Hamilton has just unveiled a special edition of the "Jazzmaster Regulator Cinema" timepiece layout watch, designed with film discs inspired by film projectors, paying homage to the brand's historical ties to cinema art – and since 1932's Shanghai Express, Hamilton watches have appeared in 450 films.

The new dial has a timer layout and is a very rare asymmetrical type – the hour and second dials are located at 10 o'clock/5 o'clock respectively, instead of the traditional 12 o'clock/6 o'clock. A central hand indicates the minute, and the readings of the two sub-dials are presented by the red triangles on their concentric gears. The two gears slowly rotate at work, like the film roulette wheel of an old-fashioned movie projector.
The matte black grained dial creates the darkness of the film screening, and the 2-point film pattern is decorated with a white film pattern, and the film tape pattern decoration on the transparent base can also be seen when flipped to the back.
The 42mm stainless-steel case is equipped with the H-12 self-winding movement and has a power reserve of 38 hours.
Paired with a black leather strap, it is available in a limited edition of 999 pieces. The official price is 1195 Swiss francs.
