Whether it is international wars or domestic struggles, they all have their own goals, but some people are for their own selfish desires, and some people are for the country and the people.
No matter what the purpose, in the end, it is the powerful side that wins the right to speak, just as the so-called successful prince and the loser are the losers, and the change of regime is also a historical inevitability.
But in Uganda, there was a political event that caused a sensation in the world and became the laughing stock of the world, and after the visit of the then Ugandan President Apollo Milton Obote, there was a huge change in the country, his presidency was gone, and finally returned with 1,500 dead soldiers.
Obote rescues Amin
Born in 1924, Obote seems to have been born with a talent for politicians, he is good at oratory at a young age, and he is also highly educated, and he is definitely a leader in Uganda, where the quality of the population is generally low.
After joining the Uganda National Congress Party in 1956, his career was smooth. In 1962, Obote, who was already influential in Uganda, supported Mutesa II to the presidency, and he became prime minister above 10,000 people.
Throughout China's more than 2,000 years of feudal history, any emperor with brains knows the means of mutual checks and balances, and will never allow the power of one person to develop to the point of covering the sky with one hand. Because the consequence of excessive expansion of power is to coerce the Son of Heaven to make the situation of the princes, and even the end of changing the dynasty.
But Mutesa II apparently did not understand this, so much so that Obote became the de facto ruler in Uganda.
People are selfish, and Obote's pride in his achievements, coupled with his real power, began to scavenge for money, even if he smuggled gold, ivory and weapons. Of course, it is not good for a dignified prime minister to personally do these things, and he also has a powerful assistant named Edie Amin.
Amin is two years younger than Obot, a typical figure with developed limbs and a simple mind, but he is also a man of ideas, who became a member of the British army by virtue of his appearance, and also mixed well in the army, and also became a sergeant.
In 1951, Amin won the title of Ugandan boxing champion, and the British army sent him to a professional military academy for further study in order to show his importance, which gave Amin, who had only attended primary school for four years, more capital.
Just as Amin was riding the tide with the British army, Uganda became independent in 1962 and Amin lost the tree behind him.
Amin overthrows Obote
Just when he was about to bear the sanctions, Obote appeared, a man who changed his life's destiny. Amin is a very knowledgeable person, after learning that the person who saved him was the prime minister, he quickly joined him, so Amin became Obote's closest subordinate, and the two began to make crazy money together.
Obote and Amin's actions were so blatant that they caused the displeasure of many people in Uganda, and the parliament, at the behest of President Musat, began to investigate Obote, which completely angered Obote.
In Obote's view, Musat's presidency was given by him, and Uganda's military and political power has always been in his hands, and since Musat can no longer tolerate him, he simply staged a coup to replace him.
Obote was also a daring man, and with Amin's support, he staged a coup d'état, and in 1966 Obote officially became the president of Uganda.
After Obote became president, he did not learn the lessons of Musat's failure, and he allowed Amin's power to gradually expand, and Amin originally achieved extraordinary achievements with Obote's help, but he staged a story of the farmer and the snake.
Amin is almost repeating Obote's path, presenting himself as a hero and constantly expanding his power. When Obott realizes that Amin is already a dangerous figure and is about to repeat his history, he also begins to deliberately suppress Amin.
But it was too late, Armin had already enlisted many people, plus the support of Britain and the United States, he also decided to fight Obote.
In January 1971, Obote went abroad to visit Singapore, but he did not think that his presidency would be gone. As soon as he left on his front foot, Amin seized the long-awaited opportunity to quickly carry out a coup d'état and soon took control of Uganda. You must know that Obote also became president by virtue of his own strength, and he also has many loyal followers in Uganda.
Obote is making a comeback
Amin showed a more murderous side than Obote at this time, he ordered the direct execution of Obote's dead friends, and arrested and killed all those whose names were related to Obote, and anyone who supported Obote was not spared, and his atrocity made him, along with Mobutu and Bokassa, collectively known as the "Three Tyrants of Africa".
Uganda is purging the remnants of Obote, and Obote, who knows that he has no way to return home, can only take refuge in neighboring Tanzania, but the president of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, is his good brother and not only takes him in, but also fully supports his comeback.
When Amin took office, it did not change Uganda's economic situation, but his brutality caused him to lose the hearts of the people, and more and more people fled to Tanzania in search of the old president, Obote.
Amin's brutal behavior provoked resentment in the country, and some groups even carried out assassination operations, but they were unsuccessful.
In order to divert the contradictions in the country and to avoid future troubles, Amin decided to send troops to attack Tanzania, because Tanzania was not prepared, and the army led by Amin quickly conquered the Kagera region. After capturing Kagera, Amin began a brutal massacre here, leaving Nyerere and Obote unbearable.
In the end, Obote returned with 1,500 dead soldiers, and with Tanzanian reinforcements, turned the tide of the war. Amin was already unpopular at home, and with Obote's help from Tanzania, he quickly lost the initiative and eventually fled to another country with his family.
In 1980, Obote once again ascended to the presidency of Uganda, and the 1,500 dead men who followed him were integrated into the regular army.
Although Obote was not as brutal as Amin, he was not able to develop Uganda's economy and gradually lost popular support.
In 1985, history repeated itself, Obote was forced to leave Tanzania in a coup d'état by his subordinates, and some people hoped that he would repeat the history of killing Uganda, and he himself said that he would return to China in 2005, but unfortunately he died in October of that year.
