"In My Father's Cave"

On April 11th, the "New Zealand Film Week of Spring Breeding Silver Fern" was held in Shanghai New Zealand Window. At the event, the organizers announced that seven films rooted in New Zealand's local culture will be screened from April 21 to April 30, showing the innovative ideas and unique perspectives of New Zealand film creators.

The Shanghai Arts Film Alliance and the New Zealand Film Council have selected seven masterpieces rooted in New Zealand's local culture for Shanghai audiences, which will be screened from 21 April to 30 April, each of which shows the innovative ideas and unique perspectives of New Zealand film creators, including: Anthony Bergeron. Hopkins starred in the inspirational biographical film "The World's Fastest Indian Motorcycle"; the brisk and delicately narrated Maori Boy; the whimsical "Little Fresh" romantic comedy "The Eagle and the Shark"; and the "Piano Lesson" director Jane Lee. Campion directs and tells the story of legendary New Zealand female writer Janet Campion. Freim's biographical film "Angels at the Table with Me"; "The Thirteen-Year-Old Rain", which depicts the worries of adolescent girls; the suspense literary film "In My Father's Cave", and the Chinese female director Ross Anne Lee. Liang directed "My Wedding and Other Secrets", which explores the Chinese-style parent-child relationship and the collision of Chinese and Western cultures.

"The films selected this time range from comedies that embody a Sense of New Zealand-inspired humor to dramas that explore the topics of family, love and career." Ms. Ge Gannan, Consul General of New Zealand in Shanghai, said at the press conference. Speaking about the cooperation between China and New Zealand, Ms. Ge Gannan said, "New Zealand is the first country to sign a film and television cooperation agreement with China at the same time. The bilateral agreement on film cooperation was signed in 2010 and the bilateral agreement on television cooperation was signed in 2014.
