There are two commemorative stamps of the Chinese zodiac sign of the rabbit, designed by French Chinese artist Chen Jianghong. One is postage for 1.16 euros with a pink background against a prone white rabbit, and the other is 1.80 euros with a full moon on a blue background against a standing jade rabbit. The words "Year of the Rabbit" are written on the top and bottom of the stamps in French and Chinese respectively.
Philippe Val, CEO of La Poste, said at the ceremony that France Post publishes Chinese zodiac stamps every year, now in its nineteenth year. The French Post celebrates the Chinese New Year in this way every year, paying tribute to Chinese civilization with sincerity and practicality.

Chinese Ambassador to France Lu Shaye said in a speech at the stamp issuance ceremony that 2023 is the year of the rabbit, and the rabbit elf is cute, symbolizing well-behaved gentleness and quick wit. The rabbit that can always jump in the face of obstacles also embodies the positive energy of Chinese constantly overcoming difficulties and surpassing themselves. Looking forward to 2023, China-France relations will surely make rapid progress and write a new chapter.
Also on sale on the same day was the first day cover of the commemorative stamp of the Year of the Rabbit, which attracted many local French philatelic enthusiasts to buy at the launch ceremony.

In 2005, La Poste issued for the first time a commemorative stamp of the Chinese Lunar Year of the Rooster in collaboration with Chinese and French artists.
