Everyone faces challenges and obstacles that must be overcome, and there is no denying that their degree of success varies.
Some characters in the Marvel Universe, such as Yelena Balova, became anti-heroes worthy of applause. Others, like Aunt May, experience trauma and loss off-screen, which translates into characters introduced in the Marvel Universe, backstories that make or destroy these heroes, villains, and anti-heroes.

Scott Lang
Paul Luther's role as the male protagonist Scott Long in "Ant-Man" has a lot of comedy weight, and his "ghost-hating" attitude makes him deeply loved by fans. He may not be the fastest avenger, but he may be the most hearted. Most importantly, he is a good father who cares very much about his daughter.
However, behind it all, there is an undercurrent of darkness in the character's backstory. When he first appeared, he was serving a prison sentence, and the trauma of prison was great enough, and the history of this part of the character is rarely mentioned. In addition, despite his rapport with his ex-wife, he actually went through a rather painful marriage.
Sam Wilson
Anthony McKee made his debut as a falcon in Captain America, where he was Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)'s right-hand man before wielding his iconic shield himself. Since then, he has been the protagonist of his own TV series, accompanied by Rogers' childhood friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).
In Captain America 3, Sam Wilson lost his best friend during his service, another issue that was never really mentioned in the Marvel Universe, which was undoubtedly a huge disservice to him.
May Parker
It can be said that there are almost no Marvel fans who do not know the tragic story of Uncle Ben and the origin of Spider-Man. The Marvel Cinematic Universe decided to steer clear of this well-known backstory and instead show Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his Aunt May after the tragic death of Uncle Ben.
While it may be the right thing to do away from revisiting this particular origin story, it's worth noting that May herself still has an incredibly dark backstory. No matter who Peter's parents are, it must not be easy to lose them and raise her nephew. Although he was never explicitly mentioned, Ben Parker's death was a tragedy for May.
Tchaka
Black Panther is about navigating ethical gray areas and using different approaches to solving extremely complex global problems. When T'Challa's father, T'Chaca, was introduced, there was no doubt how much he loved his son. Unfortunately, fans can't get to know him on a deeper level.
While Tchaka is remembered as a good king and father, his story soon becomes more complex as his backstory is increasingly introduced. The fact that he killed his own brother for the "greater good" forever tarnished his reputation, a terrible crime that affected his descendants.
Drax
Drax (Dave Bautista) is another character in the Marvel Universe with comedic powers. Whenever he appears in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Avengers", he always carries his usual expressionless humor. This expressionless humor is a perfect contrast to the antics of Avengers: The World's Strongest Hero Combo.
However, behind Drax's humor lies an incredibly dark and tragic backdrop. He always stressed that he wanted everyone to know that his only goal was to defeat Thanos, because his family was murdered by Thanos, including his wife and daughter. It was a devastating loss that still clearly affects Drax today.
Rocket raccoon
The talkative Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) is a little different from Drax in terms of humor. However, underneath his cute exterior, there is a heart of gold, and when he's not looking for robotic arms, he's busy bringing his team together.
More about Rocket's backstory will be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. In the comics, however, he is the victim of horrific scientific experiments that disfigure and continue his pain, while the full story of Rocket Raccoon has yet to be developed.
Mark Sbeikert
In Moonlight Knight, gift shop employee Steven Grant, who is often unconscious and haunted by the living memories of another person, discovers that he suffers from multiple personality disorder and shares a body with mercenary Mark Sbeikert.
The cause of this character's mental illness is the horrific abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother, and it is heartbreaking to watch a young boy being abused by his mother and his subconscious desperately trying to protect him. In the comics, his father is also a Holocaust survivor, and while this is not explored in the series, it is another layer of trauma.
Steve Rogers
Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is the quintessential American hero, he represents the essence of American heroism, including all the beauty and flaws. As the first Avenger, he is always in a unique position to provide the leadership the team needs.
Before becoming the most patriotic super soldier in the Marvel Universe, Steve Rogers was a kid from Brooklyn, and what made his backstory so dark was all the losses he faced when he was younger. His father died of mustard gas after serving in World War I, and his mother, a nurse, died of tuberculosis.
Namo
"Black Panther 2" introduces the king of Atlantis, Namor (Tenoch Huerta Meja). In the comics, he is the first anti-hero introduced by Marvel, which is reflected in the portrayal of the character in the Marvel Universe.
His origins are heavily influenced by Mesoamerican history and Spanish imperialism. It is clear how much impact this incident has had on Namo, who will use the past to protect his people at all costs, regardless of the consequences.
Yelena Belova
As the Marvel Universe develops, the backstory of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) becomes darker and darker, and adding her sister Yelena will only make Natasha's story more tragic. Although she shows her cute side in "Hawkeye", Yelena has an equally dark past.
Yelena's background is a story of abandonment and self-reliance, something that no child should expect. She went through everything her sister did, but without the support of the Avengers' superteam, it was clear that she had suffered too much pain and loss.
