The Ottoman Empire actively expanded during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. The territory reached its peak in the 17th century. The Ottoman navy has always been the hegemon of the Mediterranean, and from the 15th to the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire was the only country able to adjust Islam in Europe.
