At the same time, in many countries, including China, the depreciation of their national currencies has led to a decline in the purchasing power of enterprises for overseas products, and all import enterprises are facing the two unfavorable conditions of high import costs and low market demand, so that the willingness to import white shrimp has further declined.
Ecuador has seen a surge in white shrimp production this year, and has been trying to explore more overseas markets this year, and the monthly export data so far this year is also relatively gratifying.
But at present, the global white shrimp market demand is weak, and in the last few dozen days of this year, will this result be maintained?
The fourth quarter was supposed to be a busy period for stocking up on Christmas, New Year's Day, and Chinese New Year, but now it doesn't seem good.
The current weak consumption in the market has caused a large number of white shrimp producers to decline in exports, and some overseas processing companies said that local raw shrimp production and factories have capacity, but the bad thing is that there are no orders.
This situation also directly affects the pond head price of white shrimp. In the 45th week, the price of most sizes of shrimp ponds fell by about 20%.
The quotations for each size of white shrimp for 44 weeks and 45 weeks are:
30-40pcs/kg, $4.4/kg, $3.50/kg;
40-50pcs/kg, $4.0/kg, $3.20/kg;
50-60pcs/kg, $3.6/kg, $3.00/kg;

The decline in pond prices means that the cost of shrimp harvesting for processing plants has decreased. So, how much will the purchase price of Chinese importers fall?
At the aquaculture end, the price of raw shrimp generally fluctuates more frequently, so the decline in export quotations of processed shrimp products is smaller than that of pond prices.
Compared to the previous week's quotations, the quotation of white shrimp products in the 20-30, 30-40 specifications of the Santa plant decreased by 0.5 USD/kg, and the price of 40-50 decreased by 0.3 USD/kg. Compared with the same period last month (around October 10), the difference before and after the quotation of white shrimp of 20-30 size of the plant is 1.1 US dollars / kg.
Affected by this, Ecuadorian white shrimp production enterprises, especially small shrimp enterprises, appear to lack confidence. Small white shrimp producers from Guayas are concerned that the low price of white shrimp will continue into next year, and may even lead to the closure of some of their peers: "Given the current situation, we do not expect prices to recover until January or February next year", "With high production costs, continued low prices, and reduced or even zero export profit margins, many of its peers are likely to stop operating again".
