and sleeps with Han Yan regardless of the courtesy of the monarch, and his relationship is even far above the harem concubines, and the rewards he receives far exceed those of others. ——In this regard, the Western Han Dynasty has a family experience.

By the way, Han Yan's great-grandfather Han Xin: This Han Xin is not another Han Xin, not the well-known Huaiyin Han Xin who endured the humiliation of stepping down, but the descendants of the Korean royal family in the pre-Qin period, and their ancestral residence is in Nanyang. Han Wang Xin was a cousin of King Li of Han, who defected to Liu Bang in the Chu-Han Dispute, and as a result of this wise investment, Han Xin was made King of Taiyuan Han after the Han dynasty gained the world.

However, Liu Bang and Lü Xi were never lightly suspicious, and the fate of Han Xin, the Marquis of Huaiyin, was similar to that of Han Xin, the king of Taiyuan, who was soon suspected of rebellion by Liu Bang. With the bitter lessons of other kings with different surnames, Taiyuan Han Wangxin had to choose to flee the Xiongnu, and it was not until after Han Wangxin's death, that Emperor Hanwen rehabilitated all the heroes who had been wronged during the reign of Gaozu, and his two sons Han Ying and Han Wandang dared to lead the people back home.

Han Yan is the grandson of Han Yandang, Marquis of Gonggao.

Han Yan was very clear about his special status in the emperor's mind, so he was never willing to treat himself badly. For example, he likes to ride and shoot, and often goes out to shoot. But unlike others, his slingshot is not a stone bullet or an arrow, but a gold projectile. And it is not stingy to use, using more than a dozen every day. The people in Chang'an City therefore sang a ballad: "Bitter hunger and cold, chase the golden pill." "- Suffering from hunger and cold? Hurry up and chase the golden pill!

Therefore, as long as they heard that Han Yan was ejecting out, children inside and outside Chang'an City rushed to chase his carriage and horse, picking up the golden pills that landed on the ground one by one to supplement their families. Han Yan didn't think much, and seemed to be very satisfied that his golden pill could come in handy.

Of course, Han Dashao is by no means a thrifty and good person, he is just a gentleman who does not have much heart, and he absolutely does not do anything to treat himself. In addition to shooting random bullets with gold as a projectile, he also used tortoiseshell as a bed, brocade clothes and jade food, and was happy.

It may be that the happiness is too much, and gradually Han Yan is a little carried away. Cough, after getting carried away, of course, outrageous things will follow, and the results in the future will of course be imagined.

  20. The anger of Liu Fei, King of Jiangdu

According to the state system, all the princes and kings who were divided into foreign princes would regularly visit the Empress Dowager and the Emperor in Beijing. Once, Liu Fei, the king of Jiangdu, entered Beijing to see him as usual. He was the son of Lady Cheng to Emperor Jing and was Emperor Wu's half-brother. Needless to say, Emperor Wu still had some affection for this brother, and specially invited him to go hunting in Shanglin Garden with him.

Regarding Liu Fei, King of Jiangdu, I would like to talk about it in particular.

Liu Fei was the fifth son of Emperor Jing (?) Long before his eldest brother Liu Rong was made crown prince, at the age of fifteen, he took the initiative to ask for help, asking to lead an army to conquer the rebellion of Liu Li, the king of Wu, and won a great victory. (By the way, counting the age again, it can be seen that Liu Rong, as the eldest son alive, was always around eighteen years old when he became the prince the following year.) Then, Liu Yan proposed to this nephew for her daughter, it can be seen that Chen Jiao should be at least fifteen years old, and Liu Che is only six or seven years old at this time - how much older should she be than Liu Che? If she herself was about the same age as Liu Rong or even older, it would be even further away from Liu Che... Alas, Chen Jiao is really suffering, you can imagine what kind of situation is between her and her young husband Liu Che. If it weren't for her mother's greed, she would have married a young man of the right age, to be honest, Liu Fei would be very good! ...... )

Liu Fei's great victory as the prince of the war made his father's Liu Qida feel glorious, so he moved him from the king of Runan to the king of Jiangdu, gave him the fiefdom of his defeated general Liu Li the King of Wu, and specially allowed him to use the honor guard of the Son of Heaven. ——Heehee, even if you are an emperor, your sons and daughters have outstanding talents, and they can't help but triumphantly show their old faces everywhere.

After Liu Fei took office, he did whatever he wanted in his own territory, recruiting heroes from all directions, and practicing martial arts and military training. In the fifth year of Yuan Guang's Xiongnu invasion, he couldn't help but itch his hands and wrote to his younger brother to ask for battle. At this time, Liu Fei was already in his forties, and Liu Che did not agree to his brother's request. In December of the following year, Liu Fei died of illness. He was posthumously known as King Yi of Jiangdu.

But dragons do not necessarily give birth to dragons, and phoenixes do not necessarily give birth to phoenixes. The heroic Liu Fei did not give birth to a good son. Liu Jian, who inherited the throne, was lustful and promiscuous, and before his father was buried, he took all Liu Fei's concubines for himself. This is still trivial. After that, Liu Jian also staged a play "New Zhu'er Wen Jiang Ji", and hooked up with Liu Zhengchen, the sister who came to Ben's father's funeral and the daughter-in-law of Gai Marquis (Wudi Liu Che's uncle Wang Xin Shiye).

A few years later (121 BC), Liu An, the king of Huainan, rebelled, and Liu Jian not only did not report the news to his uncle Liu Che, but also rectified military affairs and raised the banner of the Son of Heaven used by his father, intending to compete with Liu An.

Needless to say, Huo Dexing did not shine on Liu Jian's head. After the incident, Liu Jian and Queen Chengguang committed suicide in fear of crime. The career earned by Liu Fei's hero was gently buried by unfilial piety.

Sixteen years after Liu Jian's death, Emperor Wu Liu Che prepared to join forces with Kun Mo, the king of Wusun in the Western Regions, to deal with the Xiongnu. Among the daughters of the clan family, he finally chose Liu Xijun, the daughter of Liu Jian and Queen Chengguang. He made his niece Xiaojun a princess and married Wusun in place of his daughter. Xiaojun married two kings in Wusun Kingdom, leaving behind a daughter named Shaofu and a sad poem that died early.

Liu Xijun is Liu Fei's granddaughter.

Of course, it was still when Emperor Wu first ascended the throne, Liu Che had no children, and Liu Fei's son Liu Jian and daughter Liu Zhengjun were still ignorant children. Neither brother could have predicted their future fate and entanglements.

On the day when the brothers met to hunt, Liu Fei came to the roadside early in the morning to wait.

Although Liu Che is a younger brother, after all, as an emperor, the procedure for going out is very complicated. Before setting out, he first sent Han Yan as a pioneer. (Needless to say, Han Yan got mixed up with the little emperor again the night before)

Liu Fei saw an emperor-level car running wildly in front from a distance, followed by hundreds of cavalry, not only majestic, but also directly from the emperor's palace - not to mention Liu Fei, everyone would think that of course it was the emperor himself.

So Liu Fei quickly hid his attendant ceremonial guard, and prostrated himself on the side of the road to bow down.

Who knew that the "emperor's car" actually sped by, avoiding the person in the prince's dress on the side of the road, let alone returning the salute.

Liu Fei was surprised, he couldn't understand why his younger brother was so arrogant, and he thought that he had made some mistake, so he was nervous. Looking up and looking carefully, he realized that the one who was swaggering in the emperor's deputy car and disdaining himself was just an ordinary minister Han Yan.

This made Liu Fei dizzy, and he stopped hunting, turned his head and went straight to the palace of the Empress Dowager Wang Jiao, and when he saw his mother, he cried and said, "What is the meaning of a prince like me?" It's better to return the throne to the imperial court and come back as a close guard, and you can still have Han Yan's majesty! ”

When Wang Jiao saw Liu Fei crying like this, she couldn't help but be angry: No matter what, Liu Fei is also her son, she is Liu Fei's mother, how can she let her son be bullied? She couldn't wait to immediately chop Han Yan to Liu Fei to vent her anger.

Although Wang Jiao, who did not want to cause a brotherly estrangement due to Liu Che's intervention, failed to kill Han Yan this time, Han Yan had already greatly offended Wang Jiao. This Empress Dowager's killing intent towards Han Yan has been deeply planted since then.

  21. The privacy of the Queen Mother wore a gang

Han Yan also knew that she had offended the Empress Dowager and wanted to make amends. It is a pity that the method he made up for was too hasty, but it further strengthened the idea that the Empress Dowager would kill him quickly.

As a gentleman who likes to appear everywhere, Han Yan is very good at folk lackey cockfighting, so she knows a lot of folk gossip.

In these grapevines, it includes the content that Wang Jiao once married and had a daughter before entering the palace.

Han Yan believes that this news can be put to good use, and if the Queen Mother's mother and daughter are reunited, maybe she can open up to herself. So he explained this matter to Liu Che in detail.

Emperor Wu did not feel that there was anything unsightly about his mother's marriage history, and when he heard this, he was overjoyed, and personally drove to the small market in Changling to greet his half-sister.

Jin Yu had already married and had children at this time, and although his family was prosperous, he never knew that his biological mother would be the empress dowager and his half-brother would be a grand son. In the face of this magnificent convoy falling from the sky, he panicked, thinking that it was a vain disaster to find him, frightened and hidden, and finally was found by the guards from under the bed.

In front of the man in Chinese clothes (emperor?) When he salutes himself with tears in his eyes, and refers to him as "big sister", Jin Gu must be in a dream.

Liu Che brought Jin Customs all the way into the Changle Palace, where Wang Jiao lived, and told his mother with joy: "I brought back the eldest sister of the Jin family!" ”

It's really thunderous. At this time, Wang Jiao's age was already old, and the status of the Empress Dowager had been established, and she would always think about the daughter she abandoned back then. But this is not a glorious thing after all, so she never mentioned it. I thought that I would stop there, but I never expected that the eldest daughter would appear in front of him, and the one who brought her here was the emperor's son born to himself and his later husband.

The little baby back then is now a middle-aged woman, and Wang Jiao can't help but cry when she looks back at the past.

Seeing his mother and eldest sister crying together, Liu Che hurriedly came up to enliven the atmosphere, set up a banquet and toast, and gave his eldest sister tens of millions of money, 300 slaves, 100 acres of pastoral gardens, and the first mansion on the spot.

In the face of this flying wealth, Jin Customs was at a loss for a while, and Wang Jiao quickly thanked her son on behalf of Jin Custom.

Since then, the commoner woman Jin Gu has become a noblewoman, has her own Tang Muyi, and has the title of "Xiu Chengjun".

XXII. The Marriage Records of the Empress Dowager's Granddaughter

Probably to make up for the debt he owed in his heart for decades, Wang Jiao was particularly partial to Jin Customs and a pair of children of Jin Custom.

The son of Jin Secular is known as "Xiu Cheng Zizhong". This young man can be regarded as an authentic nouveau riche, and from a small person who is only a chatterbox, he suddenly jumped to the peak of the world, and ran amok in and out of Chang'an City. But with the preference of the Empress Dowager's grandmother, he has always been unharmed.

Jin custom's daughter named E, Wang Jiao not only loved her daughter, but also wanted to pave a bright road for her granddaughter, so she wanted her to marry the kings of the Liu family.

E's marriage can be described as twists and turns, and it is extremely bumpy. It was true that the Empress Dowager spent a lot of effort, and in the end it was still fruitless.

First of all, the Empress Dowager took a fancy to the young Qi king Liu Cichang. However, face matters, how can the Empress Dowager be relative? What's more, Liu Cichang had already married his uncle's daughter Ji Shi as queen, which was even more troublesome.

Sycophants are everywhere. Wang Jia had a eunuch who was good at shooting horses, who knew the Empress Dowager's mood very well and was very considerate, and took the initiative to ask for orders at this time, saying that he was willing to go to the State of Qi, and he would definitely be able to persuade the King of Qi to voluntarily write to the imperial court to marry Jin E.

Liu Cichang, the king of Qi, thought that his personal conditions were outstanding, and the heavy minister Lord Father Wei also took a fancy to him, so before the eunuch set off, the Lord Father also made a request to him: "After saying that Queen Qi's marriage is completed, please help me also greet King Qi: I also want to send my daughter to his harem as a concubine." ”

However, such good things of embracing left and right and kissing the Empress Dowager Chongchen were bad when they reached Empress Dowager Ji, the mother of Liu Cichang, the king of Qi.

Like the empress dowagers, who liked to interfere with their sons, this feudal empress dowager also dictated her son's official and private affairs. As soon as Liu Cichang took the throne, Empress Dowager Ji forced him to marry his niece as queen. It's a pity that Liu Cichang has no good feelings for this cousin, and he doesn't even want to touch her hair. Empress Dowager Ji had no choice: she couldn't go out in person and stick her old face into her son's palace, right?

So she came up with a "good idea" to take the eldest daughter who had married to the Weng clan back to the harem to manage her brother's living life - that is, keeping an eye on Liu Cichang and preventing him from getting close to other concubines, forcing him to go to Queen Ji.

But no one expected that after a long time, Liu Cichang actually developed feelings for his own sister, other concubines were certainly not close, and Queen Ji was even thrown by him out of cloud nine, and the two siblings actually fell in love like glue and pity.

