When I wrote the Viper V3 review two months ago, many friends in the comment area asked me how to choose the two flagships of Viper V2 and Viper V3?
These two mice are mainly the ultimate lightweight process, and have a highly versatile mold design, it is indeed difficult to judge which mouse is suitable for you from the parameters.
This caused my friends who bought Viper V2 around me to think about buying another Viper V3 every day to play. People who bought Viper V3 also think about buying a poisonous Viper V2 every day to try the feel.
Today I will analyze what grip these two mice are suitable for from the area when several mainstream grips are in contact with the palm and mouse, and try to answer this difficult question for you.

Grip
Let's start with the grip and then move on.
The tummy grip is the largest group of players, and it is also a grip that both mice are compatible with. However, although compatible, the two mice have a very different feel when gripped.
The most obvious difference between the two mice in the mold is height.
The Viper V2 is 38 mm tall and the Viper V3 is 44 mm high.
Although you look at the height of 6mm, 6mm is two completely different feel for the feeling.
For gripping players who touch the mouse with the back of their palms, the height of Viper V2 is a bit too low.
When you put your hand up, the entire middle of the palm is completely suspended, only the palm root touches the mouse, and the palm does not feel a trace of support at all. In contrast, Viper V3, Viper V3 is very full and firm in the palm of the palm when holding it, and the weight of the entire palm can be unscrupulously pressed on the mouse.
But for grippers who use the palm root to touch the mouse, the Viper V3's full sense of support has another nasty name: "top palm".
Touching the mouse only with the palm root will be much more flexible than placing the entire back of the palm on the mouse, but if the mouse has a palm problem, this sense of flexibility will disappear, it is like the mouse glued to the hand, and the pulling gun seems to be a little slower.
However, this is also an old problem of the Viper series, and many players have reported this problem in the old Viper stage when the mold has not been optimized.
This time the Viper V3's new mold tries to solve although the rear curve is optimized. But from my personal experience, the feeling of holding the palm of my hand is still there, but it is no longer as prominent as before.
Another problem for gripping players is whether they can grasp it, in the words of esports, the "sense of control" of the mouse.
Comparing the ring finger and little finger placement areas of the two mice (left mouse in the figure), Viper V3 and Viper V2 are two very different designs.
The side of Viper V2 narrows more than Viper V3, which makes the side of Viper V2 form a concave surface that is very suitable for grasping in the palm.
When grasping, this concave surface will give the fingers a very strong sense of confirmation, and you can feel the mouse in the palm of your hand at all times.
The Viper V3, on the other hand, has an ergonomic design that slopes to the right and a side that is close to a straight line, which is more like asking you to "put your finger up" than to "grab it".
If you look closely, the side of the Viper V3 is convex in the longitudinal direction, and this small convex design will allow you to comfortably lean your ring finger and little finger on it when holding it on your stomach, and it also proves that this arc is indeed what allows you to put your finger up.
But if you grasp this arc in a grasp way, the convex arc of Viper V3 gives you a sense of control far less directly than the concave surface of Viper V2.
Of course, this is only a small problem, the Viper V3's full mid-rear support can support your palm, and also let you experience a feeling of complete control when you use the power of your palm to drive the mouse.
However, if you use your fingers to drive the mouse, I recommend that you choose the V2 V2, which has a stronger sense of grasp.
Stomach grip
Gripping doesn't seem to need to be tangled at all, because Viper V3 is a mouse designed for tummy grip players.
The higher support and tail curve can well distribute the force of the palm on the mouse, which not only provides good support for the palm but also reduces the fatigue of the wrist during long-term operation.
But there are also many friends around me who are lying on the symmetrical mouse of the poison viper V2, after all, some people just don't like the tilt of the right-hand learning mouse.
The height that distinguishes the people who apply to the two-mouse grip is still the height, and I think the Viper V2 is too low for players with big hands.
Like my 18.5CM hand, if I lie on the poison viper V2, the little finger clamped on the right side of the mouse feels nowhere to place, and from time to time it will scrape on the mouse pad, which will be more uncomfortable over time.
If you clamp the mouse tightly to lie down, the gap on the right side of the Viper V2 will scratch the skin of your ring finger when you press the right button, which is really uncomfortable.
