Years of Walking Abroad 23 - Food, Shelter and Travel in Algiers

author:Xikou Lao Zhao

Let's start with my work! As I said before, in 2015, under the influence of Henan Gu teacher's "the world is so big I want to see", maybe there are still factors in my body that my ancestors went to the west entrance, I gave up my stable organ work, left the company where I worked for many years, and decided to do a north drift! As a result, the north drift did not take it, I became a sea drift, as a children's song sings: it is tens of thousands of miles to go! Within two days of working in Beijing, I received an order from the company: Bolivia! That's right, that side of the Earth (through the center of the earth). It's really bad, I want to be a north drift, how can I be a sea drifter? Still drifting that far? Open the bow where there is a turning back arrow, take it! Riding the capital's bus every day, making up for the Spanish I have never seen before, the Spring Festival has not been good. As a result, when I went to work after the holiday, the leader said that South America is too far away, so let's go to Africa, it's better to get closer. Then Spanish quickly changed to Portuguese, dangling for a month, the leader said, don't go to Africa, go to Dubai, that's much closer to China! I thought I would have to wait more than a month, but I was notified to go abroad immediately within a week, because the UAE is visa-free for Chinese! No, 2 or 3 months took me around to 3 or 4 countries, and finally settled in Algeria, North Africa.

In addition to work, there are only three things that can be paid attention to in the years abroad!

The company has an employee canteen, and the chef is also from China, so the daily meal is still very good. This aspect seems to be similar after going abroad (friends are also in Africa, belonging to another big company). Dubai is a rented apartment, 7,8 people crammed into a not very large apartment; Although Sudan has a large HOUSE, only 1 colleague lives there; Niger is also a big house, but the conditions are very average; Algiers rented a full yard, which was relatively nice. In terms of travel, there are many reasons, we go out to have a car, and the company is still fully equipped in this regard.

The company's headquarters moved to Algiers, in fact, there is not much change, and those who stay in Dubai are not willing to come, and I must come, keep up with the pace of leadership! The promises before coming out also fell short in the subsequent institutional reforms, and 2016 was really tiring. The headquarters decided to reform the organization, first take us, two companies of different countries had to merge together, and as a result, let the small fish eat the big fish, even the chef knew: a northwest Africa, is to drink the northwest wind wow! Later, as this turned out, the merger was unsuccessful, and a few years later it was dissolved and each office was established. Of course, this is already the story of my departure and beyond.

Let go of those unhappy things, come out, see more, see more than anything!

Let's take a look at my stay first:

Algeria, finally have a normal bed.

Let's talk about the line: as I said before, Dubai is Daben and Touareg, domestic very expensive cars are very cheap abroad, so cheap that people can't believe it, two cars are less than RMB 50 W, speaking of which, I feel that Dubai people drive really fast! Although Niger has only one colleague, there are two cars, which were purchased there when the Sudan Company was before, both of which are bullhead mark, off-road + sedan. Niger uses the car of the cooperative unit, the desert king of the larger bull's head. In Algeria, the company bought a Volkswagen pickup truck, a comfortable pickup: Amarok. Of course, there are also 3 cars that rent locals, and although PSA Peugeot Citroën has a hard time living at home, in Algeria, French cars are the protagonists.

Jiel A: After searching for a long time, I didn't find the full picture of Amarok, only this one.

Haha, one life, eat and drink for a lifetime. Let's take a look at what to eat:

The food in Dubai may not be cheap because the country is not cheap, so what can be eaten in the mouth is still a little ordinary. Before leaving, the chef also made a hot pot.

Fondue before going to Sudan

When it comes to eating in Sudan, here is an inspirational story: since the Sudan project has only one colleague, there are not many gangs to cook, either to eat out or to deal with it yourself. Instead, I was taken to specialty restaurants during my time in Sudan. And this story begins with this bowl of noodles: the boss is very young, finished college in China, ran to Khartoum for graduate school, and then opened a Chinese noodle restaurant next to the school, although the price is more expensive than the domestic is also the reason, northwesterners can run abroad to start a business, it is really not easy, like!

Haha, the piece I made is not a knife noodles.

Niger's partner unit uses Sichuan chefs, and the taste of the dishes is still OK. There are not many dishes in Niger, but the animal husbandry is fine, so every day there will be meat, big meat, big pieces of meat!

Chicken wings.

Hehe, in Algeria, the chef is also from Sichuan, and Master Xu seems to be from Chengdu, but after working in the company for a long time, the taste has also been adjusted, and not all dishes are very spicy. The company still has a lot of northerners, not all like to eat chili.

In the back garden of Europe (France), how can this be missing?

The company is still good in terms of eating, there are recipes every day, under normal circumstances, the chef can cook according to the recipes, and there is milk and fruit every day. A phrase on our lips: I don't want to go home when I'm full!
