"Hold Your Breath" is a series of movies, including "Hold Your Breath 1" and "Hold Your Breath 2", and our evaluation here is not only for a certain part of the period, but a comprehensive evaluation of the entire "Hold Your Breath" episode.
Of course, the first "Hold Your Breath 1" alone is already a very good work. One movie, three stories, the first story is three people stealing, the second story is the old man's counter-killing, and the obscure third story is the captivity of rich women.
The first story: the old man is an absolute victim, the loss of his beloved daughter, disabled, no source of income, at the cost of his daughter's life, the three hundred thousand, is the only thing he can rely on in this life. The three stole from the old man is really inhuman. If they succeed, they will actually cut off the old man's way of life.
The second story: the old man's counter-killing does not violate U.S. law, and the owner of the household can shoot and kill the thief with a gun, without guilt. Don't say that only two of the three people died, and it was also in line with the law to die at the hands of the old man. The old man's anti-killing is not a psychopath, not a homicidal nature, and his actions are reasonable in normal theft. If the old man does not kill them, the first thief to take the bento is very likely to take the old man's life, break the wealth, and lose his life.
The third story: For the old man who has only one daughter to live with, the daughter can't change anything. The daughter died in vain, and the perpetrator gave the old man three hundred thousand, not what the old man wanted, the old man's wish was very simple, the daughter came back, or, killed to pay for his life. But the old man knows that under the national conditions of the United States, money can settle the murder case, the perpetrator can still live a good life, the family is happy, the old man can only be lonely for a lifetime, money for the old man, is only a luxury, the daughter is a necessity. So the old man chooses his own solution - to have a child again. Maybe a little extreme, but without the power of money, the perpetrator's sentence is more than nine months, the old man is just helpless, he is just a father who can go crazy for his daughter.
One movie, three stories. Ultimately, the cause of the problem lies in society.
The old man dedicated his youth to the country, half of his life, old and discharged, no subsidies, no respect, and even could only live in a place like a garbage dump. Blame the country, blame the society. The state does not give a veteran the guarantee he deserves, and society does not give a veteran the respect he deserves. Even the old man's only daughter was bought for 300,000 yuan for a life. The second part of "Hold Your Breath 2" is more exciting, the reversal is clever, especially when the last friend asks the girl what her name is, her answer is meaningful.
