On the afternoon of February 28, Bank of Communications held a press conference at the 2023 12th Suzhou Jinji Lake Half Marathon and Grand Canal Marathon Series (Suzhou Station) (hereinafter referred to as "2023 Golden Horse"), and the number of participants in this year's Golden Horse once again returned to 30,000, and will start at 8:30 a.m. on March 12 (Sunday) at Wenbo Square in Suzhou Industrial Park.
The Suzhou Jinji Lake Half Marathon was founded in 2010 and has been successfully held for 11 sessions so far. 2023 Golden Horse is hosted by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau and Suzhou Municipal People's Government, organized by Jiangsu Sports Competition Management Center, Suzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, Suzhou Industrial Park Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Suzhou Huichuang Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd., and technical certification by the Chinese Athletic Association.
The number of participants in this year's Golden Horse has once again returned to the pre-epidemic level of 30,000, including 15,000 participants in the half marathon, 5,000 participants in the short healthy run, and 10,000 participants in the mini fun run. Up to now, the mini fun run quota has been fully registered, the registration for the half marathon and short health run has been closed, and applicants will be notified whether they have won the lottery after the draw.
The biggest change in Jinma in 2023 is to optimize the track, choose the modern and fashionable Suzhou Avenue West, and extend the Jinma Circuit to fully demonstrate the vitality and charm of Huxi CBD. While surrounding the national 5A-level scenic spot - Jinji Lake Scenic Area, the 2023 Golden Horse Race Route also checks in many well-known landmarks in Suzhou, such as Suzhou Center, Oriental Gate, Ligong Causeway, Suzhou Culture and Art Center, etc., integrating the prosperity of the two major CBDs of Hudong and Huxi into the event, so that runners from all over the world can measure the international new city of Suzhou Industrial Park with their footsteps and feel the changes and styles of the park since its development and construction for 29 years.
The medals and uniforms of this year's Golden Horse Race are integrated with Jiangnan cultural elements to display the characteristics of cash horses and Suzhou heritage in multiple dimensions. With the theme of "Fish Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, Good Luck Continues", the medal takes the "Gate of the East" as the background, which means "Dragon Gate", reflecting the beautiful meaning of talents in Suzhou's "Fish Leaping Dragon Gate", and at the same time embellished with Suzhou classical Suzhou-style window flowers, and the hollow design looks at modern Suzhou. The main color of the competition suit is pink, the front pattern is mainly Suzhou initials, the "S" shaped runway runs through the park landmark, and the "Z" shaped Jinji Lake is full of blue waves, combining Suzhou city landmark Jinji Lake, Ferris wheel, Oriental Gate, round sculpture, international financial center and other elements, and with the Suzhou-style folding fan, Taihu stone, flower window, single arch bridge and many other elements representing the characteristics of Jiangnan into a complete picture.
This year's Golden Horse Mini Fun Run also awarded medals. This is the first time that Golden Horse has awarded medals to the runners of the mini run, and all 30,000 runners can receive medals, so that everyone can get a heavy honor of participation.
In 2021, Golden Horse joined the Grand Canal Series for the first time. This year marks the second time Golden Horse has joined the Grand Canal Series, and not only that, but the 2023 Golden Horse will also serve as the first race in this year's Grand Canal Series, kicking off the year's Grand Canal Series events. The opening ceremony of this year's Grand Canal Series will also be held at the same time. Suzhou is an important city in the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, and this year's Grand Canal Series set sail for the first time in Suzhou, and the Golden Horse will become a window to display the characteristic cultural charm of the Grand Canal area, and the connotation of the event will be further enriched.
In 2020, Golden Horse launched the "Running on the Cloud" mini program, which further upgraded its functions and gameplay this year, not only allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the track and various competition settings before the start of the race, but also allowing them to play while practicing and winning more points and prizes. In terms of event informatization and technology, Golden Horse will still launch a series of "Event King" mini programs this year, providing players with a one-click grasp of event information and a convenient query platform on the participants' side, so that players can grasp all event information including collection information, venue settings, track routes and functional sites anytime, anywhere; On the volunteer management side, it provides volunteers with real-time functions such as online work task guidance and work location navigation.
