After the founding of the People's Republic of China, she worked in the Women's Federation for 40 years, convincing everyone with her noble character and outstanding work ability. A legendary woman with aspirations
Zeng Xianzhi was born in Hunan in 1910, the fifth generation grandson of Zeng Guofan's ninth brother, Zeng Guoquan, and came from a prominent background. At that time, the society was turbulent and the situation was unstable, but Tsang Heon-sik, who came from a famous family, still had the opportunity to receive a good education. She entered school at the age of 6 and was admitted to Hunan No. 1 Girls' Normal School at the age of 13. She is intelligent and "rebellious", with top academic performance and no less noticeable on the basketball court. Such an unusual female student quickly attracted the attention of the principal Xu Teli.
Xu Teli was once Chairman Mao's teacher, and Zeng Xianzhi joined the revolution, and it was also under his influence. In 1926, Zeng Xianzhi, who was only 16 years old, was admitted to the girls' team of the Wuhan branch of the Whampoa Military Academy and became the first batch of female soldiers in China. The days at the military school were very hard, but she never thought of backing down. In addition to her outstanding performance, her beauty has also made her famous on campus and recognized as a school flower.
After graduating, Tsang Heon-sik, who excelled, was offered the opportunity to serve as a warrant officer clerk in the Second Front Officers' Instruction Corps. It was also in this teaching group that she met Ye Jianying, and the two developed from comrades to husband and wife. When she married Ye Jianying, she was only 18 years old, but she was ready to spend her life with him.
After marriage, the couple were separated for a long time for the sake of revolution. When Ye Jianying went to study in the Soviet Union, Zeng Xianzhi was arrested in China, rescued and then transferred to Japan to study. When the couple met again, it was 1931. Soon after, Ye Jianying was ordered to go to the Soviet region of the CCP, but due to the situation, Zeng Xianzhi was not able to accompany him, and he was not able to reunite until after the Xi'an Incident.
After giving birth to his only child, Ye Xuanning, in 1938, Zeng became more eager for the family to be reunited. Finally, in 1941, he got the opportunity to be transferred to Yan'an, but unfortunately Ye Shuai had already married another one at that time. Seeing that her husband had a new family, the strong, Zeng Xianzhi chose to leave without hesitation, and did not remarry for the rest of his life.
Over the long years, many people persuaded her to remarry, but they were rejected by Zeng Xianzhi. After putting aside the desire to marry and have children again, Zeng Xianzhi put all his energy into his work and shouldered the heavy responsibility of the Women's Federation after the founding of the People's Republic of China. At the Women's Federation, she worked for 40 years.
Women's Federation Strong Women
As early as 1946, Zeng Xianzhi worked in the Women's Group of the Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China, enthusiastic about the women's movement. On the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the CCP was preparing to hold a women's congress and establish the China Women's Federation, and Zeng Xianzhi was the first to think of it. With her assistance in the preparation, the conference was held as scheduled, and after the establishment of the Women's Federation, Zeng Xianzhi served as the deputy secretary-general, which provoked the work of the Women's Federation.
During her 40 years in the Women's Federation, she served as Deputy Secretary-General, member of the Presidium, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the All-China Women's Federation, making great contributions to the building of the All-China Women's Federation and uniting the masses of women. She gave a lot, but never cared about personal gains and losses. During her forty years in the Women's Federation, she lived a simple and simple life in a hut in the compound of the institution. During the 10-year special period, Zeng Xianzhi also encountered persecution, and all his work in the Women's Federation was pressed on the pause button, and he was sent to the Fifth and Seventh Cadre School to engage in manual labor. By the time she was rehabilitated, her body was much worse than before.
Despite this, after returning to normal life, Zeng Xianzhi could not let go of his worries about the Women's Federation, and was willing to return to his post to continue his dedication, and was re-elected as the vice president of the All-China Women's Federation in 1978. That year, she was 68 years old, and her dedication to her work had not changed. Her work attitude and ability to deal with things are amazing. When she died in 1989, someone wrote an elegy for her, praising her as "more ambitious than Mount Tai, with a chest like the sea."
Zeng Xianzhi's life is the legendary life of an extraordinary woman. She could have lived peacefully in a well-to-do family, but she chose the most difficult path and resolutely came to the light when the light came. For her, the only regret may be only in the relationship of marriage. He was only 31 years old at the time of divorce, but he made a firm decision not to enter into marriage again in this life.
