[Twitter updates developer terms: explicitly does not allow the development of third-party clients] #Twitter explicitly does not allow the development of third-party clients#
Twitter recently released an update to the Developer Agreement, which explicitly does not allow developers to continue to develop third-party Twitter applications. It is explicitly mentioned in the terms that developers are not allowed to "create alternative or similar services/products for the Twitter App".
This means that third-party Twitter apps such as Tweetbot, Twitterrific, Aviary, Echofon, and Birdie are no longer functional, and it's unclear whether these third-party clients will be able to restore access in the future.
Twitter officials quietly adjusted the API last Thursday, resulting in a large number of third-party clients not working properly. Officials tweeted on January 18, saying, "Twitter is enforcing its long-standing API rules. This may cause some applications to not run".
During this process, the developers of the third-party client never received any notification from Twitter or an official letter requesting closure. Twitter has never even clarified which APIs were violated. (@IT House) #Twitter正式禁用第三方客户端 #
