A woman from abroad went to the supermarket to buy vegetables, and after returning home, she iced the vegetables together with the plastic bag into the refrigerator, but when she took it out 9 days later to use it, she found that there was an "uninvited guest" in the plastic bag, and after 9 days of "cold training", she was still alive and well.

According to Mirror, Katherine Bacon, a 32-year-old woman in the United Kingdom, took out spinach she bought nine days ago to spare when she was preparing a meal, and found a lizard in a plastic bag. Although Catherine thought the lizard was dead, she screamed in fright, and her husband rushed into the kitchen to see if something had happened to his wife.

Catherine's husband, James, said he heard his wife shouting, "What the hell!" , rushed into the kitchen. The lizard was lying motionless on the plastic bag, they all thought the lizard was dead, James poked the lizard, and it suddenly moved, probably sleeping because it was too cold.

James joked that now they not only eat spinach, but also a pet. However, the two did not really want to leave the lizard as a pet, but sent it to the RSPCA reptile rescue center in Brighton Township.

The person in charge of the rescue center said that after inspection and quarantine, it was found that the lizard's health was very good, and many European animals would enter a state similar to hibernation every winter, and the lizard entered this "hibernation-like state" to survive in the refrigerator.

The person in charge said that lizards are not suitable for captivity, so usually rescue centers will put rescued reptiles in fences close to their native environment. But because the lizard has been kept in captivity, it cannot return to its natural environment and will be adopted as a pet by volunteers at the rescue center.

Lido Supermarket, which sells "lizard spinach", also apologized to the two. The spokesperson said that the company hopes to provide customers with the highest quality products, and will contact suppliers and ask the quality assurance department to follow up.
