Six teams from five Nordic countries can be divided into four grades. The fourth gear is Denmark's overseas autonomous territory of the Faroe Islands, the third is Iceland and Finland, the second is Norway, and the first is Denmark and Sweden.

Sweden beat the Soviet Union 2-0 in the quarterfinals and beat previous champions West Germany 2-0 in the semifinals to reach the final. Hungary, the Soviet Union, and West Germany were all first-class teams at that time, which shows that Sweden's gold content in reaching the final is quite sufficient. Although losing 5-2 to Brazil, who have Pele, the runner-up was Sweden's best result in World Cup history.
Sweden then played in the 1974, 1978, 1990 World Cups, and reached the quarter-finals on the previous two occasions. The 1994 World Cup was a proud event for Sweden, beating Russia in the group stage and drawing 1-1 with Brazil. In the quarterfinals, they beat Saudi Arabia, Romania in the quarterfinals and old rivals Brazil in the semifinals. Denmark's results in the European Championship are too dazzling, the most typical of which is naturally the 1992 European Championship. Denmark did not qualify for the European Championship at the time, and the players went home on holiday and went their separate ways. In the eyes of Europeans, the status of the quadrennial European Championship is the same as the World Cup.
