On August 19, according to foreign media reports, the BBC will make Michael Ondaje's classic novel "The English Patient" into a series, and the project is in the early stages of development. Written by Emily Baru (The Traitor), the series focuses on the story of the World War II period, telling the story of 4 completely different people who meet in an Italian manor.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the novel has been filmed. As early as 1996, the original book was adapted into the film of the same name, "The English Patient". Directed by Anthony Minggra and co-starring Ralph Fiennes, Kristen Scott Thomas, Juliet Binoche and others, the film is set in war and the desert, playing a love tragedy that spans time and space, and has won nine Oscars, including the 1997 Oscar for Best Picture.
