1. Soufriere Volcano Hike through the rainforest to the top of this 1,467-meter-high active volcano shrouded in clouds. After a thrilling 1.5-hour hike, you'll reach the sulphur-scented lunar summit of Soufriere Volcano, a full-fledged hiking trail that starts at the end of a parking lot. The gravel-paved path winds its way up steep hills, passing low bushes and lush ferns along the way. In addition to seeing the steaming volcano up close, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the island while hiking. About 3 kilometers before the finish is a marked stop, which is the starting point of the trail to Grand Etang, a calm lake surrounded by a circular path. It only takes 5 minutes to walk down to the lake from the street parking area and about 1 hour to walk around the lake.
