In 1927, Ding Xianguo was only 18 years old, because of the oppression, he joined the revolutionary team without hesitation, joined the Red Guards in his hometown, and later participated in the Jute Uprising, during which he received education in new ideas, discarded the dregs, and embarked on the road of revolution with many people with lofty ideals.
In November of the following year, Ding Xianguo entered the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and then naturally joined the Communist Party of China, and since then, Ding Xianguo's revolutionary cause has officially begun a new chapter. Ding Xianguo rose to prominence during the agrarian revolution and rose through the ranks, he did not have excellent knowledge reserves, but with his enthusiasm and indomitable fighting spirit, he had a pivotal position in the army.
By the time of the Anti-Japanese War, although the scale of battles in which Ding Xianguo participated was small, he still cherished the hard-won opportunity, and his subordinates led him repeatedly achieved battle merits, won many victories, and never slacked off. Later, during the Liberation War, Ding Xianguo came to the Jin-Hebei Military Region to hold an important post and made great contributions to the revolutionary cause.
Later, after the cruel baptism of war, New China was finally founded, we were no longer oppressed, no longer bullied, these ancestors who made great achievements in the war were also rewarded, Ding Xianguo became a political commissar, and in the later period, New China rectified and reorganized the army, and his unit was also removed, and the Party Central Committee let him come to the logistics unit. Although he came to the logistics unit, Ding Xianguo did not feel indebted to himself, he still took his work seriously, but the real test for him had not yet begun, until the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea began, Ding Xianguo finally showed his true talent.
In 1950, North Korea launched an army to unify South Korea, South Korea asked the United States to help, the American army all the way to the Yalu River, the Soviet Union did not want to take care of things, North Korea asked China for help, asked for troops. The United States is fighting North Korea in order to indirectly control China through North Korea's territory and threaten the security of China's border territories.
The so-called "soldiers and horses go first before moving food and grass." Ding Xianguo, who was in charge of logistics support, was well aware of this truth, and Ding Xianguo was appointed as the head of the second branch of the logistics department of the volunteer army, responsible for logistics matters. The well-known Battle of Shangganling and the Battle of Jincheng were all logistics units under the responsibility of Ding Xianguo. Because of this achievement, Ding Xianguo was awarded the title of major general at the conferral ceremony in 1955, when he was only 46 years old.

Later, Ding Xianguo was also rehabilitated, but for the treatment of his official reinstatement, Ding Xianguo refused, he was accustomed to a simple life, set an example, practice thrift, and implement a good life style. During the most difficult period in New China, Ding Xianguo even picked up rags and weaved straw shoes to donate, because he knew very well that the poor had a very difficult life, and he wanted to bring a better life to the people through his own meager strength.
In those years, people could always see an old man in rags picking up rags and selling money day after day, but no one knew that this was Ding Xianguo, a founding major general who had made combat achievements. It was not until 2001, when Ding Xianguo died and people cremated him, that they found that there were still three pieces of shrapnel left in his body, but he never mentioned this matter to anyone, such a founding general is worth remembering forever.
