"Daming under the Microscope" as a 14-episode innovative historical short drama, it has been a week since the end of the membership, but the public's discussion and attention to this drama continues. While having in-depth conversations with Zhang Ruoyun, Wang Yang and the original author and screenwriter Ma Boyong and other leading creators, Bone Duo also set his eyes on the only soft color rich jasper in the whole play, trying to interpret this female image rooted in the male group portrait play.
In a conversation with Ma Boyong a few days ago, he once mentioned, "Feng Biyu is a slightly tragic character, she sacrificed a lot for her family and family business. The character of Feng Biyu has two burdens on his shoulders. One is the Feng family shop, because this is her next career from her parents and cannot collapse here, and the other is her younger brother Feng Baoyu. She actually raised her younger brother as a child, and in the process, Feng Biyu put herself in a realm of selflessness, without reservation. Although it took us too much effort and generations to regain equality between men and women, in the ancient context, Feng Baoyu was her "heaven".
This also caused her to be blunt and slow in her feelings, so that when someone like Cheng Renqing appeared, she couldn't get it. Only when the whole drama is in the finale, Feng Biyu can calm down to calculate an account, inventory goods, feel and release himself a little, I only gave a little girlish feeling through my eyes in this last scene, and the rest of the time was basically as rough and blunt as possible.
Even if she hasn't started a family at this age, it doesn't matter to her. Because she must first see Baoyu do something that makes her feel good in her heart, Feng Biyu can relax a little. Because she is too tight, whether it is muscles, personality or belief, where to hit, there is not much ease in her body except rough and reckless, I feel that she still has to let her occasionally feel a little loose and dashing, so sometimes I may give her a more interesting side and a little humor.
But Feng Biyu is a functional character, there is no waste drama, so each side must be very finely layered. There is a scene in the play where Feng Biyu goes to Fangzhi County to save the two younger brothers with a plan, you will find that in this paragraph, Feng Biyu is not dashing, and she has been walking the business road to associate with people who play official language, which will produce an embarrassing feeling that belongs to Feng Biyu alone.
And although Feng Baoyu and Shuai Jiamo are both younger brothers, blood relatives doom Feng Biyu's bowl of water is bound to be uneven, so there will be a difference when dealing with it, both expecting them to do a big job, but also afraid that something will happen to them, once something really happens, the first thing to pick must be their own treasure jade.

A little red in the green bush, how to point the most appropriate
To be honest, the character of Feng Biyu is not large in the whole play, so the space she can play must be limited, but I hope that she can expand infinitely in the limited space, so I have been thinking, "Feng Biyu, as the only bit of red in this male group drama, should she give full play to her role in the visual aspect of the drama?" For this reason, I also did a lot of discussions with the director, such as whether to use a feminine and rich shape to position "Ham Shih Tzu", or lose weight before I go on camera.
But in fact, if we look for it from the foundation of the character, we will see that like Feng Biyu, on the one hand, there are no parents to rely on, and on the other hand, she has to pull a younger brother to grow up, and on the other hand, she can run the business so well, which proves that she must be rooted in industry. Just like I only played ham for a week, this biceps will rise, and Feng Biyu has been doing these things of "moving, carrying, pickling, and selling" for many years, so it can't be a very thin woman, but needs some sense of strength on the body.
Coupled with the wind and sun all day, smoky fire, the image of fine skin and tender meat does not quite match. Then we discussed whether to blacken the skin, at least darker than my brother Fengbaoyu, but simple black is not very good, less traces of the years of being both a father and a mother and a roughness tempered in the city fireworks, so we thought of putting some freckles on the face, so that the whole person presented in the camera is more real and powerful.
But it's actually a challenge for us and for the audience. Because when everyone gets used to beautiful pictures and characters, and then go back to face the naked reality, it will indeed be a little risky in acceptance. But I don't think Feng Biyu is ugly, she is just trying to fit the true appearance of an ancient toiling woman as much as possible. Women's beauty and strength are not exuded by appearance alone, but from within.
We also struggled with "whether to protect this only beauty", but after repeated discussions, we decided to try to put aside visual concerns and deepen the charm of the characters. However, from the feedback of this show, I myself found that many audiences are actually acceptable, and will give us some encouragement, although there are positive and negative, but I think as long as there is a positive voice, this is the confidence for our creators to dare to take the next step.

