Southeast Asian beauty pageants are hot, but they are not blown blindly.
For example, in Thailand, there are 77 provinces, and each province will organize various beauty contests. Then, the champions of each province are aggregated, participate in the national competition, and then determine the national beauty pageant champion.
The same is true in the Philippines, where there are also various beauty contests in the provinces.
Today we will take a look at one of the provinces of the Philippines, La Unión, to see the Miss Province pageant in this province. It is not part of the Miss Universe Division, nor is it the Miss World Division, it is a separate beauty pageant in the province and is not part of any international beauty pageant.
Miss La Union (Mutia Ti La Union in Irocano) is an annual beauty pageant held in the province of La Unión in the Philippines. It began in 2002, on the anniversary of the founding of the province (March 2, 1850). So basically this day every year is the coronation day of Miss Lauignon.
Likewise, the Miss La Unión 2023 pageant is underway and the final will be held on March 2, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the municipality of San Fernando (56 kilometers from Manila).
Samantha Bernardo, runner-up in the Miss Nations 2020 pageant, will serve as moderator.
The Miss Launium 2023 contestant has a total of 20 contestants.
Let's take a look.
As you can see from the pictures, these contestants are all wearing costumes made of newspapers, plastic bags, beverage tubes, waste textile bags, packaging boxes, and other materials, in response to environmental protection and sustainable development, which are very important for social construction.
In addition, it can be seen from these photos that the real Filipino aborigines, their facial features generally tend to be mediocre, unlike those contestants in the Miss Universe Philippines and Miss World competitions, because the latter two will have many mixed race contestants.
