Google China layoffs are too much!

Recently, the news of layoffs in Google's China R&D center has attracted great attention from the outside world.

It is normal for foreign companies to lay off employees, and it is common for several major foreign-funded technology giants to lay off employees every three forks and fifths. However, the layoff of Google's China R&D center has been widely discussed because of extremely generous compensation measures.

The compensation measures provided by Google include: N+1+9 salary compensation, plus stock, discounted annual leave, 30,000 yuan cash compensation and employee medical insurance. In addition, Google also gave employees who are about to be laid off a 3-month buffer period, during which wages and social security will continue to be paid.

Google China layoffs are too much!

It is understood that Google has R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, respectively, responsible for the development and operation of Android system, VR glasses, advertising system and other businesses. The layoffs are likely to focus on higher-ranking or higher-paid employees to reset compensation, reduce costs and improve efficiency.

So how much compensation will employees who are laid off be paid? I'll do the math simply.

First explain what N+1+9 means -

N+1 is a calculation method for calculating severance compensation based on the employee's working years (N) in the employer and the employee's salary level. Among them, N is the employee's working years in the employer, for each full year, compensation is 1 month's salary, less than half a year, half a month, more than half a year, 1 month. According to Article 40 of the Labor Law, an enterprise shall notify the employee in writing 30 days in advance or pay the employee an additional month's salary when terminating the labor contract. +9 is the compensation given to employees by the enterprise itself.

Google has set up a research and development center in China for more than ten years, especially this layoff is for high-level employees, which means that these laid-off employees should not work here for a short time, an average of 8 years. Then N+1+9 is equal to 18.

What is the monthly salary standard (generally refers to the average monthly salary before leaving, note: it is before tax)? I learned that the salary of Google China R&D Center is not the top in China, after all, the business development is average, the average is about 700,000-900,000 range, especially this layoff is for high-paying positions, so we calculate the annual salary of 800,000, the monthly salary is 66,700. It is not comparable to Tencent, Byte, and CICC, which is almost a little higher in the middle level.

In this way, N+1+9 alone is already 1.2 million, plus stocks, annual leave discounts, 30,000 yuan cash compensation and employee medical insurance, the cash compensation alone may be as high as 1.5 million. In addition, there is a buffer for 3 months, which means that if you don't work every day, your salary will still be paid, which will also be nearly 200,000.

All of this may add up to more than 1.7 million!

Has it already broken your imagination? But here comes more exaggeration -

Google's compensation standard for layoffs in the United States is as follows: 2N + 2 + 16, as well as stock cashing, annual leave discount, year-end bonus as usual, and 6 months of medical insurance as usual.

Google China layoffs are too much!

If calculated at the same monthly salary, Google will compensate every American employee laid off as much as 2.5 million!

Is there no harm without comparison?

It has to be said that Google, as a beacon of human science and technology development, is still very responsible in illuminating the road of human development.

In this regard, some domestic netizens commented, "sabotage the employment market, it is recommended to report to the labor inspection brigade."
