On September 18, 1970, the greatest guitarist in rock history, Jimmy Hendricks, died young

Before him, the electric guitar had never been so explosive, never so sexy, and he had the greatest influence in the history of rock and roll. His unparalleled talent, spiritual music, rich guitar expressiveness, wild live performances were unique in the 60s when mainstream bands like the Beatles and Rolling Stones dominated; as a black man, Jimmy's audience was almost all white, and he was the first black singer to win all white listeners; there is a saying that Jimmy pushed the strings, and we practiced the piano for twenty years. Man and man are one, and no one in the future can reach his height, so for God.

In just four years of his artistic career, Jimmy has created a large number of excellent rock and roll works, and his musical styles are colorful and constantly changing, including blues, folk songs, rhythm and blues, rock, jazz... He creates music while also changing it.

He redefined the instrument, bringing with him the sound effects available to create a sense of sound like never before. Jimmy is left-handed, and he plays the "right-hand guitar" with his left hand, reversing it all from the first to the sixth. Jimmy also interpreted the traditional 12 bars of blues into new forms beyond the imagination of others, and became the first rock musician to play all electro-acoustic devices, not just guitars, as instruments, marking a shift in musical thinking.

He debuted a few months ago to become a worldwide rock star, he redefined the sound effects and live gameplay of electric guitar, his music has influenced countless rock guitarists of the same era and later generations, it is no exaggeration to say that without jimi there would be no big development of hard rock and psychedelic rock in the late 60s and the birth of heavy metal in the 70s, and the prosperity of rock music will lag by 10 years or more or simply develop in another direction.

Hendricks' controversial and at-the-time natural style can be summed up in his passionate performance of guitars in Never Fall that mimics the sounds of war, including machine gun sounds, bombing, and people's screams.

Hendricks was born in 1942 in Seattle, Washington. Jimmy's pedigree is complex, his father is a Cherokee of Irish descent and his mother is a mixed-black and white. She instilled a strong notion in Hendricks that he should be proud to have native American Indian ancestry. Hendricks' grandparents were both vaudevillers.

His parents divorced in 1951 and his mother died the following year.

Hendricks was quite sensitive and shy as a child. Jimmy's father was a music lover who preferred jazz and blues because of his black Indian ancestry. Jimmy began listening to his father's records from an early age, and in addition to listening to rock and roll and R&B-style songs on the radio.

Hendricks loved Elvis Presley so much that when he was fifteen years old, in 1957, he watched Elvis Presley's concert at Seattle's 'Sick's' Stadium on September 1, and two months later he created a watercolor painting of Elvis playing guitar.

His father bought a wooden guitar for Hendricks for $5 and has been on the path of music ever since.

Jimmy began forming his first band, Velvetones, and during the actual rehearsal, Jimmy discovered that his acoustic guitar sound was completely overshadowed by other instruments, so he had the idea of buying an electric guitar.

In 1959, Jimmy's father finally bought Jimmy an electric guitar, and he began playing tickets in various nameless underground bands.

In 1961, Jimmy was prosecuted for being found twice in a stolen car. There were two paths ahead of him, either to go to jail or to join the army. Jimmy chose the latter. During his time in the army, he met his later partner, BillyCox.

After graduating from secondary school, Jimmy lived a wandering life with a guitar on his back for several years.

In the summer of 1966, Chas Chandler "spotted" him at a club in Greenwich Village, New York, and Chas Chandler immediately signed Jimmy to a contract. After finding bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell, the trio formed the band "The Jimi Hendrix Experience".

In 1966, Jimmy and the band traveled to England to begin their artistic career. The band did extensive recordings and live performances at the BBC Broadcasting Company. Once, in a recording studio on the third basement floor, the producer was stunned by the loud noise of Jimmy's guitar, and there was a string quartet in the concert hall of Radio 3 above the two floors, who was interrupted by Jimmy's guitar and ran down to complain. On one occasion, Jimmy performed in a recording studio on the fourth floor, and his guitar sound went from the fourth floor to the first floor, and people in the building kept coming up to complain.

After releasing the singles "Hey Joe" and "Purpls Haze" under Polydor, the band released their first album, Are You Experienced, in May 1967. The English, accustomed to relatively subtle and quiet music, were fascinated by this unrestrained, warm and primitive rock 'n' roll.

The band became famous almost overnight, and Hendricks attracted a great deal of attention from the British pop music scene. Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend watched all of his shows.

In the summer of 1967, he successfully toured Europe and recorded the singles Hey Joe and Purple Haze.

He became a hit with a blues adaptation of "Hey Joe." Critics were furious, and a new guitar god finally merged the Blues wave— especially Elmore James's faction— with psychedelic rock.

In May 1967, the album "Have You Experienced It?" The record is second only to the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which is at number one on the UK Albums Chart.

Shortly after the album's release, the band went to the United States to attend the Montreal Music Festival, and Americans were completely overwhelmed by Jimmy's superb guitar playing skills and colorful typhoons.

Many rock celebrities quickly became big listeners to Jimmy at the time, and Michael Nesmith of The Monkees recalled, "One day I had dinner with Eric Clapton, George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and others. Lennon took out a tape and said, 'You must hear this,' and he played HeyJoe. Listening to such superb and wonderful rock music, everyone was so impressed and surprised that even their jaws dropped. It was at this point that Jimmy's rock 'n' roll completely changed our musical philosophy. ”

Jimmy, who has a strong appeal in the United Kingdom and the United States and has become a world-class master, has successively released two albums, "Axis: Bold As Love" and "Electric Ladyland", and held tours to promote these two records, which caused a sensation everywhere.

In 1967, Jimmy and the band returned to the United States. The following year he set up his own recording studio, Electric Lady Studio, in New York.

Due to the band's touring and studio work, the team members could not concentrate on the creation, and in 1969, the band "Experience" disbanded. However, in this year, Jimmy's fame also reached the peak of his life, and it was also in this year that he ushered in one of the most famous performances of his career, the Woodstock Music Festival in August.

At this classic music festival that is still talked about by fans, Jimmy found Billy Cox and other musical partners to form the band "Gypsy Sun & Rainbows". As the festival organizers forgot to pick them up in a hurry, Jimmy rented a helicopter and went straight to the scene, and the crazy fans were ecstatic and welcomed them from the sky.

Jimmy has undoubtedly been the eye-catching focal point of the festival, and he has unleashed his musical talents on stage to satisfy the tens of millions of enthusiastic spectators who have been baptized by the storm and rolling in the mud. And he is also the highest paid artist in this performance, and many rock and roll veterans can not compare with him.

Since 1969, Jimmy's musical style has undergone a major change, and the music he creates has begun to move closer to his own race. After the Woodstock Festival, Jimmy and Billy Cox formed the all-black band "Band of Gypsys" to perform at New Year's concerts and other occasions.

In 1970, Jimmy i got back drummer Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox as bassist to produce the album First Rays Of The New Rising Sun under the name of The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

That same year Jimmy traveled to Europe with The Cry Of Love and produced his last record. On his way to Europe, Jimmy paused in London.

Unfortunately, however, Jimmy was unable to witness the album, and on September 18, 1970, Jimmy was suffocated by his own vomit due to a drug overdose, and the next morning his girlfriend found him unconscious, and he was suffocated when the ambulance arrived, Jimmy was only 27 years old. Doctors diagnosed it as an overdose of psychedelics.

After the news came out, the fans fell into great grief. Just four years after his career, at the peak of his career, it is a pity that he died so suddenly.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) was born in Seattle, Washington. American guitarist, singer, and composer, recognized as the greatest electric guitar player in the history of rock music.
