PlayStation announced a partnership with NBA star LeBron James to introduce new PlayStation 5 accessories designed by the NBA superstar. The partnership includes a new PS5 controller case and a DualSense controller designed by LeBron in collaboration with PlayStation.
The limited edition work contains explanations such as "Nothing Is Given. Everything Is Earned”。 The design also includes an image of a crown, which relates to LeBron and how he became known as "King James". The PS5 case and controller also contain a tribute to LeBron's "I Promise" charity, including the words "Chosen Ones" and "Build.Uplift.Empower."
In a PlayStation blog post, LeBron said: "It's still crazy that an Akron kid who grew up playing games would create something like this. It was really cool to design a handle enclosure and controller with a PlayStation that pays homage to the students in my hometown and where we come from. I hope it continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they will find something interesting and meaning in every detail. ”
The PS5 case and DualSense controller will be available for pre-order via PlayStation Direct later this year. Pricing is not currently announced.
LeBron partnered with PlayStation as part of the PlayStation Playmakers program, which intended for PlayStation to work with celebrities and run a variety of events.
LeBron recently surpassed Klim Abdul Jabbar as NBA's all-time scoring leader. He suffered a foot injury on February 26 and is currently recovering.
