Merchants and wealthy people in Mujie City, northern Shan State, Myanmar, are often robbed, and many local businessmen and wealthy people have moved to other areas because of the lack of security.
On November 25, a burglary occurred in the south block of Mujie City. The house where two elderly people in their 80s lived was robbed by six armed robbers, and 200,000 yuan in cash, 7 million kyats in cash and five title deeds were robbed.
Their relatives said that after six armed robbers came to the old man's home, four armed robbers stood at the door, and two entered the home to rummage through the robbery. So far, the robbers have not been arrested.
A woman in her 30s said that robberies were frequent, and currency exchangers, businessmen and some wealthy families in Mujie did not dare to continue living in Mujie, choosing to live in Mandalay, Yangon and other places.
In November, there were two robbery cases in Mujie City. There are often burglary cases in Mujie City, but most of the robbers have not been arrested and have not been duly punished.