Pursue good form or indulge appearance anxiety?
Questioning is difficult
For the appearance of Feng Biyu, there are indeed some "disgusted" voices. In the face of this situation, I cannot completely ignore it. Because in recent years I can always see some pursuit of "good state", and I myself have just given birth to a second child, I need to return to a so-called "best state" and then return to the public, so I have been asking myself recently how to look at this matter.
Now whether it is the uncle circle, the sister circle or some older seniors, everyone is very well maintained, it can be said that it is "anti-aging", which is of course a gratifying phenomenon, because there is no problem in making yourself better through self-discipline. But on the other hand, does this phenomenon also bring some invisible pressure to the general public, making them demanding of themselves in appearance?
In fact, we are out of professional needs, we must leave a good visual impression on the audience, and as artists, we also shoulder a leading role and cannot "rot". But to achieve or maintain a good state is not an easy task, in this process, it takes a lot of mental energy, manpower, material and financial resources, which for ordinary people, if a certain party conditions can not be met, it may cause a lot of pressure.
In fact, don't say that the public is anxious, I am a little anxious, this is my truest state of mind. Because everyone seems to have entered a very volatile state now, it seems that they have to concentrate on rolling up the "first glance" and then talking about the inner things. All voices were saying, "Look how they are 40 years old and still in the same state as they are 20 years old."
So I finally decided to lose my appearance in the role of Feng Biyu and let her true state emerge from the inside, but also to see if I could make some people breathe a sigh of relief in the pursuit of the so-called good state, and there was still such a small ambition.
But I'm also hesitant about it. No matter what kind of state to pursue, there is actually nothing wrong with it, you can use many paths to make yourself better, but there are too many voices about state anxiety at the moment, and we will inevitably be affected when we are in it. But in the end, it depends on your own choices, living happily is more important, and if you spend energy on filling the inside, you will also be happy.

Live life as a "drill surface"
This time, I saw many people say that I had acted in ancient costumes for a long time, and I also had a feeling that my eyes were filled with tears when I mentioned this. Because my own production is not very high, I must find a character or story that I like very much before I will act, but the market test is inertia, once you are good at a certain type of theme, it will be very easy to receive similar content after that.
I am also a person who needs surprises, needs a lot of unexpected or special things to happen in life, which will give me a sense of awakening. At that time, when I found "Daming" in a bunch of books, I was immediately interested, although it did not give Feng Biyu many scenes, but this kind of historical science theme and short drama narrative gave me a sense of freshness. Therefore, in the part of taking over the play, I also hope that everyone can see more aspects of me through my choice of script.
I can't act for the sake of acting, but this doesn't mean that I don't like acting or costumes, but I think that costume dramas leave more room for actors to create and germinate than modern dramas that require a relaxed state that fits life. In fact, I also filmed two costume dramas "Mousheng Ghost Guzi" and "New Dragon Gate Inn" before "Daming", but I may not be able to meet you for various reasons.
I will have a lot of regrets in my own heart, because each role has put a lot of effort into it, and I am not acting completely for self-hilarity, but I still hope to be seen by everyone and get some feedback. Just like this broadcast of "Daming", I have some opportunities to interact with the audience, which is what I find very attractive about being an actor.
It's just that I wish I could live my life as a drill. So for singing, acting, variety shows, live broadcasts, etc., everything that allows me to see more possibilities in myself, I want to experience and try. It's not that I go on variety shows or do live broadcasts to live up to the identity of actors and singers, the accumulation of the past is there, and the original territory may continue to expand in other interactions between me and the audience and in my life. I'm never afraid to open up any new tracks because I know that once I decide to do it, I'm going to do my best instead of playing tickets.
In the past few years, it seems that everyone in the entertainment industry has been cautious in their words and deeds. It's not as lax as it used to be, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, because as a public figure, you really need to be more thoughtful about your words and actions. In the meantime, we also have more time to reflect on ourselves, stop to adjust and breathe, and that's okay.