The eunuch came to the State of Qi and relayed the good intentions of the Empress Dowager and the main father to the mother and son of the King of Qi. Liu Cichang, who knew that he was deeply in love and wanted to take the opportunity to save himself, was very willing to remarry his wife and take a concubine, but Empress Dowager Ji, who was kept in the dark and smug, was furious, thinking that the Empress Dowager was deliberately trying to tear down the old Ji family's platform, and scolded the eunuch on the spot: "King Qi married a woman from my Ji family as the queen, you poor ghost eunuch dares to come and destroy the good deeds of others?" What kind of thing is that master father, who dares to let his daughter be the prince's concubine?! ”

The eunuch was so angry that he was as angry as a pig's liver after receiving this fat training, and immediately rushed back to Chang'an and reported to Wang Jiao: "The King of Qi is very willing to marry the granddaughter of the Empress Dowager, but when I was in the Kingdom of Qi, I heard that the King of Qi was young and unruly and fornicated with his sister, I was afraid that he would end up in disgrace and die." “

When Wang Jiao heard this, she immediately dismissed her plan to let her marry the king of Qi, and Liu Cichang's sisters and brothers became even more notorious. ——I don't know how the self-clever, Empress Dowager Ji, should feel at this time?

Now Wang Jiao's eyes turned to the son of Liu An the Prince of Huainan, and soon she became the crown princess of Liu Qian, the crown prince of Huainan.

Here, one cannot help but solemnly consider the generational ethics of Wang Jia and even the entire Han Dynasty: Liu Annai the King of Huainan was Liu Che's uncle, and his sons Liu Qian and Liu Che were cousins. When she marries Liu Qian, she is married to her cousin. In addition, Liu Ying married his niece Zhang Yan for nearly a year; Later, there was another Cheng Emperor Liu Xiao who married his cousin Xu Shi as empress...

Alas, either siblings and brothers and sisters commit incest, or intergenerational marriages. It's really true...

Soon, the king of Huainan planned to rebel. When preparing for the uprising, he was afraid that his daughter-in-law Jin E would detect his secrets, and did not want to take the initiative to turn his face and offend the Empress Dowager, so he and his son came up with a bad trick: let him quarrel with the princess and refuse to eat in the same room for three months.

Then the father-in-law came out to be a peacemaker, caused a big attack on his son, and forced Liu Qian and Jin E to be locked up in the same room.

Who knows that another three months have passed, no matter how coquettish and foolish Jin E is, Liu Qian is stunned that he would rather be a monk than a wife's side—it's hard for him to survive, it seems that he really wants to be an emperor and wants to go crazy.

In this way, Jin E's patience has finally reached the limit, she is also the granddaughter of the grandmother of the empress dowager, if it were not for this man being her elder and husband, I am afraid that she would not even insist on the cold war in these months. Now seeing that this man does not go to the stage, he simply flicks his sleeves and leaves: there is no place for us here, there is a place for us! So she threw the door out and asked her father-in-law for divorce.

Liu An waited for this, secretly happy in his heart, pretending to sigh for a long time, sending the crown princess who took the initiative to ask for a divorce back to Chang'an City, and specially wrote to the emperor and empress dowager to apologize for his godson's lack of direction.

Since it was the girl in her own family who took the initiative to leave her husband, Wang Jiao and Liu Che had nothing to say.

The crown princess of the Feng Kingdom took the initiative to leave her husband, and returned home to marry again, hehe, the Han dynasty is very humane. Those black miasma three from the four virtues in the back really lived to see the ghost - did Wang Jiao end from the beginning? Does Liu Che dare to let his mother listen to him? He listened to his mother about the same.

Wang Jiao struggled with the marriage of her granddaughter, but she still failed to start and end well, so she had to admit that she had no luck as a matchmaker.

  23. Han Yan who died

When Wang Jiao is old, the feeling of protecting the calf is much stronger than when he was young, especially for the Jin family, the desire to atone for sins is more obvious, which is also a good thing.

So, can Han Yan, who has made meritorious efforts in helping Wang Jiao's mother and daughter reunite, be able to benefit from this mother-daughter relationship, and be impressed by Wang Jiao from then on, and wash away her previous suspicions?

It was absolutely impossible, but it made Han Yan add another crime in Wang Jiao's mind: This oil-headed smelly boy lost my old woman's face!

Speaking of it, I can only blame Han Yan, and the children don't know the depth of the world. He also didn't want to think: Who is Wang Jiao? When the Empress Dowager. If she wants to take her daughter back to the palace, she still has to wait until now?

From the great li, Wang Jia once married and gave birth, for Liu Qi, the emperor of the harem of three thousand, it should be in his heart, but the mother-in-law Empress Dowager Dou did not necessarily understand. Many royal relatives and state relatives are kept in the dark. Liu Che's imperial throne came from a strange background, and there were many people who were unconvinced by the princes of the Liu family and the princes of the Dou family; At this time, adding another matter of the Empress Dowager's marriage privacy is really chaotic, and it gives the guys who want to fight the idea of the throne another reason.

Wang Jiao's hatred for Han Yan can be imagined. However, she was known for her "humility" throughout her life, so she still held back, secretly waiting for the right opportunity to retaliate.

And Han Yan, who thought that he had made great achievements for the Empress Dowager, was removed from Liangzi, who had offended Liu Fei, the king of Jiangdu, and soon returned to his former state of doing whatever he wanted.

Since we have relaxed our vigilance, it is much easier for others to find faults. What's more, Han Yan is a handsome man, frequently entering and leaving the harem, and the maids in the palace who are easy to look at even a man are naturally attracted by him. Han Yan was not a gentleman who did not sit still, and he naturally smiled at the kindness of the girls. Emperor Wu didn't seem to have any opinion about his favored courtiers serving him in addition to serving him: maybe the two of them could exchange experiences with each other.

This matter was soon heard by Wang Jiao. Especially for Han Yan to be a son and a male pet, she is even more unforgivable: Emperor Wu does not have a son at this time, Yan knows if it is not because he is addicted to men?!

New hatred and old hatred broke out together, and this time Wang Jiao finally found a good opportunity to start. So she became furious, and sent someone to Han Mansion the day before to ask about the crime, forcing Han Yan to commit suicide on the charge of defiling the court.

When Emperor Wu Liu Che heard that his favored courtier would be questioned, he was so frightened that he rushed to his mother to intercede.

Needless to say, Wang Jiao will not be moved by her son's tears and snot - I am afraid that the more Liu Che begs for grief, the more determined Wang Jiao's heart to kill Han Yan will be.

So, Han Yan had to die.

  XXIV. End of life

After cleaning up her son, Wang Jiao's career as empress dowager was even smoother, and her family's control of the dynasty was smoother.

After being the empress dowager for fifteen years, on June noon in the third year of Yuan Shuo (126 BC), Wang Jiao died in Changle Palace at the age of about seventy.

According to the state system, she was finally buried in Yangling. There, her second husband, Liu Qi, had been waiting for her for fifteen years. ——If according to the current marriage system, Liu Qi was also a divorced man when he officially married her, they can be regarded as a real remarried couple.

Wang Jiao is about the first remarried empress and empress dowager clearly recorded in the history books. (Of course, she's not the only one)

There is no bitterness, only more bitterness - the four empresses of Emperor Wudi of Han

Emperor Wudi of Han, milk name 彘, great name Liu Che, character tong. He was the seventh emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, and in Chinese history he was famous for his martial arts and literary talents. However, in contrast to his proud deeds, it was that almost all of his military generals rarely ended well. And this seems to be the fate of the Han Wu dynasty, because in his harem, the woman who became his wife also did not have a good result - after the death of Emperor Wudi of Han, there were a total of four empresses, in order: Chen Jiao, the mother of the deposed empress, Wei Zifu, the mother of the crown prince, Lady Li, the empress of Xiaowu, and the mother of Emperor Zhao, Zhao Hookyi. Counting with your fingers, it is a blessing for the young man to die early.

First, the origin of the Son of Heaven

On the seventh day of the seventh month of the first year of Emperor Hanjing (156 BC), in the Qilan Hall of Weiyang Palace in Chang'an, Wang Jiao, the concubine of Emperor Liu Qi of Hanjing, gave birth to a son for him. This son is Wang Jiao's only boy, but he ranks ninth among his brothers. However, although he was at the bottom of the ranking, his birth was quite mythical - it is said that when Wang Jiao was pregnant, she had a dream of swallowing the sun, which surprised Liu Qi and thought it was an extremely auspicious omen, indicating that he would not only give birth to a son, but also give birth to an extraordinary son.

This son was indeed extraordinary, and just halfway through his pregnancy, his grandfather Emperor Wen died, so when he was born, he became Liu Qi's first son after becoming emperor. ——This was of course the icing on the cake for Liu Qi, who soon promoted Wang Jiao to "beauty" and became a member of the first-class title in the harem at that time, second only to the empress, ranking as Marquis of Lie, Lu 2,000 shi.

Of course, at this time, no one would know that this ninth prince of Wang Meiren would be able to ascend the throne of the Great Han Emperor more than ten years later. Because not only is he at the bottom of the rankings, but his mother's background is not smart.

——The beauty Wang Jiao is a native of Huali, Shaanxi, she has long been married in the people, and gave birth to a daughter Jin Gu with her husband Jin Wang Sun. At this time, Liu Qi, who was the prince at the time, was in the folk beauty pageant, and Wang Jiao abandoned her husband and daughter to apply for the conscription under the support of her mother, and was selected and became Liu Qi's concubine. However, after she entered the imperial womb, she gave birth to three daughters in a row without sons, and in order to compete for favors and leave a good reputation for herself in the eyes of her husband, she recommended her sister Wang Xiji to Liu Qi to be beautiful. After Wang Xijian entered the palace, he gave birth to four sons to Liu Qi in a row, and although he died long before Liu Qi became emperor, the fertility achievements of the Wang sisters and Wang Jiao's "virtuous and not jealous" were enough to make Liu Qinian think in his heart.

In the summer of Liu Che's fourth year (152 AD), Emperor Jing Liu Qi made his eldest son Liu Rong crown prince, and Liu Che the Prince of Jiaodong. The following year, Liu Qi abolished his wife Xiao Bo, and the empress of the Han Dynasty was vacant. But according to common sense, the successor should undoubtedly be Li Ji, the biological mother of Prince Liu Rong. ——In short, no one thinks that there is a second woman who has this qualification.

However, there are no absolutes, and things happen in the most unlikely circumstances.

The fundamental reason for the change of everything was the first marriage of the little prince Liu Che. The conclusion of this marriage changed the position of the queen and the position of the prince. ——The male protagonist of this marriage, needless to say, is the future Emperor Wudi of Han and the current little prince Liu Che; And the heroine of this marriage is the famous Empress Chen Jiao in Chinese history.

Second, why would a grand prince and a lady violate the etiquette system and be arranged for the marriage of a big wife and a small husband?

Chen Jiao came from a noble background. Her mother was Liu Yan, the eldest sister of Emperor Jingdi of Han, and her father was Chen Wu, Marquis of Tangyi. The title of Marquis of Tangyi originated from Chen Ying, the general of Liu Bang, the ancestor of the Han Dynasty, and Chen Wu was the grandson of Chen Ying. Therefore, she and Liu Che are middle cousins.

Chen Jiao is Liu Che's cousin, and she is not only one or two years older. In China, there has always been a tradition of joint marriage in which men are better than women. (The Book of Rites: Men marry at thirty, women at twenty; Yue Wang Gou ordered the kingdom: men marry twenty, women seventeen; "Book of the Later Han": Male years 20 to 50, female years 15 to 40, all matched by age) - in short, it is always best for the man to be slightly older than the woman, and in some places in the later life, marrying the eldest daughter-in-law is actually just to find strong labor for the in-laws, not really considering both men and women.

Of course, people are not ruthless, and in fact, because of love, women should be older and men less. However, the problem is that Liu Che and Chen Jiao are arranged marriages, and the question arises: Why would the grand prince and the grand lady violate the etiquette system and be arranged for the marriage of a big wife and a small husband?

In fact, in the initial thoughts of Princess Tao Chang, Chen Jiao's mother, the most favorite son-in-law of the Dragon Express was not Liu Che, a young nephew who was not yet familiar with world affairs, but Liu Rong, the eldest nephew, the prince, a handsome young man with great spirits.

However, Liu Rong has a reckless mother Li Ji with an unexpected personality, and her existence completely subverts everything.

Princess Liu Yan, as the biological daughter of Empress Dowager Dou and sister of Emperor Jing Liu Qi, was naturally one of the most influential women in the Han Dynasty at that time. And in the harem of Emperor Jing Liu Qi, countless palace beauties hope that they can be favored by the emperor, so as to break away from the identity of ordinary palace maids and become one of the concubines. Therefore, they all thought of Princess Guantao Chang and gave her monetary gifts, hoping that she could recommend herself in front of the emperor. And Princess Guantao Chang, as the emperor's sister, whether out of family affection or out of interest, she is very happy to play this role of killing three birds with one stone - not only to please the emperor's brother, the favored concubine in the harem and owe her own favor, and she really earned a lot of real money.

However, the "three-in-one plan" of Princess Guantao Chang could not pass it in any way when it came to Li Ji.

Li Ji looks outstanding, and gave birth to three sons for Emperor Jing in a row, naturally she is one of the most favored in Emperor Jing's harem, plus her eldest son Liu Rong was crowned prince, she herself is only one step away from the queen's throne, and the limelight in the harem is even more unique. However, as the emperor's woman, she had an Achilles heel: jealousy, and unabashed jealousy. She hated the behavior of Princess Tao Chang and the "fox spirits", and she didn't know how many times she had cursed behind her back.

