The 15th China International Youth Art Week is supported by Bauhinia Culture Group and co-sponsored by China Association for International Cultural Exchange, China International Culture Group Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

According to Zheng Xiuquan, Deputy General Manager of China International Culture Group Co., Ltd., this year's Youth Art Week held more than 20 art activities in six major sections, including the opening ceremony concert, young artists' fine exhibition, art exhibition, art forum, master class and online cloud performance, with the theme of "Riding the Waves and Singing in Xiamen". 20 high-level art troupes and more than 200 young artists from China, Brazil, India, Russia, South Africa, the United States, Italy, Austria, Malaysia, Turkey, Venezuela and other countries participated in the series of performances in a combination of online and offline methods.

At the opening concert, led by Chinese-American conductor Qiao Wanjun, famous Malaysian pianist Claudia Yang, Turkish mezzo-soprano Tru Yichuju, Italian cellist Maivo, Austrian violinist Tim Melnik and other foreign artists, Chinese outstanding young singers Hong Zhiguang, Zhang Yi and Xiamen Song and Dance Theater Symphony Orchestra performed together to sing the song of youth.

This concert, which reflects the integration of China and the West and exchanges between China and foreign countries, includes Chinese classic opera selections such as the piano concerto "Yellow River", Guanxia's "First Symphony Overture", the songs "I Live at the Head of the Yangtze River", "My Affection Waits for You" and "Take Another Look at Your Relatives", as well as excerpts from popular world classic operas such as "Sedigia Dance", "Matador Song" and "Thank You Friends", as well as the cello playing Rachmaninoff's "Vocal Practice", the violin playing "Song of the Wanderer", and the symphony "Voltava River" and " Radetzky's March brought the concert to a climax.

Claudia Yang, a fourth-generation Chinese from Tong'an, Xiamen, was praised by Maestro Maazel as "a pianist who can play with his heart". Returning to her ancestral hometown of Xiamen for the first time to perform the "Yellow River" piano concerto for the Xiamen audience has been Claudia Yang's long-cherished wish and dream for many years. At the concert, she was particularly excited and cordially greeted the audience in Hokkien.

It provides a broad platform for performance and communication

Five years ago, the Ninth BRICS Summit was held in Xiamen, marking the second "Golden Decade" of BRICS cooperation.

This year, China International Youth Art Week invited more than 100 young artists from 9 art troupes from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and other countries to gather in the cloud to show a variety of artistic styles with song and dance. Among them, the Central Opera House selected 10 classic Italian opera songs such as "No One Sleeps Tonight", "Drinking Song" and "Make Way for the Busy People" to the audience. The Bahia Youth Orchestra in Brazil presented Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasies Overture and the French Impressionist master Ravel's Bolero. Zanz Ballet from South Africa presents a modern ballet performance with nine classic works including Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Russian and Indian dance troupes offer audiences a unique national experience.

It is particularly worth mentioning that on the stage of this year's Youth Art Week, a number of award-winning artists in international competitions took turns on the stage, including young Chinese pianist Luo Wei, Italian cellist Maivo, and Russian Mariinsky Opera House mezzo-soprano singer Wen Muya.

In addition to the wonderful online and offline stage performances, this year's Youth Art Week also held a variety of activities such as visual exhibitions, cross-border art forums, and elegant art on campus. The Art Week also cooperates with the "Meet the Museum" in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu to carry out a series of authentic works exhibitions and light and shadow art exhibitions, bringing more international top IP and master classics to art lovers across the country.

China International Youth Art Week is an international large-scale multilateral cultural exchange activity with youth as the main body. This year is the first time to come to Xiamen, which enjoys the reputation of "cultural center, art city and music island".
