Salzburg, Austria, November 27 (Xinhua) -- The last stop of the 2022 WorldSkills Special Competition in Austria ended in Salzburg, Austria, on the 27th. The Chinese delegation won 6 gold medals and 1 bronze medal in all 7 events, which was a successful conclusion.

The Austrian competition officially started on the 24th, with 7 projects including electrical installation, masonry, concrete construction, industrial control, chemical laboratory technology, heavy vehicle maintenance and freight forwarding. The Chinese delegation participated in all the competitions.

After three days of fierce competition, Zhu Ke of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, Jiang Xinhua of Ningbo Technician College and Jiang Yuhe of Henan Chemical Technician College won the gold medals in freight forwarding project, heavy vehicle maintenance project and chemical laboratory technology project respectively, achieving a breakthrough of "zero" gold medals for the Chinese team in these three events. Wu Yuanzhou of China Construction 5th Bureau Advanced Technical School won the gold medal in the masonry project, achieving the third consecutive championship of the Chinese team in this project. Yu Shou'an from Yancheng Technician College in Jiangsu Province and Jiang Hao from Tieling Technician College won gold medals in electrical installation project and industrial control project. Zhang Yangguang and Liu Jinhao of Zhengzhou Commercial Technician College jointly won the bronze medal in the concrete construction project, and the host Austrian athlete won the gold medal in this project.

Jiang Yuhe told reporters after winning the award that she was very excited to achieve a breakthrough for the Chinese team in the chemical laboratory technology project, and thanked everyone around her for helping her make her dream come true. She hopes to take up the position of teacher in the future, give back to her alma mater, pass on her skills and experience to students, and cultivate more outstanding students to add glory to the country.

WorldSkills is known as the "WorldSkills Olympics", and its competitive level represents the world's advanced level of today's vocational skills development. The WorldSkills 2022 Special Tournament was held in 15 countries from September to November.

With the end of the Austrian competition, all 62 events of the WorldSkills 2022 Special Competition have come to an end. The Chinese delegation won a total of 21 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and 5 meritorious awards in 34 events, ranking first in the gold medal list, and the total number of gold medals set a new record in the history of a single competition. In addition, Chinese players won 62% of gold and 97% of medals in this year's competition, which also achieved a new breakthrough.