Princess Guantao is naturally not a fool, as a woman, she certainly knows that Li Ji is dissatisfied with herself. But after all, she is Empress Dowager Dou's precious daughter, and her mother and brother are obedient to herself, and she doesn't take Li Ji's resentment seriously in her heart. But now that Li Ji's son has become the prince, Princess Guantao Chang has also calculated it. She plans to marry her precious daughter Chen Jiao to Liu Rong as the crown prince, so that she can not only turn enemies into friends and relatives with the future empress, but also make her daughter the future mother of the Han Kingdom, and her own glory and wealth will be extremely unbreakable.

If Li Ji had one-tenth of Wang Ji's brain, she should have long lived the idea of Princess Guantao Chang - because this marriage can make her form a deeper relationship with Empress Dowager Dou, Emperor Jing, Princess Chang, King Xiao of Liang and others, not only can she smoothly ascend to the position of empress, but also make the position of empress firm and unswerving, and she will not become the second Empress Xiaobo.

It's a pity that Li Ji doesn't have this brain, and she can't get out of the sky-high vinegar with all her thoughts. In the face of Princess Guantao's provocation, her reaction was - this Liu Yan also knows that she is coming to please me now? Well, after I keep the empty room a lot, I still have the face to borrow my son's light, and let the hairy girl she gave birth to be the crown princess and the queen? There are no doors! My chance to settle the ledger with her has finally come!

Therefore, she refused the request of Princess Guantao to propose a kiss, and also put on a posture of "quasi-queen", and mocked Princess Guantao Chang fiercely, which can be regarded as a good breath of evil.

Although Li Jiyu's impatient speech was painful for a while, it opened the prelude to death for herself, her son, and her own family.

Princess Guantao has grown so big, and she has never touched such a nose full of ash, not to mention that the other party is actually a little emperor concubine, and even her own sister-in-law has not yet become a woman from a small family.

However, Princess Guantao Chang's upside down was something she did in private, so although she was angry, she couldn't tell her mother and brother. ——But anger is qi, always find a place to vent, and in Emperor Jing's harem, the best at catering to Princess Tao Chang is Wang Jiao, the mother of Liu Che, the king of Jiaodong. So, she told Wang Meiren about this matter.

Wang Jiao listened to Princess Guantao's grumbling words, and naturally flattered in every way: "Gillian is really a famous person, she loves people like a flower, Li Ji really has no vision, you go to kiss her and refuse?" If I were her, I wouldn't have to wait for the princess sister to speak, and it would only make sense that I would go to you early to ask for a kiss." ”

Obedient and obedient, can people like Princess Guantao not understand Wang Meiren's voiceover? She thought about it, the east is not bright and the west is bright, anyway, my daughter can't marry an ordinary courtier, Li Ji, this woman doesn't know how to lift, Wang Meiren is so knowledgeable and knowledgeable, it's better to give her daughter to her son!

So, Princess Guantao immediately replied: "Actually, what is good about that kid Liu Rong, isn't it just an extra prince title!" If you really want to be smart and clever, where can you compare to the king of Jiaodong! Since you can see my Gillian, why don't I promise her to King Jiaodong!" ”

When Wang Jiao heard it, where could this joy still be said! Immediately hurriedly accepted, and a string of sweet words was added, which coaxed Princess Guantao's heart to bloom. Just when Princess Guantao was faintly flattered, Wang Jiao suddenly sighed: "Oh, it's a pity that we are just a little prince, and I'm just a small beauty, I can't give the eldest princess you a long face, in the future, Li Ji heard that we have become a family, won't she laugh at you again!" ”

Wang Jiao's rotten medicine was very homely, and the pavilion Tao Chang Princess exploded on the spot when she heard it, and realized that if "Queen Li" and "Empress Li" really appeared, she would not have good fruit to eat. The more she thought about it, the more afraid she became, the more angry she became, and said angrily: "Just because she is Li Ji, she also wants to be the empress and the empress dowager do whatever she wants?" I want her to know what will happen to me if I offend! ”

Princess Guantao said to do it, and from then on, as long as she saw Emperor Jing, she kept revealing Li Ji's short and recommended new beauties in front of her brother, and under her role, these beauties were far more favored than Li Ji for a while (this made Li Ji angry and benefited the public). Faced with such a situation, Li Ji, who thought that she should be the head of the harem, became even more resentful, and the vinegar became more and more turbulent, and made many out-of-control and stupid moves.

This is what Guantao is waiting for. She caught every defect in Li Ji and reported to Emperor Jing every day. Especially for Li Ji spitting on the pet concubines and sending attendants to curse them.

Emperor Jing had already been fascinated by many fresh beauties at this time, how could he tolerate the old and decaying Li Ji cursing his new favorite! So he also secretly hated Li Ji, but because Li Ji was the mother of the prince, he still wanted to endure for a while and then watch the aftereffects.

Third, the derivative of the marriage: the prince changed people

However, Li Ji did not know that "one day in the mountains, the world has been for a thousand years". She still considers herself different.

Once, Emperor Jing fell ill and lingered repeatedly. Since most of the emperors of the Western Han Dynasty before him did not have a high lifespan, he couldn't help but feel sentimental, thinking that if he couldn't afford it, who should he rely on for his many sons and daughters! Since the prince was Li Ji's son Liu Rong, he thought about it and still opened his mouth to Li Ji: "You see, although the children in this palace are all princes and princesses, they are actually all young sons and weak daughters. If my father has a third elder and two short, our son succeeds to the throne, and you become the queen mother, you must take good care of these young children on my behalf. ”

As the saying goes, "If a person dies, his words are good", Emperor Jing mistakenly believed that his life was not long in coming, and this statement was still very good. Don't say that being in the palace, even if you are an ordinary wife, when the husband comes to this part, he should say two good words by the way, and it is best to comfort her husband again: "Don't say that when you are in charge, you are just a minor illness, how can you get to that step... I don't want to be the Queen Mother, as long as you live a long life. ”...... I really listened harshly, and I didn't want to agree, so I just lowered my head and took a handkerchief to cover my eyes and pretend to wipe my tears.

But Kurihime no, no matter how good the words enter her brain from her ears, it will change its taste - how, this unconscionable one, until she is going to die, still remembering those little goblins and their little mongrels vigorously? She immediately elongated her face unequivocally, resolutely refusing to agree, and the noble head just refused to touch that slightly, and cursed hatefully.

When Emperor Jing saw her like this, the nest fire in his heart was mentioned. But despite this, he still did not have a seizure.

Princess Guantao felt that the fire had arrived, so she changed "Rijin Liji Yishan" to "Rijin son-in-law Yishan", and kept saying good things about Liu Che, the king of Jiaodong, in front of Emperor Jing, and praised him as unparalleled in the sky, and his mother was even more virtuous. The more Emperor Jing listened, the more reasonable it became, and then recalled Wang Meiren's original dream of swallowing the sun, and felt that Li Ji Liu Rong was not worth entrusting to the world's major affairs, and it was only right that such heavy responsibilities should be borne by Wang Jiao's mother and son.

However, the abolition of the crown prince was a major event in the world after all, and Emperor Jing was still undecided for a while.

Wang Jiao sensed her husband's thoughts and decided to help him make a decision. She secretly sent people to "edict" the ministers, asking them to care about the major affairs of the emperor in the country, and as soon as possible, she asked the crown prince's mother to be the empress.

Therefore, the official in charge of etiquette put on the condom ignorantly. Above the imperial meeting, he said to Emperor Jing in public: "As the saying goes, 'the son is precious to the mother, and the mother is precious to the son', but now the prince has been decided, but his mother has not yet been conferred, it is appropriate to be established as an empress, and the mother is in the world." ”

This is really which pot does not mention which pot, Emperor Jing was furious on the spot: "This is my family matter, can you take care of it!" "On the spot, he beat the hapless official into prison, and soon cut off his head. He believed that this must have been done by Li Ji or the crown prince Liu Rong in collusion with the courtiers, so he took advantage of the situation to deal with the crown prince Liu Rong and depose him as the king of Linjiang.

At this time, Li Ji had already become sick because of her husband's indifference and was bedridden. The news of her son's deposition was undoubtedly a vicious stimulus, and she vomited blood to her death after struggling to unleash a series of curses.

Emperor Jing decided to make a new prince. Who to choose? Naturally, it was the Ninth Prince who was praised by Princess Guantao. But his ranking is too far behind, and the "standing chief" can't take his turn. Therefore, Emperor Jing thought of "Liyan".

Just three months after Liu Rong's deposition, on April 150 BC, Emperor Jing installed Wang Jiao as his second and last empress. Twelve days later, on Ding Cheng Day, Empress Wang's seven-year-old son Liu Che became crown prince.

This is not only a victory for Wang Jiao, but also a victory for Princess Guantao. Now full of ambition, she is about to take the next step: let her brother approve of her daughter Chen Jiao as the crown prince.

But everyone knows that Chen Jiao is the cousin of the little prince Liu Che, and judging from her age, she can't be regarded as the most suitable object. Sure enough, as soon as Princess Guantao's "good intentions" showed a little wind, Emperor Jing shook his head repeatedly: "Che'er is only seven years old, and it's too early to talk about marriage now, not to mention Chen Jiao's age, how can she be so matched!" ”

Emperor Jing's position made both Princess Guantao and Wang Jiao very worried. Princess Guantao was naturally unwilling to marry someone else, and Wang Jiao did not dare to go against her aunt's wishes after learning the fate of Li Ji's mother and son.

So, after the mothers tossed enough, the little protagonists Liu Che and Chen Jiao finally sounded the gong.

  4. The first marriage of the younger husband and the eldest wife

On an auspicious day, Princess Guantao brought her baby daughter Chen Jiao into the queen's palace to play with her cousin Liu Che, and seeing Liu Che sticking behind her cousin like cowhide candy, Princess Guantao smiled and asked her nephew between children's games: "Do you want to marry a beautiful daughter-in-law?" ”

I don't know if Liu Che clearly understands what a "daughter-in-law" is, in short, he nodded repeatedly.

Princess Guantao pointed out all the palace maids in the queen's palace to Liu Che one by one, and asked who he liked to be his daughter-in-law? As a result, Liu Che denied all the palace maids and shook his head repeatedly.

However, when Princess Guantao's hand finally pointed to Chen Jiao, Liu Che suddenly smiled and clapped his hands repeatedly, and said loudly: "If Gillian is a woman, I am willing to build a golden palace for her to live in." ”

Princess Guantao was overwhelmed and immediately got up to go to the emperor's brother and tell him about this scene. Emperor Jing naturally refused to believe it, so the eldest princess pulled Emperor Jing over without saying anything and asked him to ask his son personally.

Liu Che really lived up to the high expectations of Empress Wang and Princess Guantao Chang, and unambiguously repeated what Fang Cai had said.

After hearing this, Emperor Jing couldn't help but be amazed, feeling that such a young child had made such a great wish, and this marriage must be destined by providence. So the marriage was agreed to on the spot.

Because of this beautiful scene, Liu Che had his first wife in this life, Chen Jiao, and at the same time, added a famous allusion to China as "Golden House Zangjiao".

It is difficult for us to confirm when Chen Jiao officially married Liu Che as crown princess, only that before Liu Che ascended the throne as emperor at the age of sixteen, she had already married and been a crown princess for several years. ——This, of course, also reflects the situation that the future queen is several years older than her husband.

Liu Che can get the position of emperor, it can be said that it is from the "divine pen" of his mother-in-law, Princess Tao Chang, not to mention that his grandmother Empress Dowager Dou is still alive, so it goes without saying that he obeyed his wife and cousin Chen Jiao, who first ascended the throne.

Of course, Chen Jiao understands her strong background, and when her husband was a child, he made a promise to his cousin as a cousin, not to mention that they were indeed a husband and wife since childhood, childhood sweethearts, so in her opinion, Liu Che would never dare to do anything against her will. In front of her little husband, she was extremely angry.

Chen Jiao's attitude towards her husband should largely come from the words and deeds of her mother, Princess Guantao.

Liu Yan's mind for half of her life has been spent on stirring up the right and wrong of her younger brother Jingdi's harem, and she is simply too aware of the fact that the emperor sees different thoughts, the concubines are full of tricks, and the status of the empress is actually very easy to shake. Needless to say, she must have instilled this purpose in her daughter more than once: that is, the women in the harem were undesirable goblins, and they must not be given any chance to get close to the emperor.

Chen Jiao's talk about her mother's experience is of course regarded as a wise saying, and she has turned Liu Che's imperial womb and imperial palace into a testing ground for the famous quote of Princess Guantao.

It should be said that Chen Jiao was quite successful in the early days, for a long time, she was a veritable empress, and Liu Che had almost no chance to get close to other palace people except her. Chen Jiao was not only exclusively favored, but also pampered and arrogant, enjoying extremely luxurious treatment, and managed Liu Che strictly. Since Empress Dowager Dou is still alive, and Princess Guantao Chang is also good at dancing, Liu Che, as an emperor who has not yet been pro-government, also has to cooperate with his wife's style, and never dares to openly hook up with beautiful women in the palace.

However, people are not as good as heavenly calculations, I don't know why, Chen Jiao and Liu Che have been married for many years, and although they monopolize their husbands, they have never been pregnant. Princess Guantao naturally resolutely refused to admit that her daughter would be sterile, and Empress Dowager Dou was already indignant because Liu Che dared to change the national policy to respect Confucianism, and naturally fell to the side of Liu Yan and Chen Jiao, then the conclusion came out - the empress was sterile for many years, and there were no concubines in the harem, so the problem must be the emperor.

