Hongyan, as the seat of the leading organ of the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the early stage of the War of Liberation, and the seat of the CPC delegation during the Chongqing negotiations, is closely linked to the history of the Chinese revolution.
The Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee was formally established in Hongyan Village in January 1939 and moved east to Nanjing in May 1946. In the past few years, under the leadership of Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu, Ye Jianying, and others, revolutionaries have creatively implemented the correct line, principles, and policies of the party Central Committee, written a unique and magnificent chapter in an extremely difficult and complicated political and social environment, established immortal historical merits for the independence of the Chinese nation and the people's liberation cause, and cultivated the great Hongyan spirit.
In the later period of the Liberation War, the Chongqing underground party organization under the leadership of the Southern Bureau was destroyed, and most of the communist party members and revolutionary volunteers arrested were concentrated and imprisoned in the Zha di Dong and BaiGongguan prisons, especially the revolutionary heroes represented by Xu Xiaoxuan, Jiang Zhujun, Wang Pu, and so on, with rock-solid ideals and convictions and righteous heroism, withstood all kinds of torture and torture, sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people, composed a magnificent song of life that touched the world, and further enriched and developed the Hongyan spirit.
On October 14, 1985, Deng Yingchao returned to Hongyan, looked back on the revolutionary years of that year, and wrote the inscription "Hongyan Spirit, Forever Radiant", and the "Hongyan Spirit" was named and spread.
Many people confuse the Red Rock novel with the Spirit of Red Rock. In fact, there is a difference between the two, and there is also a connection. The older generation of revolutionaries are the creators of the Hongyan Spirit, and the Hongyan Village is the source of the Hongyan Spirit; the heroic group described in the novel "Red Rock" is the inheritor and inheritor of the Hongyan Spirit.
The connotation of the Hongyan spirit is: the political wisdom of being strong and soft and persevering; the political character of "not staining out of the mud and not being polluted by the same stream"; the broad mind of treating each other with sincerity and uniting the majority; and the heroism of being good at adversity and preferring to be difficult.
In March 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping participated in the deliberations of the Chongqing delegation to the National People's Congress, specifically mentioned the "Hongyan Spirit", reviewed the "Eight Articles in Prison" article by article, and profoundly pointed out: "We must often think about the awe-inspiring fighting spirit and heroism of the Hongyan martyrs, and always use firm ideals and beliefs to replenish the calcium of the spirit." ”
The Hongyan Spirit is the most representative revolutionary spirit formed by the Communist Party of China in the revolutionary practice of the Kuomintang-ruled areas, an important component part of the revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China, and a manifestation of the lofty ideological realm, firm ideals and convictions, great personality strength, and great revolutionary righteousness of the Communists, and is a precious spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation.
