Derek Fisher, born August 9, 1974 in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States, is a former American professional basketball player, a point guard, former president of the NBA Players Union, head coach of the New York Knicks, and current head coach of the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks.
Fisher was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 24 in the first round of the 1996 NBA Draft and has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks. In 2014, Derek Fisher officially announced his retirement.