This conclusion really made Liu Che unbearable, and it was with this conclusion that Empress Dowager Dou wanted to establish another crown prince among the princes of the clan in the name of "the emperor had no son". What was even more outrageous was that the prince selected by the Liu family of the Dou family turned out to be Liu Che's uncle Liu An the King of Huainan, an old guy with a big beard, and Liu Che was only eighteen years old this year. This not only clearly wants to abolish the emperor and establish a new monarch, but also directly links Liu Che's childlessness and daughterlessness to "infertility", and Liu Che is not only facing a crisis of life and death, but also extremely humiliating.

Fortunately, Chen Jiao's mother, Princess Guantao Chang, was not a stupid person, and she knew very well what kind of situation her daughter and herself might face if her nephew became a deposed emperor. Therefore, she mobilized all her strength, and she did her best to coax her mother, Empress Dowager Dou. After some effort, the crisis that was already on the sword was finally resolved by her.

However, after this battle, "childless" and "childless" have become a practical problem that Liu Che and Chen Jiao have to face. Chen Jiao naturally wanted to control her husband more tightly and keep all fertility opportunities to herself; Liu Che, on the other hand, was thinking about the flowers and intestines in his head, not only because he suspected that Chen Jiao was sterile, but more importantly, his lecherous heart had begun to move, and he planned to start another stove.

Fifth, the slave girl who made the Son of Heaven fall in love at first sight

As the saying goes, "Talented people come out of the rivers and mountains". After Princess Guantao recommended beautiful women to her younger brother to consolidate her status, Liu Che's sister Princess Pingyang also learned the same and was making the same plan. What's more, her reason for recommending beautiful women was much more "upright" than her aunt: the emperor had no children, and none of his current concubines were present.

Princess Pingyang's husband was Cao Shou, the great-grandson of Cao Shen in the early Han dynasty, and was given the title Marquis of Pingyang. Because her sister-in-law Chen Jiao was jealous, Princess Pingyang was inconvenient to copy her aunt's old method to look for beautiful women in the harem, she could only search in her husband's fief, because her brother was a dignified emperor, and she chose women from good families. Then train at home, hoping to get the right opportunity to send to my brother.

  And this opportunity finally came.

On the third day of the third month of the third month of the second year of Jianyuan (139 BC), Liu Che left the palace according to the custom and went to the bank of Weishui to hold the Spring Festival of "Xiuyu". After completing his routine, he made a detour to Pingyang Houfu on his way back to Beijing to visit his sister.

Princess Pingyang and his wife were naturally overjoyed, prepared a sumptuous banquet, and summoned more than ten beauties they had carefully trained to sing and dance. These women not only followed the orders of their masters, but they also looked forward to being able to ascend to heaven in one step, and all of them did everything they could.

Things do not turn out the way you want. Although Liu Che was only nineteen years old, he had long been tired of seeing such unconcealed hot and spicy methods of women, so he almost immediately lost his appetite, not only unmoved by these beauties prepared by his sister, but also full of anger.

Princess Pingyang saw this scene, and she was secretly anxious, and she couldn't care so much, so she had to let her domestic maid appear and try.

And things really turned around, as soon as this group of slaves from humble backgrounds entered the door, Liu Che had already stared at the long-haired and shiny Wei Zifu from a distance, and when Wei Zifu's singing voice was like a pleasant song, his eyes lit up after a few glasses of wine.

Princess Pingyang saw her brother's thoughts, and when Liu Che got up and said that she was going to the bathroom, she immediately understood and sent Wei Zifu to take care of it. ——The two went for a long time, and when Liu Che returned to his seat again, he swept away the obscurity when he was entangled by the women, and became full of joy, and also expressed his deep gratitude for his sister's hospitality, and the guy gave Princess Pingyang a thousand pounds of gold.

Princess Pingyang naturally knew why this thousand catties of gold were dropped out of thin air, and she immediately proposed to send Wei Zifu to the palace to serve the emperor. Liu Che immediately "smiled" at the gift and took Wei Zifu into his car.

When Wei Zifu stood by the car and was panicking, Princess Pingyang stroked her back and encouraged: "Go quickly!" When you go to the palace, no matter what happens, you must eat well and nourish your body. One day I will be rich, I hope you don't forget me. ”

  6. The queen in jealousy

However, Wei Zifu, who was full of expectations, just entered the palace gate when he met the angry Empress Chen Jiao. Chen Jiao had already received the grapevine news from the emperor's favored singer. Her husband dared to make trouble without her eyelids had already made her angry, and the fact that the new love rival was a slave made Chen Jiao even more unbearable. Liu Che was just a momentary novelty to Wei Zifu, let alone offending her cousin and aunt, so he very happily left Wei Zifu in the group of palace maids and left it behind.

This loss was more than a year, and Wei Zifu couldn't even see Liu Che's face. And we can imagine that Princess Pingyang will never be the only one who gave Liu Che a gift from a woman. There are countless other women like Wei Zifu who were sent to the palace as gifts by their masters because of Liu Che's whim. When Wei Zifu understood her situation, she fell from a beautiful dream of heaven into an ice puddle, more than four hundred days and nights, enough for her to turn hope into despair.

Finally, the palace had to be disbanded due to the overcrowding of palace ladies. Wei Zifu, who was already completely desperate, also joined the crowd applying to leave the palace with tears in his eyes.

Originally, it was enough to let the empress or the head of the eunuch handle such a trivial matter as dismissing the palace maid, but Liu Che was probably afraid that Chen Jiao and her cronies would take the opportunity to drive the beautiful woman away, so he decided to go out himself.

And the opportunity came to Wei Zifu for the second time. When Liu Che saw Wei Zifu with rain, he somehow immediately recalled the first encounter and felt pity for her. In order to avoid being detected by Empress Chen Jiao again, Liu Che placed Wei Zifu in Shanglinyuan and often went to visit.

And this time the revival of old feelings brought Liu Che a real "unexpected surprise": Wei Zifu was pregnant immediately. This was too long for Liu Che, and Wei Zifu suddenly became a living treasure in his eyes, and his value doubled.

Liu Che, who is eager for his son, and Liu Che, who carries the black pot of "difficult to give birth", naturally can't wait to publicize the fact that he finally made a woman pregnant. ——The result of this publicity is naturally the east window incident of him stealing behind his wife's back.

When Empress Chen Jiao learned the news, she knew that she had been deceived, and she could not accept such a thunderbolt-like stimulation on a sunny day no matter what, and immediately cried and made a fuss, scolding Liu Che for deceiving herself, and what was even more excessive was that he was actually willing to be seduced by a pariah slave and was willing to fall, which was simply humiliating to the extreme.

Liu Che's thoughts at this time had long been on Gillian's body. Youdao is "transported to copper and iron to produce light, transported to gold and dust", now in his eyes, Chen Jiao is no longer the first most important person, in the past her arrogance can get his laughter and even soothed, but now how to see how annoying. Not only did he not whisper to his cousin, but he scolded angrily: "You can't even give birth to a child for so many years, and you still have the face to accuse others?" Who is the shame? After scolding, Liu Che turned around and left, not even bothering to look at Chen Jiao.

Liu Che's reaction was surprised by Chen Jiao, and it made her even more embarrassed. She never expected that her little husband would actually put on such a look for himself - that was equivalent to saying that Liu Che was no longer just a momentary greed for Wei Zifu, but an empathetic love. In front of many palace eunuchs, Chen Jiao felt that she had lost face, and she couldn't accept that her husband had really changed his heart, and she simply didn't want to live.

Therefore, Chen Jiao began to change her methods to seek death. But each time he was stopped by the highly alert attendants. She couldn't die.

When the initial great tragedy and hatred passed, Chen Jiao gradually accepted the existence of Wei Zifu. However, what disheartened her was that after learning the news of her wife's several unsuccessful attempts to find death, Liu Che not only did not make up for anything, but thought that she was pretending to make trouble for herself, and became even more angry and corrupt.

This is the end of the matter, what else is there to say? Chen Jiao was so miserable that she could only cry and go to her mother, Princess Tao, to complain.

  7. The rise of the Wei family

When Princess Guantao learned of the cause and effect of the matter, she was of course extremely angry at her son-in-law's act of daring to report Euntu's bad heart. But now Liu Che is no longer the nephew who asked for fruit to eat, he is now the emperor, not to mention that he also has the power of three thousand beautiful people. Princess Guantao wants to attack the fox spirit who seduces her nephew.

However, since Chen Jiao came out of the palace to file a complaint, Liu Che has been vigilant and moved Wei Zifu to the side of his palace, not only protecting her at any time, but also increasing his relationship with her.

Princess Guantao then decided to attack Wei Zifu's family instead.

Wei Zifu's mother was Wei Concubine, a slave girl in Princess Pingyang's mansion, and no one knew who Wei Concubine's husband was, only that many of the children she gave birth to were surnamed Wei with her. Wei Zifu's older brother is named Wei Changzi (字長君), the eldest sister is named Wei Jun and Xiao, the second sister is named Wei Shaoer, and his younger brothers Wei Bu and Wei Guang. In addition, there is a younger brother named Wei Qing - he was born to Wei Ji and Zheng Ji, the official of Pingyang Hou Fengyi, and the only person among Wei Lady's children who determined the biological father - in some history books, Wei Concubine is called "Hou Concubine", if it is so viewed, Wei Huang's children may be several children born to Pingyang Hou and Wei surnamed maidservants, but because they did not get Lady Hou's approval, both mother and son were forced into slavery. If this is the case, this "Marquis of Pingyang" is unlikely to be Cao Shou, the husband of Princess Pingyang, but may be the third Marquis of Pingyang, Cao Shou's father.

Because he was an illegitimate son among illegitimate children, Wei Qing was sent by his mother to his biological father Zheng Ji to raise him. However, Mrs. Zheng could not tolerate the results of her husband's cheating, and forced Wei Qing to herd sheep and serve as a servant for her half-brothers. Wei Qing finally couldn't stand it and found an opportunity to flee back to Pingyang Mansion to join his mother. At this time, in the Pingyang Hou Mansion, Princess Pingyang was already in charge. She saw that Wei Qing looked like a talent, so she asked him to be an escort slave in her travel ceremonial guard. Later, he was sent to Jianzhang Palace in Shanglinyuan to serve as a soldier.

And the first thing that Princess Guantao set her eyes on was Wei Qing. She sent her henchmen to quickly arrest the defenseless Wei Qing, intending to stab him in two.

However, Wei Qing made many friends when he was a riding slave, especially his colleague Gongsun Ao. When Gongsun Ao learned that his friend had been kidnapped by Princess Guantao, he immediately led his friends to fight to the death to rob the prison, and rescued Wei Qing in the nick of time.

Wei Qing's thrilling encounter made Wei Zifu extremely terrified, and even made Liu Che, who was in a hot spirit, angry. He immediately decided to officially make Wei Zifu "Madame". At the same time, Wei Changjun and Wei Qing were promoted to squires (Wei Qing was also the "Jianzhang Superintendent", and soon he was promoted to Daizhong Daifu), and Wei Bu Weiguang was also rewarded worth thousands of gold in a few days. As for Wei Zifu's two sisters, they were also taken care of: Wei Junzi gave marriage to Gongsun He (Gongsun He's official promoted to imperial servant); Wei Shaoer originally had an affair with Huo Zhongzi, a family member of Pingyang Mansion, but after giving birth to a son, Huo Qubing, the two broke up, and Wei Shaoer found a second spring, that is, Chen Zhang, the great-grandson of Chen Ping, a famous minister in the early Han Dynasty. When Emperor Wudi of Han heard this, he ordered Chen Palm to marry Wei Shao'er and promoted Chen Palm to Zhan Shi.

This series of dazzling rewards could not have clearly expressed Emperor Hanwu's determination to favor Wei Zifu, and it made Chen Jiao die in anger.

  VIII. A scourge of witchcraft

Princess Guantao was quite dissatisfied with her nephew's behavior of demonstrating to her daughter with such an open fire, but in view of the lesson of the last time she had killed Wei Qing and helped a lot, she did not dare to act rashly. What's more, concubines are also stipulated by the system, and it is not good for her mother Empress Dowager Dou and sister-in-law Empress Dowager Wang to nag, but that belly anger always has to find a place to spread, thinking that the rank of promotion of Wei Zifu's family is Princess Pingyang, she can't help but complain to her niece several times: "If Liu Che hadn't married my daughter Gillian, I would have helped in this relationship, would this emperor have his turn to do it?" Now that he has secured the throne, he is cold to my daughter, what a forgetting of his roots! ”

Princess Pingyang listened to her aunt's complaints and defended: "The emperor did not abandon Gillian coldly, but only because she did not give birth, he turned to other women." ”

Princess Guantao listened to her niece's words, and thought that there was no other way, but to grasp this straw and work hard in terms of her daughter's fertility. Since then, Princess Guantao has sought medical treatment everywhere and rewarded him heavily, spending as much as 90 million money on the doctor. However, I don't know whether it was the mediocre doctor's medical skills, or Liu Che had rarely visited the queen's palace, in short, it failed to make Empress Chen Jiao conceive a child.

And at the same time that Chen Jiao's hopes of pregnancy were disappointed again and again, Wei Zifu kept giving birth to children for Liu Che, and gave birth to three daughters before and after: Princess Wei Chang, Princess Yangshi, and Princess Zhuyi. Although she has always given birth to a daughter, Emperor Wu is still partial to her, and there is a great momentum that she will not give birth to a son.

