The Ministry of Education held a press conference on October 26, inviting a number of relevant departments to introduce the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents. According to the relevant person in charge of the National Health Commission at the meeting, after the efforts of the past three years, the early onset of myopia in children and adolescents in China has been alleviated to a certain extent, and the development of low-grade myopia has slowed down into high myopia. At the same time, there are still many difficulties and blockages in the prevention and control of myopia, the problem of myopia and young age is still prominent, the risk factors affecting vision health are still widespread, and the awareness and supervision of parents are not enough, and it still needs the joint efforts of all parties in society.
In the next step, the National Health Commission will be problem-oriented and go all out to promote the implementation of various measures for the prevention and control of myopia. First, based on early detection and early intervention, ensure that the annual coverage rate of eye care and vision examination for children aged 0-6 reaches more than 90%, and gradually promote the establishment of electronic files and information construction of vision health. The second is to expand the typical demonstration effect, continue to promote the 183 pilot districts and counties to try first, "one belt and one belt", start the implementation of the second batch of pilot work, and pay attention to the role of traditional Chinese medicine characteristic technologies and methods in the prevention and control of myopia. The third is to strengthen professional support, comprehensively strengthen monitoring and evaluation, and strive to achieve full coverage of monitoring in counties (districts) within the jurisdiction in 2021 on the basis of full coverage at the prefectural and municipal levels. The fourth is to give full play to the joint force of health supervision, carry out random supervision and spot checks of schools, childcare institutions, and off-campus training institutions, and sample classroom lighting and other compliance. Work with relevant departments to effectively strengthen supervision and law enforcement, standardize myopia correction services, and pay close attention to the implementation of prevention and control goals and responsibilities. The fifth is to carry out all-round social mobilization, hold the second summit forum, develop a popular science library for the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents, publicize typical and excellent cases, and form an atmosphere. The sixth is to comprehensively promote school health work, strengthen the construction of the team, successively establish the school health team of the disease prevention and control institutions in various cities and counties, take the prevention and control of myopia as a breakthrough, and make simultaneous efforts in the prevention and control of obesity, psychology, scoliosis and other diseases, and comprehensively promote the health of children and adolescents.