The size of the Viper series has always been not very good for small hand users, and when small hand users lie on the Viper V3, they will also have a feeling that they can't control the mouse because of the Viper's high back support, as if holding a crystal ball in their hands.
I think 18CM is the dividing line of the tummy grip, and players with a hand length lower than 18CM can choose the symmetrical Viper V2, otherwise the Viper V3, which is more friendly to big hands and tumble grips, is always recommended
Finger grip (pinch)
This is a grip that does not need to be tangled at all, just choose the symmetrical Viper V2.
Whether you are fingertip contact or finger contact pinching, the Viper V3's high back will make your wrist unconsciously raised when pinching, and the whole hand will form a very strange bow shape to meet the mold.
If you are holding the front of your palm with the mouse as an auxiliary support, the back of the Viper V3 will give you a good point of force, but your wrist will still be raised unconsciously.
So if you're holding the player, then honestly choose the low-back symmetrical Viper V2.
dismantle
The mold part will be talked about here first, I believe you have chosen the right mouse for you according to your grip.
Next, look at the internal differences between the two mice, I originally thought that the inside of the two mice is exactly the same process and design, but there are actually some minor differences, let's look at it together.
The first is that the housing fixing screws are different.
Viper V2 is fixed with four screws in four corners with buckles, while Viper V3 is fixed entirely by buckles in the upper part, and two screws on the tail are used to assist in fixation.
The housing fixing screw specifications of both mice are T6.
The mouse cover process is the second slight difference, although it is all one-piece hollow injection molding, with stiffeners to ensure structural strength.
However, the mouse main button part of V2 adopts hot melt + screw auxiliary fixation, and the side button part adopts hot melt fixation, which is slightly different from the full hot melt fixing of the main side key of Viper V3.
Considering that the Viper was released earlier than the Viper, I boldly guessed that it was the first time Razer used full hot melt fixation to worry about quality control overturning, so I added two screws to the Viper V2 for auxiliary fixation. After the subsequent hot melt process matures, the Viper V3 is changed to full hot melt fixation.
The second difference on the upper cover is that the DPI indicator of the Viper V2 is placed on the motherboard, and the light is directed from the motherboard to the shell through a light guide column, while the Viper V3 is a separate light board placed on the shell to display the light.
The motherboard part is almost identical, the main control, wireless IC, and main side button micro-movement are all consistent.
The foam on top of the battery is used to balance the center of gravity of the mouse and ensure the feel of the mouse.
Micromotion is a removable Razer third-generation light micromotion, 90 million times life, faster triggering, never double-click.
Perhaps because of the batch, the micro-touch feel of the Viper V2 is crisper than that of the Viper V3.
The roller cutout design also has weight reduction holes on the inner side and traces of lubricating oil on the side.
The roller encoder is from Kaihua, I forgot to take a picture here, and the scroll confirmation is slightly stronger than that of the Viper V3.
The side buttons of both mice use a separate mini board, and are connected to the motherboard by cable, and the micro-movements are Changfeng green dots.
The whole picture of the motherboard, and the Viper V3 also adopts the ultimate weight reduction design of punching holes in the motherboard.
The wireless solution uses nRF52840, all flagships are in use, not much introduction here, equipped with Razer HypexSpeed ultra-low latency wireless protocol, the right golden bar for wireless anti-interference design.
The foam in the upper left corner is wrapped with the DPI indicator, which extends to the upper cover of the mouse through the light guide strip.
The mouse sensor adopts PAW3950, the top sensor at present, and only Razer's flagship mouse is equipped.
The bottom cover is integrally molded and adopts a large weight reduction process, and the total weight of V2 V2 is 59g, and the detailed weight is as follows.

Perhaps after seeing the top internal design of the Viper V3, and then looking back at this product released some time earlier than the Viper V3, I no longer have the amazing feeling in my heart.
The top weight of 59g is already the top of the crowd of mice, and it is the apex of the apex.
But from the perspective of internal design, it seems that it can be optimized again.
If the DPI light also adopts the independent small plate method, will the weight be better than using the light guide strip now?
If the primary key fixing method is the same as the Viper V3, will the weight be lower if the two auxiliary screws are removed?
It feels like I'm nitpicking, and the Viper V2 is Razer's top low-back symmetrical flagship rat right now.
But I always hope that a good product will become a little bit better, and I hope that it can be extreme, to the top.