Such a situation was even more unbearable for Chen Jiao than those miserable Chinese medicine juices. So she turned to witchcraft. Among the many wizards, she chose the witch Chufu, hoping to use the power of the gods to save her husband's love. ——Chu Fu's level of witchcraft is high, there is no need to say more, but her ability to seduce people's hearts is definitely higher than her witchcraft. Chu Fu not only held a witch sacrifice ceremony for Chen Jiao, but also dressed himself as a man to eat and sleep with Chen Jiao. Chen Jiao, who was in despair, obeyed her and regarded her as her comfort and reliance in all aspects. At first, she knew how to hide her ears, but as the days went on, she became more and more inseparable from Chu Fu, and the smug Chu Fu and the female apprentices forgot what realm the palace was, and became unscrupulous day by day.

Chen Jiao's changes were so obvious that even Liu Che, who rarely approached her, felt it in the end. So the East Window incident happened.

In the fifth year of Yuan Guang (130 BC), the Han Wu Emperor Liu Che had a final attack on the witch incident, and he handed the case over to the famous cool official Zhang Tang to handle, and ordered that it be exhausted.

At this time, Chen Jiao's maternal grandmother Empress Dowager Dou had passed away for five years, and Princess Guantao had lost power for a long time, and the situation was different today. Zhang Tang's investigation was fierce, and soon there were results.

Chu Fu was convicted of "offering sacrifices to the empress witch shrine and going against the way", and the little witch who was implicated and the more than 300 eunuchs and palace maids in the queen's palace who were unwitting were beheaded on the street.

After the great killing, the twenty-seven-year-old Liu Che issued an edict on July Otsumi: "The empress is out of order, confused by Wu Zhu, and cannot accept the mandate of heaven." It was covered with a seal and retired to the Nagato Palace. "——More than ten years of husband and wife relationship, so far it came to an abrupt end.

This news was no different from a thunderbolt for Princess Guantao, who was afraid that the disaster caused by her daughter would continue to be involved, and hurriedly rushed into the palace to kneel down and beg for mercy to the emperor's nephew who she had stood up with one hand. At this time, Liu Che was still young and soft-hearted, thinking of his former relationship, he promised never to pursue his aunt and cousin's family, and even said that he would follow the wish of "Golden House Zangjiao", although Gillian is no longer the empress, she still enjoys the same luxurious material treatment as before.

Princess Guantao, who breathed a sigh of relief, was already grateful to her nephew's reply, and did not dare to say more and returned to the Hou Mansion.

Although his wife brought back messages, Tangyi Marquis Chen Wu was always worried about how things would unfold, and he soon fell ill. In the second year after her daughter Chen Jiao was deposed, Chen Wu died of an illness.

  IX. Nagato Fu

Two years after Chen Jiao was deposed, Wei Zifu finally gave birth to Liu Che's eldest son, Liu Zheng. The delighted Liu Che then made Wei Zifu his wife in March of the second year of Yuan Shuo (128 BC). The throne of Empress Dahan, which had been vacant for two years, had a new owner.

Not long after her husband's death, the newly widowed Princess Guantao Chang had an unromantic love affair with her adopted son Dong Wei. All his energy was put into this beautiful young man, and he wanted his nephew to recognize his second spring. What's more, now that the new has been established, revisiting the old thing will not only not help, but also provoke the nephew, and his own gain is not worth the loss. She had no time to care about her daughter, and only thought about being merry.

Emperor Wu also had a tacit understanding with his aunt in this regard, and the relationship between his aunt and nephew was hot for a while. But Chen Jiao became uninterested in the comprehension of her mother and husband.

However, Chen Jiao, who was locked up in the Nagato Palace, still missed the beautiful warmth of her first marriage, and she infatuated her husband to change his mind one day. She heard that Liu Che liked Sima Xiangru's literary style in Shu County very much, and recited all his dictionaries, so she took out a hundred catties of gold and gave it to Sima Xiangru, asking him to make a fu for himself, hoping to let her husband remember the old love. Under the heavy reward, Sima Xiang wrote a poignant and moving masterpiece "Changmen Fu".

"Fu He Yi is a beautiful person, and he is at risk of himself. The soul is more than a soothing and not a revolt, and the form is withered and solitary. I say that I am coming and going, eating and drinking, and forgetting. The heart shifts and does not feel unconscious, and the friendship is proud. Iyo Shizhi is slow and foolish, and has a joyful heart. May the question be blessed and self-advancing, and the jade voice of the king. Sincerity in the face of false words, the palace of the south of the city. Slim and self-made, Jun once refused to be lucky. Alone and specialized, the sky drifts and the wind blows. Ascending the lantai and looking at Xi, the god is stunned (sound shaking) and lewd. The clouds are gloomy and stuffy, and the sky is beautiful and cloudy. The thunder sounded loudly, and the sound was like the sound of a king's car. The wind rises and rises, and the drapery is raised. The laurel trees are intertwined, and the fragrance of the fierce is childish (yin).

The peacocks gather and coexist, and the Xuan apes roar and groan. Jade wings come together, and the phoenix soars north and south. The heart is not comfortable, and the evil spirit is strong and attacking. Go down the Lantai and look around, and walk calmly in the deep palace. The main hall block is built to create heaven, and the depression rises and rises and rises to the firmament. The occasional migration leans on the east box, and the observation is quiet and endless. Squeeze the jade house to shake the gold paving, the sound of the sound (tone macro) and like a bell. Carved Mulan thought Yuxi, and as Wen Xing thought Liang. Luo Feng's wandering tree is fierce, and he is holding up from the building. Shi Gem Mu's Gong (Yin Bo) 栌兮, and the commission is uneven to Qiao (Yin Kang) Liang. It seems that things are like stones. The five colors dazzle each other, and the rotten shine into light. To the wrong stone, like the tortoiseshell article. Zhang Luoqi's curtain is drapery, and the Lian Gang of the Chu Group.

Fu Zhu frieze to calmly, the central center of the Ququ Platform. The white crane wails and the parthenogenetic kneels on the dry intestines. The sun is dusk and the view is overwhelming, and the empty hall is alone. Hanging the bright moon to take care of itself, wandering in the cave room at night. Aid Yaqin changes the tone and plays sorrow for a long time. The case has turned around, and the voice has revived. Throughout the experience, the intention is generous and self-respecting. Left and right are sad and weeping, and tears are flowing and crisscrossing. Relieved and intense, and hobbling (sound migration) rises and hesitates. Count the past sages (Yin Qian). The faceless can be revealed, and then he thinks and goes to bed. If you think that the pillow is Xi, Xi Quanlan and Zhu (sound) fragrant. Sleepy and dreamy, like a king. If there is no seeing, if the soul is full of madness (sound madness) is dead. The roosters croaked and worried, looking at the essence of the moon. The audience starded, and Bi was from the east. Look at the kindness of the atrium, if the frost falls in autumn. The night manman is like a long time, and he is depressed. Waiting for the dawn, the deserted pavilion and the regain of sight. Concubines steal from their own sorrows, and dare not forget their years. ”

According to "Nagato Fu Order", after this Fu was read by Liu Che, he was extremely moved, and although he could not restore Chen Jiao as empress, he rekindled his old relationship with her and worked together in the joy of flying.

However, this kind of statement of sticking gold to the text simply cannot withstand scrutiny, not to mention that we now feel outrageous, even the ancients who annotated the historical record, could not help but shout: "There is also a praise for faith, and the fear of revival is not true." ”

  10. A family full of heroes

While Chen Jiao's mother and brothers were profligate and disorganized, Wei Zifu's family kept fighting for Wei Zifu, and gradually became the pillar of the Han Dynasty and held military power.

In the year that Chen Jiao was deposed as empress, Liu Cheche made Wei Zifu's younger brother Wei Qing a riding general (Wei Changjun had died at this time, and Wei Bu Wei Guang was probably the same), Wei Zifu's eldest brother-in-law Gongsun He was a light car general, Wei Qing's lifesaver Gongsun Ao was a cavalry general, and Wei Li Guang was a horse general, each leading 10,000 horses to attack the Xiongnu. - In this battle, Gongsun He was unsuccessful, Gongsun Ao rode 7,000, Li Guang's entire army was exhausted, and he escaped after being captured by the Xiongnu, and according to military law, he committed a capital crime, and ransomed his life with money. Only Wei Qing rose to prominence, killed more than 700 enemies, and directly smashed Dragon City (the place where the Xiongnu worshiped the heavens and ancestors), broke the fierce spirit of the Xiongnu, and sealed the marquis of Guannei.

Another year later, in the autumn of the year in which Wei Zifu became empress, the Xiongnu invaded the Han realm, killing Yuyang, which was guarded by Taishou in western Liaoning and breaking the town of Han'an State, killing more than 3,000 people. Emperor Wudi of Han reactivated Li Guangzhen to defend Youbeiping (in present-day southwest Lingyuan, Liaoning Province), and when the Xiongnu soldiers heard the news, they attacked from Yanmen Pass. Emperor Wudi of Han sent Wei Qing to meet the enemy head-on, and Li Xi attacked from Dai County, killing thousands of enemies. Wei Qing's military talent was further proven.

After that, Wei Qing was out of control, and he attacked the Xiongnu seven times; The division killed more than 50,000 enemies; more than one million head of horses, cattle and sheep of all kinds; and the Xiongnu fought head-on once; successively expelled the Xiongnu King of Aries, King Loufu, and King Youxian; The recapture of Henan (Hetao region of Inner Mongolia) added Shuofang County and Wuyuan County to the territory of the Han Dynasty. He himself was given the title Marquis of Changping and the Great General Da Sima, and received a total of 11,800 households, and his three sons were also given the titles Marquis of Yichun, Marquis of Yin'an, and Marquis of Fagan, each with 1,300 fiefs. Wei Qing's subordinates were nine marquis and fourteen generals for their battle merits.

Wei Zifu and Wei Qing's nephew Huo Qubing is even more legendary in military history, and at the age of eighteen, he accompanied his uncle twice to the Xiongnu as a lieutenant of Captain Yao, led 800 cavalry to rush hundreds of miles in front of the large army, killed 2,028 enemies with a small loss, killed Xiongnu Xiangguo and Danghu, Shan Yu's grandfather's Ruohou property, and captured Shan Yu alive his uncle Luo Gubi. He was made a hussar general and champion marquis.

After that, he went to the Xiongnu four times as a general, and fought in Juyanhai and Qilian Mountains, capturing a total of more than 110,000 Xiongnu troops, and having to slaughter the king and sacrifice the Tianjin. Because he severely damaged the Kunxi King and the Hutu King's subordinates, the Kunxie King, fearing that he would surrender alone, killed the Hutu King, and led more than 40,000 people to surrender, and Hexi Jiuquan returned to the Han land, and there was no Xiongnu royal court south of Hanhai. Huo Qu made battle exploits and sealed it four times until he reached 15,100 households.

His subordinates were made six marquises, two generals. It was a pity that Xing died early, and in September of the sixth year of Yuangari (117 BC), the twenty-four-year-old hussar general and Grand Sima died of illness. Liu Che was deeply saddened by Huo Qubing's early death, and sent the iron-armored army to build a large tomb for Huo Qubing, which resembled Qilian Mountain, with the name Marquis of Jinghuan, and let his son Huo Huan inherit the title. Huo Huo Zihou was still a child, and Liu Che kept him by his side to raise him, hoping that when he grew up, he could also become a general like his father. However, six years later, Huo Huo, who was not yet an adult, died in infancy, and Emperor Wu was so sad that he was given the nickname "mourning".

If Wei Qinghuo Qubing was able to get the opportunity to go out as a general in the first place, it was more or less stained with the light of Wei Zifu, the empress, then when Wei Qinghuo Qubing crossed the desert with undoubted strength and talent, opened up the territory and made unearthly achievements, it was Wei Zifu's turn to stain the light of his younger brother and nephew.

  11. "There is no joy in giving birth to a man, and there is no anger in giving birth to a girl." I don't see Wei Zifu dominating the world! ”

As he grew older, Wei Zifu's beauty also lost its luster over time, and more beauties enriched Liu Che's harem, and among these women, King Zhao's wife gave birth to a son Liu Hong the Prince of Qi for Emperor Wu, who was especially favored. But she came from a humble and poor background, and no one in her family had the patience to get ahead. Wei Qing's friend Ning Cheng then advised Wei Qing: "Although you have made great achievements, your sons still rely on Empress Wei's affection for getting the marquis. And now the emperor favors Mrs. Wang, if you can express something to the Wang family, then it is also good for the empress. Wei Qing adopted Ning Cheng's idea and took out five hundred catties of gold from Emperor Wu's reward and gave it to Mrs. Wang's family.

Liu Che heard about this from Mrs. Wang, and he was really furious, but he knew that with Wei Qinggeng's straightforward personality, he was unlikely to take the initiative to do so, so he asked him. Wei Qing did not hide his future and told Emperor Wu about the dragon's whereabouts. Emperor Wu was very pleased that Ning Cheng had such a good idea to benefit his new favorite, and immediately made him the captain of the East China Sea. At the same time, he was even more impressed by Wei Zifu's restraint on his family and Wei Qing's humility. Therefore, in April of the following year (the first year of Yuangari), Ding Ding, the eldest son born to Wei Zifu, Liu Zheng, was crown prince.

Although her husband gradually empathized and fell in love, this year was still good news for Wei Zifu. After his son Liu Cheng became crown prince, the former master and the emperor's sister Princess Pingyang also offered to marry his sister-in-law.

