He first bought a large amount of yeomanry land by force and sold it, and some of the land of the small landowners who had declined, which he collected for his own use, and then leased this land to the peasants at high rents.
In that era of war and famine, land was "gold", and peasants who had no other source of income could only accept their fate for the exploitation and oppression of Liu Wencai in order to survive.

Liu Wencai's fifth wife, Wang Yuqing, who was still with him before his death, accepted Liu Wencai's will and became the heir to wealth.
