We saw at the scene that teacher Chen Youyin was holding a piece of red paper in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other, and with the flow of clouds between his fingers, vivid paper-cutting works were presented in front of everyone's eyes, with beautiful window flowers, festive spring characters, miscellaneous blessing characters, and many other works placed on the side.
Paper-cutting art is one of the oldest Han folk arts in mainland China, its history can be traced back to the Western Han period BC, it is a kind of openwork art, it visually gives people a feeling of transparency and artistic enjoyment. Especially during festive or wedding celebrations, people paste beautiful and colorful paper cuts on windows, walls, doors and lanterns at home, so the festive atmosphere is more enthusiastic, so it was also included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006, and in 2009 it was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which protects intangible heritage.
Although Tongnan paper-cutting art is not a national intangible cultural heritage, but also has a long history, during which a large number of excellent paper-cutting works have emerged, Yufan's friend Teacher Zhang Jian is a very excellent paper-cutting teacher, often popularize paper-cutting art in various primary schools, did not expect to see a great paper-cutting artist in the intangible cultural heritage booth of Shuangjiang, according to the on-site understanding, Mr. Chen Youyin is a primary school teacher, but also a member of the Chinese Folk Artists Association, a member of the paper-cutting committee of the China Culture Promotion Association, and a representative inheritor of Tongnan paper-cutting.
According to Mr. Chen, he began to learn calligraphy, painting and paper-cutting in 1984, and has a history of nearly 40 years ago, not only his works have won many national and municipal paper-cutting competitions, but also tutored many students to win awards at all levels.
As the non-genetic inheritor of Tongnan paper-cutting, Mr. Chen Youyin has created many local themed paper-cuttings, such as Fenjin Square, Shuangjiang Ancient Town, Tongnan Big Buddha Temple, Fujiang Bridge, Chen Lu's Hometown and other iconic buildings and landscapes, as well as local celebrity story series.
In addition, he also cut out large-scale paper-cutting works such as "Great National Unity", "The Complete Collection of Disciple Rules (a total of 90 pieces, up to 90 meters long)", "Qingming Shanghe Map (up to 5 meters long)", "The Complete Collection of Three Character Classics (a total of 96 pieces, up to 35 meters)" and other large-scale paper-cutting works, and has successively won more than 50 national, provincial and municipal awards such as the gold medal of paper-cutting at the China Folk Art Fair, the silver medal of the National Paper-cutting Competition of "A Century of Glory, Paper Art Huazhang", many works have been collected by the China Paper-cutting Museum and other museums, and he said that more works will be created in the future.