Princess Pingyang's husband Cao Shou died long ago, and the current Marquis of Pingyang is her son Cao Xiang. When she wanted to remarry after being widowed for many years and summoned her courtiers to discuss who was a match for the marquis of the dynasty, everyone unanimously recommended Weiqing, the Marquis of Changping. Although Princess Pingyang had this intention for a long time, she still felt that Wei Qing had been her own family slave, and she was afraid that marrying like this would attract criticism. Everyone persuaded: "Now Wei Qing is a great general, and his sister is an empress, and his nephew is the crown prince, not counting the marquis of ten thousand households, even his three sons have been made marquis, even his nephew Huo Qu is sick, one family and five marquis." If such a person does not marry, who else is worth marrying? ”

Princess Pingyang nodded again and again and said yes, so she immediately told Wei Zifu this idea and asked her to tell Emperor Wu to marry.

Emperor Wudi of Han strongly agreed with his sister's idea, and for the Wei Zifu sisters and brothers, the former master took the initiative to be the daughter-in-law of the Wei family, which was also a very proud thing. So a huge and luxurious wedding was held. The historian sighed deeply at this and said: "The husband was rich and noble at that time, all evils were destroyed, and he was glorious and prosperous, but how tired he was when he was poor!" Later, Princess Pingyang, who married herself into the Wei family, went one step further and let her son Cao Xiang, Marquis of Pingyang, marry Princess Wei Chang, the daughter of Wei Zifu and Liu Che.

The wealth and glory of the Wei family had reached its climax by this time, and it could be said that it was Guizhen in the world. Before this, there had never been such a situation in history, and a slave family could deduce such a myth in just a dozen years. For a time, folk songs resounded in the sky: "There is no joy in giving birth to a man, and there is no anger when giving birth to a girl." I don't see Wei Zifu dominating the world! ”

  12. Empress Chen who died in loneliness and Empress Wei who suffered in loneliness

At the same time, in the lonely Nagato Palace, Chen Jiao is still suffering year after year. After learning that Wei Zifu's son became the crown prince, Chen Jiao, who was already completely desperate, got the news that her mother, Princess Tao Chang, had died. What made her even more painful was her mother's last words to Emperor Wu when she was dying - she just begged that she could be buried with her little lover Dong Yan, and there was not a word about her daughter, who had not seen her for more than ten years.

A few years after the death of Princess Guantao Chang, Chen Jiao's brother, Chen Ji, the Marquis of Tangyi, committed adultery and killed his brothers. Emperor Wu was enraged by his cousin's actions and ordered an investigation in the first year of Yuan Ding. Chen Jixu committed suicide in fear of sin, and the title of Marquis of Tangyi was revoked.

Chen Jiao, who lost all hope and dependence, then languished in the Nagato Palace for four or five years, and died in the coldness of the Nagato Palace. At this time, Liu Che was in a daze in the group of beautiful women in the harem, and Wei Zifu, who had great merit to his mother's family, was still indifferent, not to mention this ex-wife who had been abolished for twenty years. However, perhaps for the sake of his cousin's feelings, he passed on an order to bury Chen Jiao as a concubine in Chang'an Balinglang Guantingdong.

Since his seven-year-old son Liu Cheng was crowned prince, it has been difficult to see Liu Che in Wei Zifu's residence. Liu Che is a famous emperor in Chinese history, and during the Yuan Shuo period, he began to elect beautiful women among the world, and there were a total of 18,000 beautiful women under the age of thirty on the court roster (he was a little kinder than Tang Minghuang, and all palace women over thirty years old were sent out of the palace to marry). Moreover, this jun's eyes are extremely picky, and only women who are still beautiful without applying fat powder can enter the eyes.

He was extremely conceited about his pickiness and energy, saying that he "could go three days without food and could not go a day without a woman." In order to have more places to accommodate his concubines, he upgraded the harem system that had been inherited for many years to ten levels, and the knighthoods of pregnant and childbearing people were sealed at the fourth level below the empress (prince-level Jieyu, Liehou-level Jing'e, Guanzhong Marquis level's Ronghua, and Dashangzao's ministerial-level clothing), in front of such an alluring status and wealth, all the palace maids and their families tried their best to attract the attention of the emperor - in such a colorful flower, Liu Che had already forgotten the old love of crying and pity with Wei Zifu to cloud nine.

After Wei Zifu fell out of favor, the first to emerge in the crowd was of course King Zhao's wife, King Qi's mother. However, she died young and early when she was most favored. Soon after, the underage King of Qi also died.

After Mrs. Wang's death, another beautiful woman came into Liu Che's sight. She was Lady Li of Zhongshan State, the third empress of Emperor Wu Liu Che.

XIII. There are beautiful people in the north

Mrs. Li's origin is worse than Wei Zifu. Although Wei Zifu is a slave girl, her background is still somewhat doubtful, and she only serves in the princess mansion. Mrs. Li, on the other hand, was born into a family of kabuki artists for generations, and was raised as a kabuki dancer from an early age. However, her brother Li Yannian made all the difference.

Li Yan is older in singing and dancing skills, and is a genius in this regard, and whenever he sings a new song, the listener can't help but be moved by the song. He was very good-looking, and after breaking the law, he was sentenced to palace punishment and entered the palace to become Emperor Wu's male favorite. Soon he discovered that he was serving a lecherous king, and he started his mind on it.

One day, Emperor Wu asked Li Yannian to sing and dance to help the fun, so Li Yannian lost no time in singing a new song he made, saying: "There are beautiful people in the north, peerless and independent, caring for the city of people, and then for the country." Ning does not know the city and the country, beautiful people are difficult to get! After hearing this, Emperor Wu couldn't help but reverie Lian Pian and sighed: "It's just a song, is there really such a beautiful person in the world?" ”

Therefore, Princess Pingyang, who had already accepted a large amount of bribes from the Li family, immediately lost no time in reporting next to her: "The beautiful woman sung in Li Yannian's song is his own sister. ”

Liu Che was naturally overjoyed and immediately summoned. At first sight, the heart is pleasant, not only is it really more beautiful than imagination, it has the kind of lofty and peerless temperament that Li Yannian sings, it is more intelligent, and it can also sing and dance well. Liu Che immediately included her in the harem, and she was inseparable for a while, which made the harem woman extremely jealous. Once when Emperor Wu went to Madame Li's palace, he accidentally had an itchy head, so he pulled off Mrs. Li's jade hairpin to tickle. The news soon spread throughout the harem, and it became fashionable for women in the palace to use jade as a hairpin for a while, so that the price of jade in the city of the long palace doubled. I think it was probably because the hairpin was pulled, Mrs. Li's expression was charming, so Liu Che praised a few more words or stayed overnight. In short, the jade merchant made a profit, and since then the jade hairpin has added another alias in Chinese history: "jade scratching the head". Emperor Wudi of Han probably felt that the jade hairpin was being used indiscriminately by the palace maidens, and in order to highlight the uniqueness of Madame Li, he instead ordered craftsmen to make a grate comb for Mrs. Li with ivory and stick it on her head. I guess the elephant may have been a little unlucky because of this!

Under such circumstances, Lady Li soon gave birth to a son Liu Che, Liu Lu, who was made the Prince of Changyi.

However, good flowers do not bloom often, and soon after giving birth, Mrs. Li became ill. Liu Che did not take her illness seriously at first, but did not expect that Mrs. Li's condition would soon worsen, and Liu Che finally got a little worried and went to visit in person.

When she heard that the emperor was coming, Mrs. Li immediately covered her face with a quilt and said, "I have been ill for too long, and my appearance is haggard and I can't see the emperor again." After I die, I hope you will take good care of my sons and brothers. Liu Che said: "You are already ill to the point of incurability, I may come here to see the last time, isn't it better for you to entrust the aftermath in person?" Mrs. Li replied, "If you don't tidy up your appearance, you can't see your father." I dare not go against the teachings of the saints. Liu Che hurriedly said, "As long as you are willing to let me see you again, I will give you thousands of gold and make your brother a high-ranking official." Mrs. Li refused to carry it out: "Whether or not to seal the official depends on the emperor's wishes, not because you can't see this side." The more she didn't want to see it, the more Liu Che wanted to see it, but no matter how bad he was, Mrs. Li just didn't see it, and turned around and sobbed.

Looking at the world, I am afraid that Liu Che has never thought that there will be any person in the world (whether a man or a woman) who dares to disobey his will and does not want to see his face - and he still does not see him under his good words. He was so annoyed that he got up and left.

The Li sisters who entered the palace to accompany Mrs. Li were all frightened by the angry and hateful appearance of Emperor Wu Liu Che, and when Emperor Wu left, they immediately reproached Mrs. Li: "Why are you just refusing to see the emperor and instructing your brother and son!" Do you hate that he only came to visit you now? Mrs. Li sighed and said, "The reason why I refused to see the emperor was precisely to better entrust my brother and son." Because I was born beautiful, I was able to get the favor of the emperor from the humble. In the world, those who do things to others, the color is weak, and the love is loved, and the love is desperate. The emperor liked me entirely because of my appearance. After I became seriously ill, my former beauty was lost, and if the emperor really saw me as I am now, he would only dislike and spurn me, and even the good impression left on him in the past would be swept away, where would he be willing to think back to his old feelings and take care of my children and brothers! ”

Shortly after this visit, Mrs. Li died. She died before Huo Qubing, and her death should also be shorter than Huo Qubing, probably only about twenty years old. If it were now, this would be only the age of college graduation, but these few short words in her history books, the wisdom and perseverance and courage reflected in them, were enough to make her one of the most unforgettable women in history.

  XIV. Thoughts

Mrs. Li's ice and snow intelligence and sober sanity were verified by facts after her death. Liu Che's mind was full of her incomprehensible and charming image, as well as his own fault for crying in her "angry" illness, and he had completely ignored Mrs. Li's refusal to meet. So he was very sad, and in order to show his affection, he ordered a queen-level funeral for Mrs. Li and chose a burial place for her in his Maoling North. The "Sanfu Huangtu" records the specifications of this cemetery: "Fifty steps from east to west, sixty steps north and south, and eight feet high." ”

This is not the end, Liu Che still feels that he has not expressed enough of his longing for Mrs. Li, and let the painter paint her portrait, hanging it in the Ganquan Palace to reminisce often.

The more he saw the portrait, Liu Che missed it more and more. At this time, a Fang Shi Shaoweng from the Qi Kingdom volunteered, saying that he could summon the soul of Lady Li for Emperor Wu to meet him.

So on this night, Shaoweng set down lamps and candles, set up a tent in the place where Mrs. Li lived before her death, displayed wine and meat offerings in front of the tent, and set up another tent for Emperor Wu to sit in, and asked him to maintain his demeanor and maintain the quiet state of the scene no matter what he saw. And then he started dancing.

Sure enough, a moment later, Emperor Wu seemed to see a beautiful figure appear in the tent from a distance, and it was the appearance of Mrs. Li in a trance. Emperor Wu saw this figure sitting and walking in the tent, but he could only watch from afar, and finally couldn't help standing up, but as soon as he stood up, the figure in the tent quietly disappeared, leaving only a silence and darkness.

Emperor Wu was moved by this scene, sad, and composed a poem: "Is it evil, not evil? Standing up, why is it belated! Later, he made another eulogy, "Fallen Leaves Lamenting Cicada Song": "Luo Song is silent, heavy and dusty, the empty room is cold and lonely, the fallen leaves are attached to Ning, looking at the beautiful daughter, and feeling the rest of the heart." Emperor Wu ordered the court musicians to match both words with music for the palace maids to sing in the harem.

One day, Emperor Wu rested in the Yanliang room. In his dream, he saw Mrs. Li appear, and gave him a handful of turnips in his hand. When he suddenly woke up, he was surprised to find that although it was only a spring dream, the smell was still between the pillows, and it had not disappeared for months. In order to commemorate it, Emperor Wu changed the name of the cool room to the "Dream Room of Lost Fang".

After the love songs sung by the palace maids and such a wonderland repeatedly stimulated, Liu Che was even more lovesick for Mrs. Li, and soon wrote a more moving Fu:

"Mei Lianjuan is a cultivator, and her life is never long. Decorate the new palace to extend the storage, and do not return to the hometown. It is miserable and desolate, and it is hidden and sad. Shi Yu Ma Yu Jiao Xi, and cultivate the night is not sunny. To sink into the shadows for a long time, cherish the untouched Yang. The thought of poverty is not repaid, but the young are the sheep. The autumn air was miserable with tears, the laurel branches fell and died, and the gods thought from afar, and the essence floated out. To Shenyin for a long time, cherish the untouched of the Hua, the thought of the poor does not return the yang, but the young sheep. Han Lingxing with the wind, Fang miscellaneous attack with Mi Zhang, the appearance and with the fierce, the ethereal Yao Yu Zhuang. Yan is lewd and caressing, and even the stream is looking and exalted, both excited and heart-chasing, and red and bright. Joy to parting, the glow of dreams, sudden transformation without reaction, and freedom to fly. He souls were all gone, mourning Pei back with hesitation, the road was getting farther and farther away, and then he suddenly resigned. Super Xi Zheng, crumbs are gone. Immersed in a trance, silent and silent, thinking like a wave, sluggish in the heart.

