author:Three glories of kings a day

Desmond Dawes was a devout Christian, a military doctor, a thin, introverted boy who resolutely refused to take up arms on the battlefield. After a battle, he persuaded the army to let him wear a uniform, but without weapons, and eventually he was recruited into the medical department of the US 77th Infantry Division. During the Battle of Okinawa, Desmond took the risk of dragging the wounded back from the battlefield for treatment, saving 75 lives.

Hacksaw Ridge is a military literary classic based on the true events of Desmond Dawes, a legendary hero of the U.S. Pacific Theater during World War II and a congressional medal of honor recipient, and published with permission from the Desmond Dawes Heritage Foundation.

After half a century, Desmond Dawes's image of perseverance, bravery and fraternity has become an immortal legend in the hearts of the world. In 2016, the film of the same name based on this book, "Hacksaw Ridge", won 6 nominations for 89 Academy Awards, making it one of the 100 great films in the United States.
