Five minutes to read
The so-called disconnection:
It is to cut off things that are never needed, to give up excess waste, to leave the attachment to things.
The initiator of the renunciation
A Japanese writer, she was originally very good at tidying up, until she went to the temple on a trip, and as soon as she entered the door, she felt refreshed, and after careful research, she found that this was because there was no "unnecessary thing" in the temple.
The concept of disconnection
It was completely different from the storage technique (which refers to sorting by sorting), which was popular in Japan at the time, and it was a process from addition to subtraction.
In the disconnection, the protagonist is not "the object", but "himself", so deciding whether to discard the item is not to think "this item may be used, so stay", but "I want to use it now, so stay". The difference between the two is that thinking from the object, you will think that the future may come in handy, and finally you can't throw it away; Thinking from myself, implicit "now", will I use it now? If not, just throw it away.
The purpose of renunciation
It is not to tidy up the space, but through the process of selecting and organizing items, get rid of the attachment to the objects and understand yourself. We've grouped the steps to break up into 4 phases, allowing you to reduce your belongings and get back to a simple and refreshing life in 8 weeks.

1~2 weeks of disengagement plan:
Self-examination
The essence of tidying up is not to throw away, but to decide what is important.
In weeks 1 and 2 of your disengagement plan, take a moment to figure out what's really important to you and what your life looks like. Write down your ideal day's things to do, and then list what items will be used for each event. For example, an ideal day is spent in the morning drinking coffee, walking and practicing English, so the essentials are a coffee machine and coffee cup, light clothing and shoes, and an English study book. Through the practice of listing the required items, you can check the importance of the items
Writing down every hour what you do and whether you are thinking about other things at the moment (thinking about other things means that you are not satisfied in your heart), you can directly or indirectly discover the ideal life situation.

3~4 weeks of disengagement plan:
Think about what is needed and what is not
Once you know what you will use in your ideal life, you must distinguish between what you need and what you don't need. When choosing whether to stay or not, you can ask 6 questions so that the psychology will not produce too much resistance.
- Repurchase thinking: If I lose it, will I buy another one? Only leave items that will definitely be rebought.
- Traveler's Thinking: What do I bring with me on a long-term trip? Only the items that are really needed will be taken with you.
- Auction thinking: If someone wants to buy from me, am I willing to sell? Items willing to sell = items that are not needed.
- Retrospective thinking: If I went back to the day I bought it, would I still buy it? If not, make a "Never buy again" list for future shopping reference.
- Rich Thinker: If I had enough money, would I buy this? Stop being attracted to unnecessary or unused items, leaving only the best items that are really needed.
- Restraining impulsive thinking: As long as you resist not buying a few times, you can buy what you want? How can the time and money saved by not doing it be used?

5~6 weeks of disengagement plan:
Discard, tidy
In the following 5th and 6th weeks, the discarding and finishing period officially begins. "Finishing Power, Determine Your Life Freedom" points out that the morning is the peak of human judgment, so when it comes to cleaning, it is recommended to tidy up before noon. The following principles may be followed in the case of renunciation:
(dot plot can be enlarged)
Method 1: 6 into the storage principle
In order to make it easy to take out and put back items, only 60% of space can be used when storing, just like the display of goods in a store. If you need to organize and clean frequently, you can only put it to 40%.
If the storage type is distinguished, the invisible storage space, visible storage space and display storage space are used as the benchmark for 70%, 50%, and 1 as the reference for the total amount of storage items.
Method 2: Limit the quantity
There are no need to have 3 things with the same function, and the bath towel only needs to be alternate, which can reduce the number of items held; Choosing items that have both functions is also another way.
Method 3: Empty Zone
Set up a buffer zone for things you don't know where to put them, count them once a day, see if you want to throw them away, give them away, or help him find a home, the focus is to tidy it up and clear it every day.
Method 4: 5 seconds tidy up homing
Make it a rule that you have to put the item back in place within 5 seconds after you finish using it, so decide the exact location of the item first. If the item does not have a suitable positioning space, it can only be discarded.

7~8 weeks of disengagement plan:
Make it a habit
After reducing items, people will have new feelings, want to continue to maintain, in addition to adhering to the principle of disconnection, but also develop the habit of tidying up, organized life, in order to make you do more of what you want to do.
Break away from good habit 1: Photos suggest
Take a picture of the environment that is closest to the ideal state after tidying up, and print it out and paste it in a conspicuous place on the wall. Whenever the environment at home deviates slightly, it can immediately detect and return to the original state.
Break away from good habits 2: Organize with your hands
Discipline yourself, for example, to wipe the mirror after every brushing of your teeth. Instead of waiting for the environment to get dirty and then cleaning from scratch, develop the habit of cleaning by hand, and there is less burden when cleaning.
Break away from good habit 3: one in and two out
For each additional thing, the existing two things are discarded. In this way, not only will the total number of items be automatically reduced, but you will also become more cautious when buying things, thinking about whether the items in front of you are really needed, and whether they are worth exchanging with the two existing items.
To sum up, disengagement is not a new concept, in different era backgrounds, there are similar movements rising, but the core is to tell everyone: get rid of hoarding, don't fall into comparison, keep the surplus to have freedom, have freedom to live happily.