Chaotic: "Jia Xia Hanguang, Fall Glory, Jealousy, Will An Chengxi!" Fang Shi is prosperous, the age is broken, the disciples are increased, and the pupils are sluggish. The grief is unstoppable. Xiang is not vain, Yiyun is already gone, Yan Yan is too sighing, sighing childishly, and relying on what he is. If the benevolent does not swear, will he be intimate? If you don't come in the past, you will believe in it. Go to Pi Zhaozhao, and you will be in the dark, and you will go to the new palace and no longer return to the old court. Woohoo, want to be soulful! ”

However, Sima Qian, in his Shiji, said that the "beautiful person" summoned by Shaoweng for Emperor Wudi of Han was not Lady Li, but Lady Wang, the biological mother of King Qi and also died early.

The "Gleaning Notes" said that Emperor Wudi of Han had indeed summoned the soul of Lady Li to meet, but the priest he was looking for was named Dong Zhongjun. It took Dong Zhongjun ten years of hard work to find a strange stone overseas that could make the soul attach, carved into the appearance of Mrs. Li and placed it in the light gauze curtain, and sure enough, Mrs. Li was reborn. Emperor Wu was very happy and wanted to approach "Mrs. Li", but Dong Zhongjun said that there was a strange poison on the stone, not to mention that the soul was not a living person, so he could only look at it from a distance and could not get close. In order not to let Emperor Wu touch it by mistake, Dong Zhongjun quickly split the stone statue into nine segments. Emperor Wu was disappointed and unbearable, and then built the Mengling Platform to worship Lady Li.

And the people even have such a saying, saying that Emperor Wu went to Fangshi's dang, and the "soul" he saw through the gauze tent had nothing to do with Mrs. Li or Mrs. Wang, but in fact it was just a shadow puppet performance by Shaoweng and others.

But anyway, the Han Wudi Liu Che had a deep affection for Madame Li (of course, maybe it was just that Mrs. Li died at the critical moment when he loved her the most), and he never forgot Madame Li for many years, and even Huo Guang, a famous minister he used in his later years, was deeply impressed by it. When Emperor Wu died, because most of his famous concubines were killed by him for crimes, and as an emperor, he could not be buried in the imperial mausoleum one by one! After pondering and meditating, Huo Guangjin Ilpeng, who was a heavy minister of Tuogu, finally had a flash of inspiration and posthumously named Lady Li "Empress Xiaowu", and ranked her spiritual throne with Emperor Wu to enjoy the sacrifice of posterity.

Because she became empress after her death, Lady Li's tomb was called "Yingling", also known as "Xi Xiantai".

However, from the scene where the Li sisters blamed her for not seeing the emperor, it can be inferred that Mrs. Li's brothers and sisters not only did not have one-tenth of her ice and snow intelligence, but were also keen on fame and fortune, and easily got carried away, and did not have enough understanding of the emperor's moodiness and emotional world.

After Lady Li's early death, the lovesick Liu Chejin made Lady Li's brother Li Guangli a general of the Second Division and Li Yannian a lieutenant of Xielu.

Fifteen, another scourge of the queen family

Emperor Wu was a brilliant emperor, and thanks to his enterprising and ambitious ambition, China was able to expand its territory. But he has a daunting trait: suspiciousness. If he feels that his royal power is threatened, he can even more disagree and kill people.

After Huo Qubing came to prominence, Liu Che, who had long been suspicious of Wei Qing's excessive military power, did not hesitate to reuse Huo Qubing to curb Wei Qing's momentum. And Wei Qing had no complaints about this, perhaps because he had suffered too much as a teenager, his temperament was kind, he humbly gave in, and accepted any decision made by Emperor Wu respectfully. Although Huo Qubing is young, he has a heroic and courageous personality, dares to act, and never divulges what others say. Liu Che loved him very much, even to the extent of connivance.

However, Huo Qubing died very early, which dealt a serious blow to Emperor Wu and disrupted his plans. Although Wei Qing had military genius and luck in sending troops to win, Emperor Wu was still reluctant to use him, so that for a long time after Huo Qu's death, the Han Dynasty did not use troops against the Xiongnu again.

In the first year of Yuan Ding after Huo Qu's death, Wei Qing's son Yichunhou was stripped of his knighthood for breaking the law. In September of the fifth year of the Yuan Dynasty, Emperor Wudi of Han, who was increasingly suspicious, abolished more than 100 marquis titles in one fell swoop, including Wei Qing's other two sons, the Marquis of Yin An and the Marquis of Fagan, on the grounds that "the sacrifice of the marquis was not as good as the law" (in fact, it was just that the amount or quality of the sacrifice gold was not enough). Although Wei Qing is no longer as good as before, after all, the person is still there, and Liu Che is still obsessed with Huo Qubing, and even raised his son Huo Huan to prepare for the future general. Wei Zifu's position as queen is still very stable. Unexpectedly, Huo Huo died two years later, and after another four years, even Wei Qing died, although Wei Ling inherited the title of Marquis of Changping, but it was no longer the same. However, Wei Zifu's brother-in-law Gongsun He had already become prime minister at this time, and the position of Wei Zifu's mother and son was still stable.

However, the calamity did not go alone, and in the autumn of the first year of Zhenghe, the scourge of witchcraft arose out of thin air. The cause was that Liu Che was old and infirm, saw the vision of the assassin in broad daylight, and had a nightmare of being besieged by thousands of wooden people. Soon after, Wei Zifu's undisputed nephew Gongsun Jingsheng committed embezzlement again. In order to save his son's life, Gongsun He asked for atonement for his meritorious service by arresting the giant thief Zhu Anshi for his crimes. After Zhu Anshi was captured, in retaliation, he complained to Gongsun Jingsheng for fornicating with his cousin Princess Yangshi, and also said that Yangshi and Princess Zhuyi practiced witchcraft in the harem. This letter of accusation was in line with Liu Che's hallucinatory dreams, and Liu Che then raised a prison and sent his subordinate captain Jiang Chong to investigate it.

Jiang Chong, like Zhidu and Zhang Tang, is a famous cool official. However, although the capital is ranked as a cool official, he is upright in law enforcement, fearless of the powerful, and has made great achievements in protecting the land for the country, and is called "goshawk"; Zhang Tang was clean and self-defensive, and after being framed by Zhu Meichen and others for committing suicide, his family property was only 500 gold, and there was no coffin at the time of burial (Emperor Wu killed Zhu Meichen and others after learning about it. Zhang Tang's family style was rigorous, and his son Zhang He was a matchmaker for Emperor Xuan of Han and arranged the marriage between Emperor Xuan and Xu Pingjun. Zhang He died before Emperor Xuan ascended the throne, and in order to repay him, Emperor Xuan posthumously made him the Marquis of Ende, his seven-year-old grandson was the Marquis of Guannei, and his brother Zhang Anshi was also made Marquis and added food to the 10,000 households.

Zhang Anshi resigned from his official post and lived thriftily, and Emperor Xuan was far closer to him than the auxiliary minister Huo Guang. After that, the Zhang family continued to follow Zhang Tang's clean and cautious style, and Wang Mang did not lose his prominent position when he usurped the Han Dynasty, and Liu Xiushi, the Guangwu Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, still promoted Zhang Tang's descendants as the Marquis of Wushi. The Zhang Tang family became a unique figure in the Han dynasty) - however, Jiang Chong was the scum of the cool officials, and because of his grudge with the crown prince Liu Zheng, he began to plot to subvert Liu Zheng's position. Emperor Wu handed over the case of the giant thief Zhu Anshi to Jiang Chong, which really hit his heart. In the matter of subverting the status of Wei Zifu Liu Zheng's mother and son, Jiang Chong was even more of the same as Li Guangli, the general of the Second Division.

In the third year after Wei Qing's death (104 BC), Emperor Wudi of Han heard that there was a "sweat and blood BMW" outside the city of the Dawan Kingdom in the Western Regions (present-day Fergana Basin in Central Asia, part of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan), so he sent messengers with huge amounts of gold to buy it. However, King Dawan refused to sell, and the messenger cursed. Enraged, the king ordered King Yucheng to intercept the Western Han mission at the border and rob him of all the gold. Liu Che was furious, and officially appointed Lady Li's brother Li Guangli as the general of the second division to expedition to Dawan. As a result, Li Guangli was defeated in the first battle, and only one-tenth of the remnants fled back. Liu Che thought of the invincibility of the avant-garde Qinghuo to sick, and looked at Li Guangli's embarrassed war report, and ordered him and his subordinates who dared to step into the Jade Gate Pass without amnesty. He then continued to increase his troops until Li Guangli defeated the Dawan state, and the subjects of the Dawan kingdom killed the king and sacrificed more than 3,000 sweaty horses.

Li Guangli fought two battles before and after, paying the lives of 100,000 soldiers, most of whom did not die in battle, but died because Li Guangli did not spare his troops and arbitrarily trampled on his subordinates. However, Liu Che pretended to be deaf and dumb, and still made Li Guangli the Marquis of Haixi who led 8,000 households, and he used the Li brothers very much. Li Yannian did not argue, and actually committed adultery in the palace, and was soon killed by Emperor Wu. Li Guangli was somewhat scheming, and he married his daughter to Liu Quyan, the son of Liu Sheng, the king of Zhongshan Jing, as a daughter-in-law of Emperor Wudi of Han, paving the way for better opportunities. And now he finally waited for this opportunity.

After Jiang Chong's "in-depth investigation", tens of thousands of people were innocently killed in Chang'an City and even in various counties because of witchcraft, and by the spring and summer of the second year of Zhenghe, the Gongsun He family, together with Yangshi and Princess Zhuyi, were killed one after another. Wei Zifu lost one of his last powerful relatives in the dynasty and lost two biological daughters.

  - Jiang Chong's initial victory in the war, and his "work results" allowed Li Guangli to reap profits: his son's in-laws, Liu Quyan, were subsequently made prime ministers.

Jiang Chong then continued his efforts to further expand the case, all the way to the heads of Empress Wei Zifu and Crown Prince Liu Zheng. He dug the palace where they lived like a vegetable field, and Wei Zifu and the prince did not even have a flat ground to sit on.

After all, Wei Zifu was the empress for thirty-eight years, and Liu Zheng was the prince who had the power to govern, and they couldn't stand Jiang Chong's unscrupulous humiliation. When Jiang Chong actually "dug up" the "evidence", they suddenly realized even more and understood his sinister intentions. So Liu asked to see his father to plead. However, this normal request was rejected by Jiang Chong. Faced with such a situation, Wei Zifu asked Liu Cheng to ask the young Fu Shide for help, and Shi De said: "Since Prime Minister Gongsun Cheng and the two princesses were killed until now, the situation is clear, Jiang Chong and his backstage boss just want to get rid of your mother and son. At this point, Jiang Chong and his party can only be arrested and the truth can be traced, lest they go to the emperor to talk nonsense, otherwise it will be unimaginable. What's more, now that the emperor is far away in Chunhua Ganquan Palace, Jiang Chong won't let you see the emperor, maybe there are worse reasons - maybe it is to repeat the story of Qin Shi Huang's death, the prime minister and eunuchs not mourning, killing the crown prince Fusu, and establishing a new emperor. ”

On noon in July of the second year of Yihe, Empress Wei Zifu and the crown prince Liu Zheng, in anger and fear, obeyed Shi De's advice and sent people to kill Jiang Chong posing as Emperor Wu's messengers. However, in the chaos, Jiang Chong's accomplices were not captured, and the eunuch Su Wen fled, and quickly ran to Emperor Wu to falsely accuse the empress and the crown prince of rebellion.

Emperor Wu did not believe that his son, who had always been timid and cowardly, could actually have such boldness, and sent another person to Chang'an to inquire about the details. As a result, the investigator was as timid as a rat, and did not even dare to enter the gate of Chang'an City, and after a blind circle, he returned and opened his mouth, saying that the empress and the crown prince had indeed rebelled and were anxious to become emperors.

Therefore, the shocked Emperor Wu no longer hesitated, and immediately sent Liu Quyan to lead an army to fight his son to the death. Wei Zifu and Liu Cheng were already riding tigers by this time, and could only use the sword soldiers with Emperor Wu. However, they did not have talismans, so they could only transfer troops with moderation, but Jiang was still old and spicy, and Emperor Wu had already sent someone to notify the elite soldiers Hu Cai. Liu Zheng also went to Jianbei Army to transfer An's army, but Emperor Wu had already changed the specifications of the scepter and added Huang Xuan to the original red section, and Ren An also refused Liu Zheng's request. Unable to mobilize the regular army, Wei Zifu and Liu Cheng had to release the prisoners and mobilize the citizens to fight. Eight days later, tens of thousands of people died in Chang'an, and Liu Cheng was defeated, fleeing from Fu'ang Gate with only his two sons who accompanied him in battle.

The victorious Wu Emperor Liu Che sent people to hunt down his son, while sending Zongzheng Liu Changle and Jinwu Liu Dan to the Weiyang Palace to announce an edict to Wei Zifu, confiscate her empress seal, and await sanctions. Wei Zifu, who had no children and no daughters, knew her husband's ruthlessness better, refused to suffer any more humiliation, and committed suicide. - Wei Zifu's age is not recorded in detail in the history books, and if she was in the same year as Liu Che, she would have died at the age of sixty-six.

Shortly after Wei Zifu's death, Liu Zheng's father and son, who had died in Henan, also died in pursuit on Xinhai Day in August. After Liu Zheng's death, he was known as the "Jun" prince.

