The documentary film "Kensang", shot in honor of the Japanese film master actor Ken Takakura, who died in 2014, recently announced the completion of the production by director Yuichi Hibi, and Chinese director Wu Yusen, Japanese director Yoji Yamada, Yasuo Yamada, Yasuo Umemiya, etc., jointly recalled the story of the cooperation with Ken Takakura.

The film "Kensang" is directed by Yuichi Hibi, starring 20 directors and actors who have worked with Ken Takakura, and trace the aesthetic world of Ken Takakura himself from their words. In addition, world-renowned actors and directors such as Michael Douglas, Jan de Bonter, paul Schrader and so on also appeared on camera.

Among the Japanese directors' cast that was exposed this time, the actors, led by Tatsuo Umemiya, who had spent the Toei era with Ken Takakura, starred in the "Abashiri Fan field" series, and Nakano Ryoko, who played the female lead in the "Abashiri Fan field" series, and the director, Yasuo Shigeki, one of the co-planners of the film, Yoji Yamada, director of "Happy Yellow Handkerchief", and Tadashi Sawajima, director of "Life Theater Speeding Corner", who made Ken Takakura's signature actor.

The documentary tells the real Ken Takakura in the film from the cinematographers of the Toei era to the publicity director and actors who have collaborated with Ken Takakura for more than 40 years. Tatsuo Umemiya said: "When my daughter got married, I received a blessing letter from Ken Takakura, who is a person who does not like to attend gorgeous occasions, but what touched me was that the recipient of the letter wrote my own life, and he carefully checked it and sent it to me by hand. I'm grateful, maybe that's what sets superstars apart from others. ”

In addition, Takaichi Nakai, who first co-starred with Ken Takakura in The Assassin of the Forty-Seven and became a close friend in private, will play the role of reading Ken Takakura's letters in the film; the music for this film is handled by Taro Iwashiro, the music producer of Blood and Bone, and "Cicada Rain", and the title of the film is written by the calligrapher Kitaaki No, who has won the Order of the Rising Sun.

It is reported that "Kensang" will be released nationwide in Japan on August 20 this year.
