It's been some time since Disney's live-action adaptation of Kuila was released, directed by Craig Gillespe and starring Emma Stone as Estella, aka Kuila. This movie should be a derivative work of 101 Spotted Dogs, telling the origin of the main villains in the work, which also laid the foundation for the new "101 Spotted Dogs" live-action series. In the film, Emma Thompson plays Kuira's nemesis, Baroness von Hermann.
The film delvies into Kuila's origins and backstory, while introducing her partners Jasper (Joel Frye) and Horace (Paul Walter Hauser), as well as her childhood friend Anita Darling (Kirby Howell-Baptiste). Set in the late 1970s, it tells the story of how Estella evolved from a young orphan to a fashion icon with black and white hair, or "female demon head".
While the film isn't a direct prequel or spin-off, but there's already some tendency to create a 101-spotted dog movie universe, Kuira may be just the beginning, as Kuira completes Estherella's transition from the scruffy clown to the gorgeous Kuila and opens the door to the next chapter.

After the first film had a satisfactory performance at the box office and disney+, as well as receiving a positive response from the audience, Disney began to consider the "Kuila 2" film project. This is good news for disney and fans alike, as the legal conflict between Scarlett Johansson, who has recently made a splash in Marvel movies, and Disney over the distribution of Black Widow, is unlikely that Emma Stone will appear on the Disney+ platform in the future.
The many performances received by this film bode well for the Kuira series, and many viewers are interested in hoping for a sequel, or a spin-off movie, or a live-action movie of 101 Spotted Dogs. Regardless of what series will follow, "Kuila" will undoubtedly lay a good foundation and good market prospects for subsequent works.

Kuila 2 is currently not officially released. But what is certain is that the sequel is already in production, and given the return schedule of the main actors and Disney's normal production time, "Kuila 2" may not meet the audience until 2024 at the earliest if all goes well. And if a sequel like "Sleeping Curse" was released in 2019, and the sequel was released nearly five years later than the original, then "Kuila 2" in Disney seems to take about the same time.

Kuira 2 can start the story of 101 spotted dogs from Kuila's point of view, or it can take elements already introduced in the first film to tell the story about the subsequent development of Kuila and her accomplices as a pure sequel to further establish Kuira's hatred of spotted dogs, because the first film did not go deep enough about this hatred.
In fact, for the sequel, Emma Stone and Emma Thompson have also proposed their ideas, they hope that the sequel of the film will bounce back and forth from the origins of the Baroness and Kuira's new adventure, but this will inevitably test whether Emma Stone can successfully recreate the iconic performance in the early 2000s film like Glen cross (starring in the 1997 version of "101 Spotted Dog"). Any remake would be a severe test for new actors.

Gossip columnist Anita Darling, as a good friend of Kuila, will naturally have the role of serving Kuila, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste will return. Kayvan Novak as lawyer-turned-composer Roger and John McCrea may also return as Artie.
If Disney can find a way to bounce back and forth like the Marvel Cinematic Universe about different moments in Kuyla's life in the sequel, then Glenn Cross may also be involved in the film sequel as the elderly Kuila, while Tipper Seiffert-Cleveland and Billie Gadsden can both return to play Kuyla in different periods of Kuila. If such a story can be realized, then Emily Bichem can still return as Esthera's adoptive mother, Catherine Miller.
While the sequel could return to many new characters or actors and tell more character stories, fans of 101 Spotted Dogs may also prefer to see more Spotsted Dog stories in Kuila 2, especially the stories of Poongo and Petitha.
