After six years, Ryuichi Sakamoto released a new trailer called "12".

The album "12" contains 12 tracks, selected from musical sketches he recorded during his two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, like a sound diary. The album was recorded between 2021 and 2022, with tracks named and sorted by creation date.

The album cover was made by Korean artist Lee Ufan, a minimalist artist whom the professor admired.

Li Yuhuan has been deeply influenced by traditional Eastern thought since childhood, and while studying poetry, books and paintings, he especially has a good understanding of the natural taste and far-reaching allegory of landscape painting, and also deeply studies Chinese Laozhuang thought.

Here are some of his works:

Previously, the professor announced that he would hold a live online concert broadcast globally on December 11 this year. In his personal statement, the professor said, "I don't have the energy to do concerts, this may be the last."

I don’t have the energy to do live concerts... This might be the last time that you will see me perform in this manner. Now I don't have the physical strength to hold concerts or recitals, so I can only play for everyone in this form, maybe this is the last time.

The good health of the professor undoubtedly affects the nerves of all parties. In 2014, the professor was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer. In 2021, he underwent surgery for rectal cancer, and in October and December, he underwent surgery again due to cancer metastasizing to both lungs.

In June this year, the professor revealed in an interview that the cancer has reached stage four, that is, the disease has progressed to the terminal stage.

But things aren't entirely pessimistic.

As far back as 2017, three years after the professor suffered from cancer, when he released his solo album "Async", Ryuichi Sakamoto also mentioned that "this may be his last album."

During the interview, the professor also talked about how he has become more and more open since he suffered from cancer. Even if you know that you may only be able to see the full moon 20 more times in your life, there is no need to be sad, but to remember: "Don't forget to look at the moon every day."

Cherish the moment.

Best wishes.
