Recently, five vehicles carrying Saneng milk goats imported from Australia successfully arrived at the 10,000 dairy sheep breeding center in Heshui County. It is understood that after a 45-day quarantine period, these imported dairy goats successfully arrived in Heshui County to "settle down" in Heshui County in strict accordance with the relevant requirements of introduction and quarantine inspection.
Li Zongru, chairman of the county agricultural industry development and investment co., LTD., told reporters that this is the first batch of foreign purebred Sareng sheep introduced by Heshui County, and after the sheep enter the farm, through the implementation of breeding sheep genealogy file management, the use of modern breeding technology to cultivate a high-quality dairy sheep core breeding population suitable for breeding in the county, so as to ensure the high-quality advancement of the county's dairy sheep breeding project.
The introduction of Saneng milk goat breeds from Australia has the characteristics of early maturity, strong disease resistance, wide adaptability and large milk production, which can effectively make up for the bottleneck problems of single germplasm genetic resources in the dairy sheep industry in our county, insufficient feeding rate of core species, and variety degradation, and Heshui County has good geographical advantages and has better conditions for the development of dairy sheep breeding.
