The predecessor of the 50th Army was the 60th Corps when the Kuomintang was defending the northeast during the Liberation War, and after a long siege by our army, they abandoned the secret and turned to the light, and after the uprising, they were absorbed into our army and became the 50th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
After the political rectification of our party, the 50th Army was very conscious, and later participated in many campaigns and engineering construction, and achieved good results.
In the subsequent War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, they were even more famous in war history and won praise from many leaders on the mainland.

Just as the mission was completed and the order to retreat from the Banying area was completed, the leadership quarreled over differences of opinion.

The two sides in the dispute did not realize that their backs were quietly following a Vietnamese troop team, testing their military situation.
In the end, neither side could convince the other, and finally unanimously decided to report to the Guangzhou Military Region, requesting that an order be issued.
After receiving the news, the Guangzhou Military Region asked the troops to withdraw the same way, but the telegram was destroyed without translation due to the negligence of the staff.
After not receiving the news for a long time, the 150th Division finally heeded the advice of Deputy Army Commander Guan Xianming and acted in another way.
That night, the commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 448th Regiment led the team to explore, he looked at the dim starlight, the white fog in front of him, and the surrounding was quiet without a sound.
It was such an extraordinary aura everywhere, but the leaders of the 2nd Battalion did not have the slightest sense of vigilance, and just as they walked around the mountains, they were suddenly surrounded by the following Vietnamese troops, and the gunfire was in an uproar.
For a while, the soldiers were frightened by this accident, and even some soldiers fell in a pool of blood before they returned from their stunned state.
A battle ensued, but after a moment of fierce fighting, neither side tasted the sweetness, and the Vietnamese did not descend the mountain to attack, and they were also waiting for support to destroy the 2nd Battalion.
After some pulling, the deputy political commissar of the 2nd Battalion could not say anything about the enemy situation, so he immediately sent a telegram: The 2nd Battalion suddenly encountered the enemy army and asked the regiment commander to come to support.
After receiving the news, the leadership immediately began negotiations, and the division headquarters felt that it was not far from the 2nd Battalion and could go to support. However, the Garrison Working Group rejected the request.
The garrison working group arrogantly believed that the combat effectiveness of the Vietnamese army was vulnerable, and did not use the whole regiment to go to support, but sent Fu Peide, deputy chief of staff of the regiment, to lead two companies, the 1st Company and the 8th Company.
The political commissar and deputy chief of staff of the 2nd Battalion could not help but secretly rejoice in their hearts when they learned that the regiment headquarters had sent a company to support.
With confidence in their hearts, they did not want to boost morale and break through the siege of the Vietnamese army to test the strength of the Vietnamese army, but ordered the army to recharge in place and wait for rescue.
It was this slack of leadership from top to bottom that ultimately led to the devastating blow to the 448th Regiment.
At this time, the Vietnamese army had already waited for the support troops, and they began to carry out the siege layout intensively.
The leadership of the 2nd Battalion sent only a small group to guard around the army, keeping an eye out for the Vietnamese attack. When they were resting, they did not expect that the Vietnamese army had increased its combat effectiveness sharply, and they only waited for the team to come and fight it all.
As soon as Fu Peide led his team arrived, he was caught off guard by the Vietnamese army who had been waiting here for a long time.
In a panic, the team also scattered. Fu Peide could only lead a part of his soldiers to raid out in an emergency and seize a mountainous area.
Fu Peide looked at the fierce Vietnamese army in front of him and couldn't help but scold angrily: "What's going on? Doesn't it mean that the Vietnamese army is not afraid, how can there be so many troops? ”

However, the soldiers of the army were even more bloody when they heard the insults of the Vietnamese army, and they picked up their guns and hit. But without help, they struggled for several days, and finally ran out of ammunition.
At this moment, the Vietnamese army once again initiated a dialogue: "Have you thought about whether to surrender or continue to fight, and if we do not decide, we will directly annihilate you." ”
The soldiers who survived the battle are now in a desperate situation: how can they fight now without equipment and food?
At this moment, Feng Zengmin, the instructor of the 8th Company, and Li Heping of the 1st Company stood up, and Feng Zengmin said: "I had a dream yesterday, the heavens instructed us that there is no way to be invincible, and now that our army has won the battle, it may not be a wrong thing for us to surrender." ”
The soldiers hesitated when they heard this, and it was not a good thing to escape as a soldier.
Seeing this situation, Feng Zengmin said it again: "It is also a helpless move for us to make this situation now. ”
Subsequently, after deliberation, Feng Zengmin surrendered to Vietnam in the name of the whole family.
