Angela Dorothea Merkel, the current German Chancellor, grew up in East Germany, where the planned economy was short of supplies, her father was a priest, her mother was originally a foreign language teacher, and after marrying her father, she became a full-time housewife, and Merkel grew up in this environment. She studied Russian diligently from an early age and represented East Germany in the World Russian Language Competition at the age of 9. When Merkel accompanied Chancellor De Mechier to an international conference in 1990, she was favored for her excellent Russian language and soon entered the cabinet, officially starting the peak of her life. Nelson Roryhlahella Mandela, former President of South Africa, known as the "Father of the Nation of South Africa". The only child in his family to attend school, Mandela began his political career at the age of 30, fighting for half a century against white racist rule in South Africa. In 1962, the racial regime, with the help of the CIA, arrested Mandela and did not release him unconditionally until 1990, four years after becoming the first black president in the general election.