After the deaths of Wei Zifu and Liu Zheng, all of the Wei family was destroyed, Liu Zheng's staff and dependents were also killed (only a few months old baby Liu Xun survived, and neither was Cao Zong, the grandson of Princess Pingyang, Pingyang Marquis (when Emperor Wei of Han was mourned, he somehow found a seventh grandson Cao Benshi and reinstated the title of Marquis of Pingyang, and by the time Ban Gu wrote the Book of Han, the new Pingyang Cao clan had replaced the seventh generation of Marquis). The marquis and generals who had friendships with Wei's relatives, including Ren An, who refused to send troops to help Liu Zheng (he had been Wei Qing's protégé), were raided and killed, and hundreds of thousands of people died. The soldiers who contributed to Liu Zheng's efforts in this great melee exiled their clans to Dunhuang, dragging the old and young on the way, and the number of dead people would only exceed 100,000.

Su Wen, who thought he had succeeded, was furious, and found another eunuch, Yao Dinghan, as a helper, dragged Wei Zifu's body to a small empty room, loaded it into a small coffin used by civilians, and buried it indiscriminately in the south of Chang'an City.

XVI. The Follow-up to the Scourge of Witchcraft

In March of the following year (91 BC), Emperor Wu again appointed Li Guangli as a general and set out to attack the Xiongnu. At the time of departure, Li Guangli once again told Liu Quyu to step up the matter of establishing Changyi as the crown prince born to Lady Li.

However, Liu Quyan's actions were too intense, and he even used witchcraft, and such news actually leaked out, and was learned and reported by the eunuch Guo Yu to Emperor Wu. Emperor Wu, who learned the news, immediately pursued it, and Tian Qianqiu, who was guarding the tomb of Liu Bang, the ancestor of the Han Dynasty, wrote to Emperor Wu shortly thereafter, saying that he had dreamed of a white-haired old man and insisted that he Tian someone write to the emperor to state the grievances of Liu Zheng, the crown prince. Liu Che was angry at this time, regained his composure, and began to doubt the death of Wei Zifu and Liu Zheng. After seeing Tian Qianqiu playing the chapter, his brain was even more deeply touched, thinking that the old man in this dream must be his ancestor Liu Bang Xianling. So he appointed Tian Qianqiu as the Great Hongxu, and began to investigate the causes and consequences of Wei Zifu and Liu Zhu's rebellion. After investigation, Liu Che was stunned, and found that the inside story behind this matter was dark, and Li Guangli and Liu Quyan had something to do with it.

In June of the same year, Liu Quyi was put into a kitchen car and beheaded in Dongshi, and his wife was also beheaded on Huayang Street. Tian Qianqiu was appointed prime minister.

At this time, Li Guangli was leading his army in pursuit of the Xiongnu. The news that Liu had been cursed by the "witches" soon spread throughout the army, and his subordinates plotted to arrest him on the spot, and he was so afraid of death that he had to surrender to the Xiongnu. Emperor Wu was furious when he heard the news, and even more convinced his suspicions, and immediately destroyed the entire Li clan.

And Jiang Chong Suwen, who took the lead in slandering Empress Wei Zifu and the crown prince Liu Zheng, could not escape. Although Jiang Chong was killed by Liu Cheng earlier, Liu Che, who was annoyed, still exterminated the Jiang clan. Su Wen was a eunuch who had no home to destroy and was burned alive.

Emperor Wudi of Han then solemnly buried Liu Zheng, and built the "Return Wangsi" platform in the place where he died, and built the Si Womb in Chang'an, hoping to summon Liu Zheng's soul to remember.

However, he seems to have forgotten Wei Zifu, who has been married to him for thirty-eight years, and did not carry out any reburial memorials for her. This love legend between the emperor and the slave girl ended completely in the most cruel way.

After the death of Liu Cheng the Prince of Qi, Liu Hong the Prince of Qi, Liu Lu the Prince of Changyi also died of depression shortly after his uncle defected, and Emperor Wu's heir was chosen only among his three remaining sons.

Among them, the third son Liu Dan the Prince of Yan and the fourth son Liu Xu the King of Guangling were both born to another Lady Li. According to his age, King Yan was the ruler, so he sent an envoy from the fengguan country and tentatively wrote to Emperor Wu to request that he return to the capital to serve his father. Emperor Wu was furious, believing that it was necessary to kill the chicken for the monkey to see, so he slashed the unlucky messenger in two. King Yan has no hope, so is it the turn of Liu Xu, the king of Guangling?

However, Emperor Wu had other arrangements.

On about one day of the first lunar month of the first year of the Later Yuan Dynasty (88 BC), the Martial Emperor Liu Che, who was recovering from illness in the Ganquan Palace, summoned a painter and drew a picture of "The Duke of Zhou Becomes King" and showed it to the courtiers. Everyone realized that Emperor Wu's mind was to establish his youngest son, Liu Fuling.

XVII. A beauty from a miracle

Liu Fuling's mother's surname was Zhao, a native of Hejian in the Qi state, and her family was very unfortunate, and her father was sentenced to "palace punishment" for breaking the law, became a eunuch, and served as a Zhonghuangmen. This unfortunate man may have died early with his wife before his daughter could "get ahead". Leaving her daughter to live with her aunt Zhao Junji in her hometown of the river.

Two or three years before Empress Wei Zifu committed suicide due to the "scourge of witches", Miss Zhao was personally elected to the palace by Emperor Wu. At that time, Emperor Wu was cruising to the river, and suddenly a warlock claimed that there were auspicious clouds here, indicating that there must be strange women growing in Si. When Emperor Wu heard this, he immediately ordered a search on the spot, and sure enough, he found this beautiful girl. It's just that although she looks beautiful, she has been ill since childhood, she eats less, and her hands are clenched into fists, and no one can let her stretch. Emperor Wu was captivated by her beauty and personally went to try to wrestle her fists. So a miracle happened: the hands easily returned to a healthy appearance, and even more strangely, a small jade hook was still tightly held in the palm of the right hand.

Liu Che was overjoyed by this miracle and immediately called her "Mrs. Boxing" and included her in the harem. Lady Fist soon became pregnant, and in the third year of the Tai Dynasty (94 BC), she gave birth to the youngest child, Liu Fuling, who was sixty-four-five-year-old Liu Che, and was thus given the title of Lady Hookyi, and the little prince was also known as "Hook Yizi".

Liu Fuling, born to Mrs. Zhao Hookyi, had a strange sign and stayed in his mother's womb for fourteen months before he was born. This made Emperor Wu overjoyed: "I only heard that Emperor Yao was born fourteen months pregnant by his mother, but I didn't expect that now Mrs. Hookyi has also given birth to a son who is fourteen months pregnant for me. "Immediately rename the palace gate where Zhao Hookyi gave birth to his son "Yaomu Gate".

By the time Liu Che was seventy years old, Liu Fuling was only five or six years old, and although he was young, he was not only strong and handsome, but also extremely smart. Liu Che loved this toddler younger than his grandson like a treasure, and kept praising him as likable, like himself. Thinking of Liu Fuling's unique birth experience, he was even more determined to appoint this child as his heir.

However, Liu Che soon thought of a problem, that is, Liu Fuling was too young and Mrs. Hookyi was too young and beautiful. He began to wonder what it would be like when Madame Hookyi became the Empress Dowager. And the first ancestor who came to his mind was Lu He, not the respectful Empress Dowager Bo - Liu Che had played the darkest side of politics all his life, and he himself was too familiar with it, so he was bound to start with the most insidious side of others.

The result of this pondering came out, and he thought that it was a danger that Mrs. Hookyi was still alive, and he had to think of something to kill her. Moreover, she must be allowed to die on charges to avoid the possibility that her cousins will become officials in the future.

This cruel idea was quickly put into practice by Liu Che.

XVIII. The death of the future Empress Dowager

Qunchen watched the "King Picture of the Duke of Zhou", and couldn't help but envy the young Lady Hookyi and her family who were about to ascend to heaven in one step. But just a few days later, a shocking scene happened in the Ganquan Palace.

Liu Che suddenly had a big attack on Mrs. Hook Yi for a small mistake. In the past few years since Mrs. Hookyi entered the palace, she had heard and seen what happened to many sisters, and she had already understood the ruthlessness of her old husband, and she immediately knew that she was likely to repeat the mistakes of her predecessors, and quickly removed the ornaments on her head, and kowtowed to him with her head and begged for mercy. However, Liu Che was unmoved, and ordered the nearby attendants in a sharp voice: "Take her away and send her to the court prison for questioning!" The guards immediately carried out the order and dragged the Hook Lady down with a drag. Lady Hookyi still wanted to make a final begging, and looked back at Emperor Wu, hoping that he could remember his old feelings at the last moment and let him live. And Emperor Wu immediately extinguished all her hopes: "Go quickly, you can't live anymore." ”

This sentence announced the final fate of Lady Hookyi, and there was no need to waste extra time interrogating her, and Emperor Wu's order was immediately executed. Mrs. Hookyi died violently for unknown reasons, and when it got dark, she was buried overnight near the south of Ganquan Palace, and there was not even a tombstone on the small earthen tomb, just a small mark. This year, she will not be more than twenty-five years old at most.

It is said that on one day there was a storm in the local area, flying sand and dust, and the people were grieving for this innocent young woman. Soon it was said that her body smelled when it was to be buried.

Emperor Wu also knew that he had done this too viciously, so one day he asked the people around him: "What kind of discussion do people have about this matter?" The attendants did not dare to speak bluntly, but only expressed tactfully: "People just can't understand why they killed their mother before they were ordained as sons?" Emperor Wu snorted out of his nose: "How can a fool like you be able to guess my foresight?" Since ancient times, the country has been in turmoil, always because the monarch is young and his mother is young. Haven't you heard about Empress Lu? ”

Liu Che, the emperor of Hanwu, can be said to have been born exclusively for the position of "emperor", he was a completely successful emperor, and everything he did was to add weight to the word "emperor".

Since he thinks of "the Lord Young Mother is strong", and ruthlessly gets rid of the favored Lady Hookyi, he can easily associate with the origin of his grandfather Emperor Wen-Emperor Wen was only born to Bo Ji, who was not favored by Gaozu Liu Bang, and Gaozu never thought of passing the throne to him, and the world changed, and finally he became the emperor of the Great Han. - Of course, Liu Che also took this into account when cutting off the potential danger of Lü Xi II in the Han Dynasty (considering his attitude towards the hero Wu Jiang, we don't have to wonder why he never thought that there was also Empress Dowager Bo's example among women).

Therefore, while executing the heir Liu Fuling's biological mother Lady Hookyi, Liu Che also killed all the biological mothers of his other children - more unfortunate than Lady Hookyi, because their sons never had the blessing of being emperors, although they also died because they gave birth to the prince, they died more silently. And the concubines who did not give birth to a prince and only gave birth to a princess are even more innocent. Perhaps in order not to leave any woman who could serve as Liu Fuling's adoptive mother (of course, the adoptive mother of the little emperor may also be made empress), so even the mothers of the princesses, he did not let go easily.

It is impossible for us to know their names, and in the history books they have left only this faint record: "Whoever gave birth to a son for Emperor Wu, no man or woman, and his mother died without death." ("History")""Li Jisheng, Guangling, Wang Xu, Yan Wang Danye. (Book of Han)" "His concubines are the King of Yan and the King of Guangling. His mother was unfavored and died of sorrow. (Chronicle)"

None of them had any sin, all they did was give birth to offspring for the emperor, and it was possible to become the empress dowager as the future emperor's biological mother and mother.

Mrs. Li died fortunately early, otherwise I don't know what would have happened.

  XIX. It's finally over

In February of the year after Lady Hookyi was killed (87 BC), the seventy-one-year-old Liu Che was ill in the Wuzuo Palace. On the day of the second ugly, he officially made Liu Fuling crown prince. He died two days later and was buried in the Mausoleum.

Chen Jiao was deposed, Wei Zifu "rebelled", Emperor Wu's two wives lost their status as empresses, and the new emperor's biological mother was also executed by the old emperor, so the dead emperor can't enter the temple alone! Auxiliary ministers Huo Guang and Kim Il-chan posthumously crowned Lady Li as empress, and let her tablet accompany Emperor Wudi of Han to receive sacrificial incense from his descendants.

Subsequently, the seven-year-old Liu Fuling became emperor for Emperor Zhao of Han.

Emperor Han Zhao posthumously named his bitter mother empress and empress dowager, sent 20,000 troops to build the "Yunyang Mausoleum" for his mother, and moved 3,000 households to guard the mausoleum. On the day of the burial, when I opened the coffin and looked at it, there was no body inside, only a silk shoe.

Emperor Zhao then posthumously created his grandfather the Marquis of Shuncheng and moved to the Tomb House for 200. Zhao Junjie, the aunt who raised Mrs. Hookyi, is still alive and has received two million rewards and a mansion slave. Although none of Lady Hookyi's cousins were promoted to the rank of knight, they were all richly rewarded. But no amount of rewards can bring Mrs. Hook back to life.

Emperor Han Zhao reigned for fourteen years and died childless. The first thing that came to mind of auxiliary ministers Huo Guang and Zhang Chang was Liu He, the grandson of Lady Li, who was favored by Emperor Wudi of Han during his lifetime. However, this Liu He had a poor character, and after only twenty-seven days as emperor, the two auxiliary ministers could not tolerate it, and he was driven down from the throne to find a new candidate.

This time, they chose Liu Xun, the great-grandson of Wei Zifu. He was Emperor Xuan of Han.

Emperor Xuan of Han posthumously honored his great-grandmother Wei Zifu as "Empress Si", solemnly reburied her, and placed 300 households to guard the mausoleum. Then he looked around for his mother's people. The emperor paid off and finally found one of Wei Qing's grandsons: Wei Buji's son, and the Wei family was finally revived.

At this time, it was 74 BC, and Wei Zifu had died unjustly for eighteen years.
